****Official Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Online deals thread**** (4 Viewers)

Does anyone have any deals on Microsoft Office?  I'm getting a new computer and was hoping to find Microsoft Office at a less expensive price than buying it with the computer.  At a company I worked for a while ago, they had a deal for $10.  I don't really know anyone who still works there, though, so that's probably not available anymore.
Have you tried Google Docs (their word) and Sheets (their Excel)? They're pretty similar for most people's needs and they're free and web based.  You can import/export in word/Excel format if someone else needs the files

Otherwise if you have any students in your family you can get a really steep discount on office last I checked

Never, but the cruise lines were good last Black Friday.
Do you remember which cruise lines? We'll be on board HAL's Nieuw Statendam out of Ft. Lauderdale thanksgiving week. They just had a significant price drop on the following cruise on the same ship and we are considering going back to back. We do not want to book until we're sure we like this line and ship, it's our first HAL (many NCL, X and Princess). So I'll have to book on board or contact my TA during a port day.

Princess and RCL.

Im on the Regal Princess for thanksgiving week, can’t wait.  Booked it as a Christmas present last year as a mini suite..... 3 weeks ago got a call to upgrade for a full on Suite.   First time I’ll ever travel as a full suite passenger.

How good? Direct or through an aggregation site?
Extra $$ off.  In addition I think princess was doing free gratuity, free booze, little shipboard credit and one night at upgraded dining.

It wasnt free, but it was a better deal than the previous week for sure.

I'm in dire need of this as well.

I will go to office.com and use the free versions from time to time but would much prefer having a license key.
@Johnny Rock had a good idea about downloading it if your company uses Office 365.  I just spoke with IT in my company and they said that I can download it.  You go to the Office website and log in under your company name and PW.  The only thing is if/when I leave the company the license will get turned off so I won't be able to use it for free on my personal laptop after that.  I will cross that bridge when/if I get to it.

I am self-employed and work from home.  Really just looking for the Office (Word/Excel) license key at a dirt cheap price.  I use the Google Drive tools, but others I send spreadsheets and documents use Excel and Word.  TIA.

Have any kids?  Any educators in your family?  Microsoft Office 365 Education can be downloaded for free with a school issued email.  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/products/office

recommend a TCL Roku Smart TV.  Perfect for what you're looking for

I got the 50' TCL for $249 a week or two ago with Target doing pre black friday sales.
@Tiger Fan @matttyl

Been staring at these TCL's for over a week now.  I'm looking for 2 TVs in the 55" range to mount next to a 75" LG.  Did you guys go with the 4-series or 5-series?  And what is your opinion on the picture quality?  I think I'm leaning this way because of the built in Roku which will work with my cable service (assuming I keep that service or bounce back and forth between streaming and cable).

I'm looking for a new Nest WiFi if any of you see a deal on it please post here.

I know there's a 3 pack deal but I only need 2
Answering my own question in case anyone else is interested... the Google store has a 2 pack (1 router + 1 point) for $229 on Black Friday, best one I've found so far.

Edit 2 - the site that posted about Target, Walmart, Bestbuy etc. Has taken it down so maybe no deal for them after all?

Amazon will have two router pack for $269 (they won't sell points because they have Google assistant built in)

I got the 4 series, as that's the one that was on sale.  Not unhappy at all with picture quality - but also can't find out how to get into the advance picture settings.  It's just a bedroom TV that's being used to watch trash TV shows before going to sleep, though.

How about an iron? I need a good iron. I have dropped ours too many times and it doesn't hold the water anymore so there's no ability to steam.. I feel like I'm ironing with a hot metal plate, like in medieval times.

Yes, I do my own ironing. Don't judge. My mom taught me how to sew also...

Similar to MS Office question, any suggestions on where to pick up a cheap copy of QuickBooks or something similar?

I'll be honest, I have no idea if I went 4 series or 5 series.  I have 4 TCLs in my house and haven't been disappointed.  If I had to point out a weakness, it's probably the the sounds.  I'm not a huge audiophile though, so it doesn't bother me at all....and not that there is a problem with it...but some people take some issue with it.

I've left my 55" outside under my covered porch (with no specific TV cover) for 2 years now and it still works great.

I swear my outdoor kitchen/patio's TCL picture is better than my expensive samsung qhd whatever.

I only bought it for the price expecting it to die outdoors.. it is great.

Good to hear.  Even if I wasn't going to have them muted much of the time, I have little concern over the sound.  I think you guys have put me over the edge.

Yo! I need an iron too! My steam button is busted.

:hifive:  busted iron buddies

Maybe.  But I only have an hd antenna hooked up to it so the picture is perfect off that.  It's certainly better than it has to be.

Man be wary. Last year I got one that had a billion five star reviews on Amazon that was a damn copy and it just exploded a month later.  Literally.
What's the vacuum?... out of curiosity I'd like to check the reviews on fakespot to see how it fares.

My only, possible, purchase was going to be a Surface Pro 7 from Worst Buy. Costco has the bundle with keyboard and pen (I've never been to Costco, membership and its a drive). Worst buy has the bundle with just the keyboard. Worst Buy wouldn't match the bundle for a $100 pen. I was ready to buy a mouse if they threw in the pen. Worst Buy saved me $850 since they wouldn't match.

TV wall mount

Just bought 3.  Been watching this one almost daily...price has been bouncing around lately between the list 149.99 and today's 69.99.  This price ends today, but should be live again on BF.  Seems like a steal for side tilt that gives nearly 6" extension from wall for TVs up to 90".

I'm holding off on another TV wanting to buy something ridiculously huge...

This would be tempting at $749 if I was in the market now, but I'd like to hold off for a TCL:

Costco - Samsung 75" Class - 6 Series - 4K UHD LED LCD TV
I just came to post about this TV as I bought it from Best Buy yesterday as a (free) member early doorbuster.  My techie Cousin said this TV for 750 is a better overall deal than the 70 inched for 550.

Good for you. BB is the worst. When they do have a good deal it turns out they were too incompetent to run an etail website and won't honor their deal anyway. People wring their hands about how big Amazon is getting but places like BB and their level of customer service is the biggest reason Amazon gets so much of the business. If BB is a casualty of the new economy it couldn't happen soon enough.

That's on you, brah. The stars don't matter if the reviews are written by Wile E. Coyote. He has lower expectations than most of us since everything he uses explodes.

The upright stick vacuums (Dyson) have been out long enough where there are several knock offs.  Where is the best value in this space?
For what its worth, Consumer Reports has Shark models as 20 of the top  25 rated stick vacuums, including all of the top 6 models. I had to go to page 2 to find the first Dyson, probably somewhere in the 40s.  We bought a Shark last year and it seems to work pretty well.  Its perfect for our house because we have lots of stairs and no carpet.  The stick is easy to carry up and down floors and it works great on rugs and hardwood floors.

edit: perhaps somewhat oddly, it seems 3 of the top-rated BF deals CR recommends are for Dyson models, but they indicate caveats on all three for poor reliability:

Best Stick Vacuum Deals

Dyson V8 Animal
The deal: $300 at Lowe’s and Best Buy
We haven’t tested the Dyson V8 Animal, but it's similar to the Dyson V8 Absolute, which we have tested. The V8 Absolute aces all our main cleaning tests—carpet, bare floors, and pet hair—and operates quietly and cleanly. It also zooms along the edges of a room, leaving no debris behind. So at $100 off the usual price, you’re getting a good deal. While our members who own Dyson stick vacuums express high satisfaction, they give the brand our lowest rating for predicted reliability.

Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal
The deal: $350 at Best Buy
CR’s test results: Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal
At the usual price of $550, the Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal is a pricey stick vacuum, but you’re saving $200 during this holiday sale. We tested the similar Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute, and it earns an Excellent rating on all three of our major cleaning tests for carpet, bare floors, and pet hair. So if you have a mixture of flooring and pets that shed, you’ve hit the trifecta with this vacuum. One caveat: Dyson stick vacuums take a hit in CR’s reliability survey, earning our lowest rating for predicted reliability.

Dyson Cyclone V10 Motorhead
The deal: $300 at Amazon and Best Buy
CR’s test results: Dyson Cyclone V10 Motorhead
The Dyson Cyclone V10 Motorhead is superb on carpets and bare floors, and at getting rid of pet hair. It makes a bit of a racket as you work, but you’ll appreciate the clean emissions. Like the other Dyson models, this one's Overall Score takes a hit because of the brand's Poor reliability ratings. You’re saving $200 off the usual price.

Hoover React Whole Home Advantage BH53210
The deal: $110 at Amazon
CR’s test results: At less than half the usual price of $250, the Hoover React Whole Home Advantage BH53210 is worth a look. If you have a pet and bare floors, this vacuum will serve you well because it aces those tests. It’s also very good at cleaning carpet, and it zips effortlessly along the edges of the walls in our test lab and does so quietly. The one drawback of this Hoover is that it fails to fully contain the debris it sucks up, earning a Poor rating on that test. So bypass this deal if you have allergies.

Shark Ion F80 Cord-Free MultiFlex IF281
The deal: $250 at Amazon, $315 at Macy’s
CR’s test results: This 8.8-pound Shark Ion F80 Cord-Free MultiFlex IF281 tackles pet hair and bare floors with ease but struggles on carpet, so it might not be the best option if you have a lot of rugs in your home. It comes with two batteries, so technically you’re getting twice the cleaning time—in our tests it ran for 24 minutes on one battery charge. This model usually lists for $450.

Shark Rocket HV301
The deal: $150 at JCPenney, $152 at Amazon
CR’s test results: Shark Rocket HV301
This Shark stick vac normally sells for a little less than $200, so you’re saving around $50. Consumer Reports has not tested this model, though we tested a similar model, the Shark Rocket HV302. The Shark Rocket HV302 earns an Excellent rating for pet-hair pickup and does a super job removing surface debris from carpet. It’s also above average at cleaning bare floors. In our member survey, Shark stick vacuums get top marks for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction.

Shark Rocket Pet Pro IZ162H
The deal: $250 at Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Best Buy
CR’s test results: There’s a lot to recommend about the Shark Rocket Pet Pro IZ162H, including its superb performance at cleaning carpet and bare floors, and vanquishing pet hair. It operates quietly, and emissions are clean, so you don’t have to backtrack over areas you already cleaned. But we had to ding this model for its poor performance cleaning along the edges of a room; it earns only a Fair rating on that test. This model usually lists for $300.

What about animal furr wise?  Dyson is the only brand I've been able to get 5+ years out of. Havent tried the shark because of that even tho people rave about it.

I’ve had a Dyson for 9 years. 3 kids and a shedding lab with carpets, wood floors, tile, dirt floors, concrete, linoleum, logs, plywood, paneling, grass....all of it.

Well worth the dough. Don’t be a cheap-###.
