Huge upset what a big win for Oklahoma. Not trying to hate on Saban but just sick of watching them smoke teams.

Does Stoops leave for NFL? Thought I saw that somewhere he was fishing around a little.

Someone posted something about Cleveland. But why would he want to go into that mess.

OU started 15 underclassmen tonight. Their entire front 7 on D is returning.

Cleveland would not be ideal. Like a lot of teams though if they could find a QB.

Anyways great game, great win.

There's rumors every year, but you don't leave a program like OU. He's the toast of the state. In Cleveland, one bad season and he's fired. It's just total BS the way the NFL treats coaches. You never know though he might just try to get home, and that would be a good thing for CLE.

Gotta give props to Oklahoma tonight. I had no idea they had a QB capable of that kind of play, and I'm guessing he hasn't really shown this prior. The key was getting the turnovers and putting Bama behind, forcing them to pass more than they wanted. Tremendous execution from the QB and WR's as well. I'll admit I'm shocked by this one. It would be one thing if Alabama looked like they didn't want to be there but like I said earlier, that didn't appear to me to be the case. Great win.

Not sure, I thought that ship had sailed but who knows now.
I saw something the other day about him being open to job in NFL. Some thing to that effect.

I don't get why guys like him don't just stay at powerhouse programs for ever. Seems like a great gig, great pay in a college town, new challenges every year, and you are the man.

Just posted something similar, totally agree.

Stoops & Heupel kept saying he had it in him. That's why they names him the starter in August. But he was terrible passing the ball until Bell replaced him. But Stoops & Heupel kept throwing him out there. And it looks like it finally clicked for him.

Well because college football fans are the worst. There are many, many OU fans who think it's about time for him to move on because they aren't happy with ten win seasons and conference championships. That has to wear think on him or anyone else in that position (read Mack Brown, Les Miles, etc).

He was the scout team Manziel for the Cotton Bowl last year and that's when the coaching staff said they realized what they had. He was great in High school, 400 yards passing and 100 yards rushing with seven TDs one game I went to watch him.

Wait until he really masters the offense, he's gonna be great and Heupal said earlier this week that's he's the most talented QB they've ever had at OU. Not sure about that but he's got a high ceiling. And no one thought he could do what he did tonight vs a team like Bama, I would guess even the coaches were surprised a bit. He looked like a four year starter tonight vs a top 5 NCAA defense, amazing.

He played very well against my KState team this season, but more with his legs. You could see then the kid had big upside.

Right now on ESPNU game is tied at 7 and Bama is gonna take it in, NOOOOOOOOOOO. Hopefully OU can hold them to a FG here.

I think that's the crazy part is he's a dual threat guy with wheels. If he can put together more performances like tonight, and get the run going too, it's gonna be insane!

"Boomer Sooner" for stopping 'Bama short of a first down. :lmao:

I sat 4 rows behind their band once. I was ready to stab my ears with an ice pick.
It is quite ridiculous.
Southern Cal does the same thing with "Conquest".
Nobody is as bad as Michigan playing that gay "Hail" song after every play...
I submit Rocky Top for your consideration.
I actually like Rocky Top. Do they play it constantly?

I hate it, but they don't play it constantly. Unless they are kicking ###....

I prefer this version over the UT band's version.

Yeah, they usually play it no more than 200 times during a 3 hour game.

You guys obviously never paid attention to the SMU band. They actually don't ever stop playing their song, they just lower and raise the volume based on what is happening on the field. They got some special waiver for this from the NCAA like the missst cowbell thing.

You got me there. I have, in fact, never paid attention to SMU and their band.

Rumor has it, they keep playing at James' request to cover up the screams.

One of the best college rivalry pranks ever was carried out by the SMU band I think. Dropped grass seed on a rival's (TCU?) field during halftime in the shape of a mustang (I think). Couple of weeks later it came up bright green. Pretty cool prank.

:lmao: Yeah. This actually sounds cool.

Nice win by OK. Stoops' biggest win in 14 years.
Hard to believe, but true. Great win for OU. Hopefully now that Bama was decimated in a BCS Bowl some of those top recruiters will reconsider.

Moved Compass Bowl into the title to make the Vandy fans here happy.

I think tonight's games should be two of the best of the bowl season. Evenly matched teams and should be a ton of scoring. :hifive:

Well, the biggest was a NC. There have been a hell of a lot of wins between then and now. 6 conference championships. 7 bowl wins against less than stellar opponents. Fans of successful teams get used to those. It's been 3 years since OU won the conference, they were in a rebuilding year and no one was giving them a chance against what a lot of people still thought was the best team in the country. It was a huge win--even for someone like Oklahoma

Pisses me off that we go through most of the bowl season without having to do much channel flipping but what looks like could be 2 of the best games are on at the same time tonight. :bs:

Yeah I said this earlier in the thread. They could have put the Cotton Bowl on Sunday night and had that stupid GoDaddy mess tonight before the Orange Bowl.

Not sure why Cotton couldn't have kicked noonish Saturday.
