Regarding hitting what you are aiming at - you need to look down the scope. Firing form the hip is horrible. Also, with the auto weapons, you need to fire in very short bursts.

Started over to take advantage of my Premier membership from pre-ordering and have gone through the Symbiote message without dying. The guy riding the bollymog wasn't particularly hard. Set him on fire with an incendiary weapon and when he runs away, whip out the high crit sniper rifle and pop off a few head shots.

I'm using melee attacks with the Assassin far more than I though I would. I though Be Like water would be a waste, but now I'm thinking it's actually going to be pretty powerful.

Do you guys have your special orb thing equipped that you got with the pre order it supposedly causes 20 percent more crap to be dropped/found? I have seen a bunch of scoped weapons but currently my only scope is a fire damaging pistol.
That's a good pistol, though. Maybe not against Flynt.

In the first game, there was this outpost that had about 6 chests that you could get to if a minute or two. I remember hitting them all, selling the crap, quitting, and resuming. You spawn right back and rinse repeat. I could pull in tens of thousands of $$ in a short period of time and get tons of better weapons very quickly. Those will exist here as well, and I am sure the weapons you can get there will be as good or better than the chest. Of the ones pulled, I already have 2 that are better than the 4 pulled.
Ah, the old Crimson Fastness run. I still have that Youtube video somewhere.

Where are you finding scoped weapons? At this point (just got to the bully rider). All I've found are 2,000 pistols, 1 crappy shot gun, a semi-auto rifle of some sort, 2 LMGs and 2 assualt rifles. None of them had scopes.
Everywhere I guess. I found them all in Southern Shelf, be it in chests or loot drops. Maybe a side mission reward, not sure. Unless it is a shotgun, if it doesn't have a scope, I don't keep it. I need the crutch.Edit to add: Man, scoped SMGs are just a good time. I used that with my Siren all through the first Borderlands. The one I have now has no specials, but it still just tears crap up. Though it does indeed eat the ammo.

It's 10%. 20% is if you co-op with someone else that carries one. However, I could have swore on the intro screen that it said 5% extra, so now I'm not sure what we're getting. I know the money sure is stingy. Used to love opening all those little boxes. But at level 10, I'm still getting $4 a pop. Really??? All my cash is coming from being a pack mule. Just paid 4 Eridium to get the three extra backpack slots.

There are scoped shotties, as well. Get a good one of those and it is ridiculous what you can do.

Had one but sold it by accident. That's ok, it's the one weapon I really only use in close, or for those stupid birds. I still have several, and one may have a scope. I know I have one that becomes a grenade when you reload. And you reload a lot since the ammo capacity is 6 and it uses 3 rounds per shot.Speaking of which, I try and only keep one of each weapon type. It can be tough though. Until you actually use a weapon, you just don't know. Some sound good and suck, others sound meh but then kick ####. So I tend to be afraid to sell something until I try it out.

Very true. As a general rule, however, I look at the value to sell it at the vending machines. If it is close to what I have, I look at the numbers to consider it. If it is a fair bit below, I just vendor it without even looking at the stats.

I used to do that, but I found those numbers to be very subjective. Certain weapons have odd values, I guess based on the maker and mods and whatnot. But I often end up carrynng weapons of lower value than anything else I find simply because they are just plain ol' more effective. I'm talking outside of the obvious junk weapons of course.

so excited I tackled my post man this morning to get it. Installing now :)See you in 200+ hours :)
I thought I read somewhere that even if you do most the side missions, you can expect to finish in 50 hours or so. Or course, if you are talking multiple characters, then disregard.

Ok, I found a couple of decent guns and the game is getting much better. I also started using all my bad ### tokens, which has bumped my stats up a bit. I'm playing as a commando, so my turret has been a huge help.

Skill points seem to come really slowly. Is there something special I should be doing to earn them? (other than just playing the game and leveling up?)

My go-to weapons at the moment are a pretty good fire pistol and a 3 shot burst assault rifle with a pretty decent scope. I think I'm level 8 at the moment. Just about to buy my vehicle to get on the road to Sanctuary. If anyone wants to play co-op tonight, send a message on Steam. Off from work today....

Explosive weapons are just awesome for the extra damage and the knockdowns they cause, as well. I have an AR that causes explosive damage right now, and it is impossible for mobs to even get close.

If i start a new character (kinda want to play as the ninja) do I have to start all the way from the beginning of the story again?

If it's the same class, you can just respec, but if it's a different class, you'll be starting over.

I was basing that on the first game where I went easily over 200 hours. That includes 100% trophies and all DLC's, which lengthens the game play greatly. I can't even begin to tell you how many hours I spent on Crawmerax the Invincible. Outrageously difficult optional boss in one of the DLC's (assuming you did not exploit the glitch).I also tend to play a bit slower than most as I don't want to miss even one iota of loot.

In the first game, there was "in game achievements" (not trophies/xbox achievements). Outside of stats, I don't think they got you anything for completing them.

There appears to be similar in game stats now, but you can turn them into something once you accumulate enough tokens. What can you turn them in for? is it just more skins for your character or is there anything tangible?

I don't think you can turn them into skins, but you turn them into stats like gun damage, max health, reload rate, etc. that counts for all your characters.

oh that is very cool! Will make me concentrate on them even more than the first game when they meant nothing.

Made a second character, commando. I never used the gunserking since I always had a sniper rifle so figured why not go with the turret. Seems like I used the turrets all the time in the last game, plus nothing like running out of an area where mobs have respawned, dropping a turret and keep on trucking and watch the xp pile up for free.

The Handsome Jack quotes rival Cave Johnson in Portal 2 for humor.

Butt Stallion says hello!

Complete noob Q- How do xbox players get extra golden keys?

I'm Dragon4111, building a siren healer class, trying to anyway

I'm running with commando for my first character. I've been using the turret to keep the enemies attention while popping off head shots with a sniper, and it is beastly. Only time I've been put in fight for you life so far was fighting the assassins, where I died a handful of times. I've been putting all my skill points into sentry which increases the number of bullets the turret fires and the time it stays deployed. Going for laser sight and then scorched earth next.

Only complaint I have is the same as for the first BL, its too easy to level up beyond your current mission levels. I think they should level enemies with the player, or at least give them maybe a 5 level span. I'm at level 10 now and I think I have 4-5 missions left for level 8 or 9, so I guess I'll have to start skipping some side missions.

Sweet figgin game

Joetrow: Start doing missions more quickly. You have the opposite problem of most in that you go too slowly and advance in level without advancing the story.

thing I hate: When you pick up an awesome weapon, but its not nearly as awesome looking as the weapon you have.

I had a sniper rifle that was basically neon green but found an ugly grey one that deals 250% more damage (although the old one has the corrosive bonus)

Just got through the wildlife preserve. Pretty difficult.

Met a random last night who just happened to have 30 million dollars from a gold key glitch that one of his friends did. Basically he acquires minerals, lays them out and then dashboards. So he arbitrarily gave me $30 million dollars in a trade. We spent about an hour just blowing money on the slot machines between the three of us and still only used about $70k.

I understand that this is cheesy and possibly game-breaking. I'm considering giving it all away save for about 20k. Basically, if one of you guys wants a million bucks or two, just holler at me on xbox. (i are ren ho3k)

Can anyone explain how to best use Zero's skill for offense? I seem to only understand how to use it for defense to give my shield time to recharge.

When ever I try use it offensively, I feel like I become visible as so as I start shooting.

Yeah, style is a huge factor for me as well. I hope when I do manage to find a Legendary weapon, that it looks cool. Sometimes I feel like the first-person angle of the weapon doesn't really do justice to how much better it looks rendered normally. 3-foot long handcannons look like regular pistols in your hand, for example.

You do. It only lasts until your first attack. Melee attacks do 650% normal damage, gun shots, somewhere less.

Oh ok then. So a build would be to up your melee stats, then get in close, use the skill and do some damage to the stronger enemies it sounds like.

Level 12 Assassin and hate to say it, but getting a little bored already. Hope it's the character and not the game. Don't even know what it is exactly. I just feel after playing for a bit, maybe an hour, that I'm just doing the same thing over and over and I lose interest. May have to start fresh with a new character type and see if it gets any more interesting.

I'd like to spend some time doing some side missions, but most of them are pretty lame so far. Not really a ton of reward for them either. Just spent like an hour fighting through all kinds of #### in a mine underneath

where sanctuary was before it took off
and the reward was pretty mediocre. No good pickups either.

The side missions rarely give a good reward. They are mostly used for game play and to increase your levels with out the need to farm.

Found a pretty nice chest farming area near Sanctuary, actually 1 zone off of it. It is very close to that area where you kill the 4 assassins. It is like a village on water. Between traditional chests, as well as the new crapper ones and the back of a car, there are easily 6 chests to loot in a fairly small area with relatively easy mobs. Get 4 guys together all with the medallion you should pull some pretty good loot each run I would think.

lvl 14 berserker...just rescued rolan.

Got a couple of sweet ### scoped rifles (with 100 damage and decent enough mag size and accuracy). Upgraded all my rifle ammo carrying capability which has helped. Got a decent fire SMG and shock SMG, but need a corrosive one. Disappointed with my shotgun drops thus far which is needed when dealing with non-humans.

Best gun though is still a 6 round scoped pistol that has ridiculous damage/reload speeds.

Is it me, or are the guns a lot more powerful this version? And I have been running out of ammo like crazy (especially trying to save rolan). I was down to trying to kill those robots with a POS sniper rifle. They need to allow you to trade/transfer ammo types between players.

I'm having a hard time identifying this spot.

If you do the Pig Motel Mail Run side mission, it sounds like where you make the deliveries

There's one box in that stupid mission I can never find. I skipped it and moved on to blowing up bandit cars for Ellie. Two questions for the crowd, mostly those still early in the game (I'm only level 13). What are you spending your:1) Badass tokens on?2) Eridium on?My Badass tokens, I have been spreading out amongst quite a few things rather than concentrating on one or two. Don't know if it is the smart way to be going. As for Eridium, I have bought two backpack upgrades (6 extra slots total) and the sniper ammo upgrade for my Assassin. Next purchase will be for extra Combat Rifle ammo. Seems weird for an assassin but, truth be told, the most killer weapon I have found is a Combat Rifle that does explosive damage. That thing tears EVERYTHING apart, including those flying machines. So though it seems out of character for an assassin, I'm using it any time I'm not sniping. It eats through ammo though.
