Googling on a phone sucks so I will ask here. Wanted to play online with my brother and it wouldn't let my lv 28 character jump into his lv 11 game. What is the biggest level difference you can have and still be able to join a lower leveled character's game?
I didn't know that you couldn't. It doesn't make sense to do so, but I've seen level 50's in a level 7 game.

Talking with my son, I don't think there is any limit. He's jumped in with his level 40 character to help a level 3 out with a mission. This is on the PS3.
I'm PS3 and for some reason it wouldn't let me jump in with my brother last night.

in only really makes sense for the level 7 person who might want to level his character very very quickly. Also, I did not think there was any limitation on the level difference either. Maybe their was another reason he was not allowed to join that game.

A friend told me there was a way to filter, by level, who can join your game. I haven't seen the option, but if it's true, this is probably what is happening.

Breaking the Bank, did I break the quest?

I dropped the explosive with the laxative where the marker told me. When the skag came out, it attacked me so I killed it. The rest of my session, that quest was just left hanging. The explosive was no longer there though. Did it eat it, and I blew the quest by killing it? Did another skag come behind and take it? I don't have any sort of marker telling me to continue on with the quest, so I'm really worried I blew it killing that skag.

Edit: Watched the spoiler video on IGN. It did swallow it, and I killed it before it crapped it. Sure hope this thing resets next time I load.

Found out two things last night. Any two levels can play together(lv 16 and lv 32)and my brother is an idiot. He didn't have network turned on just local.

Found out that the next difficulty level is really quite difficult. I die constantly now and all my previous weapons (35 and below) are being replaced by whites and greens.

I found out that a few levels can make a heck of a difference. My first trip in to Thousand Cuts, I think level 22 or so, I died alot! Especially to those really freaky looking Miner things. I went up just a couple of levels and went back to do the quests there (see my post above) and find myself powning those same dudes, never dying. We aren't talking a bunch of levels, just like two and now three. Seems like a small jump but it makes a huge difference apparently.

Did you make it through the Hyperion Slaughter house before moving on to play through 2? I am stuck at level 4 of the slaughterhouse.

I picked up all 4 explorers trophy's last night. There are a handful of hidden or slightly hidden areas that have nothing to do with quests and one of them had for me the best treasure chest in the game.

I picked up the Challenge trophy today. Glad that is out of the way.

I may try my luck a few more times at level 4 of the Hyperion Slaughterhouse before moving on to play through 2.

Nope, I gave up. :wuss:

I tried Fink's Slaughterhouse today. Died twice before saying screw that. I don't really care for the whole "mass waves of enemies" thing. Two deaths is about as far as I was willing to go. Not sure if I will even go back to it once I level up. As I said, the whole slaughterhouse thing seems pretty pointless, and the lack of any plot line than "survive" just doesn't do it for me.

After dieing maybe 20 times on level 4 of the Hyperion Slaughterhouse I moved on to Vault Hunter Mode. It appears to be pretty tough so far.

Most of the early enemies are level 36 or above so make sure you are at a decent level before trying the second play through.

Got a conference call shotgun after killing the warrior on the second playthrough. Got a bee shield after trying about 15 times. With this combo I killed teramorphus in like 20 seconds. Pretty ridiculous.

Where is the bee shield?
You have to get the quest "this just in" from mordecai in sanctuary. You get it pretty late the the story mission. I think during data mining. There is a radio stating in arid nexus boneyard about 10 seconds from a fast travel station. Had to kill the the guy 15 times but it only takes a couple of seconds to kill him.

Can you only get the bee shield on the second play through?I am at level 40 now and think I am going to need this to solo Terramorpheus when I get to level 50.

I don't know but You will need it to solo terra. It's pretty much impossible without it.

So did I miss all the special codes for freebies? Been following @GearboxSoftware for the better part of two weeks and haven't seen one. Am I following the wrong account?

Explorer trophy is just what it sounds like. You have to discover every area, including hidden areas and areas you never went to due to missions, at the specified locations as labeled by the trophies. Basically go to the maps and make sure every inch of the map is exposed (all solid white lines are showing).Urban Explorer is the achievement you earn when you discover all named areas in Sanctuary, Opportunity, and Lynchwood. Highlands Explorer is an achievement or trophy that you earn when you find all of the named locations in The Highlands, Thousand Cuts, and Wildlife Exploitation Preserve.Blight Explorer is an achievement or trophy that you earn when you discover all of the named locations in Eridium Blight, Arid Nexus, and Sawtooth Cauldron. Artic Explorer is a achievement or trophy you earn when you discover all named locations in Three Horns, Tundra Express, and Frostburn Canyon. World Traveler is a achievement you earn when you visit all the named locations in Borderlands 2. =============================The Challenge trophy relates to the Bad ### challenges you are doing and building up points for. To get the trophy you have to complete a ton of challenges (most to level 1, some to level 5). Note that some of the challenges are hidden until they are unlocked by completing all 5 levels of a previous challenge. The second post in this link below will show you the exact challenges you need to complete to get the trophy. Jimmy Jenkins is the most difficult, since he is an ultra rare spawn, and the Open Wide is the most time consuming, since you have to complete level 5.http://www.trueachievements.com/a167551/challenge-accepted-achievement.htm

Back after a week-long trip back to Ohio. Did I miss anything?
No. Thread has actually been pretty dead lately. Guess the newness factor has worn off.
I saw there is new DLC that came out today. Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty. Got the text from Steam, anyway.ETA it comes with a new vehicle - a hovering sand skiff.

Got to lvl 8 / sanctuary, then went on vacation for a week.Got back, loaded up my game... "ooh, a chest!"Well, there goes a golden key for a ####ty lvl 8 grenade mod.
I think that is the exact level, and exact reward, I got when I goofed up my first key. I think I have a second but, to be honest, I don't care to much. I've yet to hear anyone be totally stoked about anything they got from the chest.
I am a little late to this conversation, but I opened one at around level 22 and got 2 awesome purple sniper rifles with elemental damage and damage just under 1K. It was a long time until I found something better.

Would have loved a drop like that. Got nothing close to it though. Still have three keys however.Just tried the cut down the statues mission. I failed. My weapons are good, but they don't take enemies down fast enough to keep that thing alive. May be time to try burning another key on the gold chest. This was the first side mission I died on in quite awhile other than the stupid slaughter dome things. I did knock out the main storyline while I was there. But this was another side mission listed as Trivial, which was total BS.

Picked up the BL2 Season Pass for $22.49 on Amazon just now. There is a 25% off coupon code on Slickdeals. Too lazy to look it up right now.

Ignoring the extra benefits of shields for a second.

Is one point of shield strength equal to one point of health? Or to put it another way, are the total hit points before death equivalent in these three cases?

A) 10,000 health + 10,000 shield

B) 12,000 health + 8,000 shield

C) 8,000 health + 12,000 shield

I would value shield a lot more because it regenerates and health requires drops.

Yes I agree and I understand the extra benefits of a shield. I am just trying to understand the underlying math to the hit points so I can make the best decisions for my character. I have a class mod which heals me so I don't need drops all the time.

Same here. I found it early, and have hardly ever touched health drops. In fact, it's always a disappointment to open a chest and find one in there. I have to remind myself, if I decide to change mods, I may be glad to find those one day.

I would generally agree, but I might make an exception for Gunzerker. I regenerate health very fast and when I enter enter gunzerker my health completely regenerates.

What does it mean by Amp Drain/damage/etc
Haven't used one yet but my understanding is that when your shield is fully charged, your next shot at enemy will get bonus damage = to the amp damage of the shield. This will drain your shield = to the amp drain amount. Then your shield needs to regen to fully charged before dealing another amp bonus damage shot. Make sense?

oof...so basically it is worthless to anybody who isn't a sniper/zero.

As a sniper, I still don't like the sound of it. I don't need my shield draining on me in the middle of a firefight!

So no comments on the new DLC? Mine is downloading now. . .
I don't think I'm anywhere near completing my first run-through with my first character yet. So no interest in DLC at this point.
You can start the DLC missions once you hit level 15 I hear.Downloaded yesterday, but yet to try them out. Looks interesting and heck even if it is just more of the same BL2 stuff I'll be happy.

Interestingly, the Bee shield which is an amp shield is said to be the most powerful object in the game for any character. Many have said with out it, there is almost no way to solo Terramorpheus.

I'm sure you can. My point is, the last thing I need is more content. I want to finish this thing at least once!
