I agree with you 100%yeah, not what I was referring to.
Sweden's contrarian approach failed. The only way to look at it as a success is if you twist data, like was attempted a page or two ago.

My answer wasn;t inaccurate, Sweeden didn't and they are paying for it nowSo because it took me more than 2 minutes to respond, people should have free reign to start answering for me with inaccurate replies? C'mon man, lol
hey dezNorth Texas town of 100,000 with a market area of 150,000 gloves are readily available. I haven't seen hand sanitizer in weeks until today. One pharmacy had 2oz bottles for $3.99 that they compounded themselves. Another store had 12oz bottles for $14.99 that was from Canada and was not obtainable through their regular wholesalers. They had paid $8 a bottle. Masks I still haven't seen since the run on supplies.
OK, why did one jet not get smoke additive? You cant really see the exhaust normally. They add something like this product to make it smoke. The injectors are supposed to work upside down, etc, but that isn't always the case.
The Czech Republic closed schools, which remain closed, and closed its borders, which remain closed. They have allowed some small stores with few employees to open, and people can now engage in recreations that involve social distance, like swimming and tennis. What short term shutdowns are you talking about? The country is still basically locked down.Sure as long as I'm not attacked for repeating myself. South Korea and Taiwan have been lauded for targeted responses and testing. And Czech Republic and Austria have been lauded for short term shutdowns combined with embracing the use of masks in public.
indeedWow that was sadI would suggest this article and accompanying video be read and watched by everyone. I can’t imagine anyone suggesting loosening restrictions after reading and watching this.

Czech Republic was one of the first in Europe to declare a state of emergency and complete lockdown for 30 days. That has been extended by at least a week. Seems longer than 2-3 weeks.Sure as long as I'm not attacked for repeating myself. South Korea and Taiwan have been lauded for targeted responses and testing. And Czech Republic and Austria have been lauded for short term shutdowns combined with embracing the use of masks in public.
Sweden wasn't the answer to the question I was asked. I was asked which countries have knocked it out of the park without social distancing. The answer was none. Social distancing by itself wasn't one of the alternative approaches I was referring to.My answer wasn;t inaccurate, Sweeden didn't and they are paying for it now
I’m guessing because it was taking picturesWhy no exhaust from one of the jets?
It is anything but locked down. I was on my phone and didn't read his online part of the post. It was in a store in Texas and the sanitizer somehow made it's way down here.hey dez
what was the store in Canada ? I cant find any sanitizer and gloves and masks up here
My apologies then, I am not here to stir the potSweden wasn't the answer to the question I was asked. I was asked which countries have knocked it out of the park without social distancing. The answer was none. Social distancing by itself wasn't one of the alternative approaches I was referring to.
Or how that CDC shot caller came to have that position.I wonder if the shot caller at CDC that was offered tests but said "nah, we got this brah" will ever be known. It really set us back.
Wouldn't that make vaccines more difficult? To play devil's advocate for the Stanford crowd, the only plausible explanation I can imagine is multiple strains of the virus, with the nastier one currently making rounds worldwide.
I've posted this link before. If you'd like to support a small family of 10 farm business check them out. You can pick whatever scent you want from their soap list. Great quality. Being it's a spray it lasts londer than pouring a gel. The alcohol is cdc recommendation. It's moisturising unlike commercial hand sanitisers. Their soaps last a long time too and are the best quality I found when researching what to use during chemo.

@waiver wireThe paper store online has it. It did this morning. It comes and goes. I ordered some a week or so ago and it came quick.
I was supposed to be there for a wedding in late March. My friend who was getting married was supposed to come back to the US last week. I couldn't go there, and he hasn't come back yet. They were on a full public lockdown that is slowly being eased. It is not close to lifting restrictions. This is another example of facts being invented to fit a theory.Czech Republic was one of the first in Europe to declare a state of emergency and complete lockdown for 30 days. That has been extended by at least a week. Seems longer than 2-3 weeks.
Or maybe he isn't infected...yet.I’m guessing because it was taking pictures

I hope so?My brother owes back child support payments, and the IRS has taken all of his return each of the last 3 years. Can they take his stimulus money too?
I don't know much about what these countries have done. I know South Korea did a hell of a lot of testing early on, and then contact tracing. If we could test anywhere near the levels they do, and if we could effectively quarantine any positives (really, we need 15 minute tests like they have had for months), I would be more likely to be convinced that we could ease up.Sure as long as I'm not attacked for repeating myself. Early lockdown its really key. Unfortunately, the US decided against this approach, so we're not gonna get results like Czech Republic, etc.Czech Republic was one of the first in Europe to declare a state of emergency and complete lockdown for 30 days. That has been extended by at least a week. Seems longer than 2-3 weeks.
...
Czech Republic locked down the whole country. It still has a travel ban that is considering easing. It still has mandatory quarantine for people who have traveled. Businesses where social distancing is not possible are still shut down. If anything, it is a model in imposing stringent restrictions for over a month...not some alternative of denial.I don't know much about what these countries have done. I know South Korea did a hell of a lot of testing early on, and then contact tracing. If we could test anywhere near the levels they do, and if we could effectively quarantine any positives (really, we need 15 minute tests like they have had for months), I would be more likely to be convinced that we could ease up.
I'm all for making data driven decisions. I don't believe we are in a position to do so at this point.
To some extent, yes. Unless the vaccine epitopes are conserved in all strains.Wouldn't that make vaccines more difficult?
yes they willI hope so?My brother owes back child support payments, and the IRS has taken all of his return each of the last 3 years. Can they take his stimulus money too?
You too good buddy, love you like a brotherY'all take care, be nice to each other, and stay safe! You too Mr. Annonymous and Stat.
From the mouths of their government officials...Don't know where you're getting information, but I talked to my friend who is there the day before yesterday.
Also...Industry Minister Karel Havlicek said that as of Thursday, the government would allow reopening of shops selling hobby goods and building materials, and also relax rules on open-air sports activities where people do not congregate, such as running and cycling. More shops may be opened after the Easter weekend.
Since Tuesday, people have been allowed to exercise alone without face masks. Shops such as construction and hardware stores, bicycle stores and bicycle repair centers are among those allowed to reopen from Thursday.
If the death rate ends up being .3, that still ends up being over 1 million deaths. Are you saying 1 million people dying is a hoax? Its all suicides and overdoses, right?
I'm not taking away anyone who died from this. But this is the second biggest hoax of the last two thousand years. And by hoax I mean anything under .75 death rate even though posters are saying this is anywhere from 1-14%. When all is done the death rate will be .3-.5. Who do you think created this hoaxOh, so it's the media that made the jump from bat to human sometime last year. It's the media that spread in every direction to the point that nations across the globe are in lockdown in efforts to not have Spanish Flu 2: Electric Flugaloo playing to packed hospitals. Do you realize just how that point sounds? This is not a media invention.
And yet you provide no link.New York Times says you're wrong as of yesterday.
Hobby shops, bicycle repair shops? Not exactly the most essential businesses no? I'll try and find the other link I had probably dozens of pages ago. The remaining stores set to open on Tuesday are even more trivial.bentley said:They have plans to reopen some small businesses where people don’t congregate in numbers, but nothing of significance. That means the opposite of “even the most trivial.” Also, the lockdown was early and lasted longer than 2-3 weeks.
They shutdown on March 12th. We started shutting down on a broad scale on March 17th with some states even earlier. Are we a week away from opening hobby stores and bicycle repair shops?bentley said:If we’d jumped on a hard lockdown early, our conversation would also be very different. But, we didn’t until it was too late. So Czech Republic is a false equivalency.
When you say “massive overreaction”, can either qualify or quantify that statement? Hang in there buddy, Team Optimism has your back.
You mean businesses with few employees? Sure, we could reopen those. No reason a solely owned bicycle repair shop can't open. But you're claiming the whole country is reopening. That's just false. They shutdown on March 12th. We started shutting down on a broad scale on March 17th with some states even earlier. Do you have any data or is this just speculation?Mr Anonymous said:What really sucks is we've already reached the point of massive food lines, an uptick in suicides, drug overdoses, and domestic abuse. Even more perplexing is the fact that other countries were much smarter and directed with how they dealt with managing the spread. It's not like the whole world handled this the same way and we're just stuck watching bodies pile up because there's nothing we can do. The blanket idea of keeping all people at home no matter how low their individual risk is actually the simple-minded response and its result is going to be far more damaging than anything this virus ever comes close to.
Lol, show me where they're not. Businesses like toy stores are opening on Tuesday. Public swimming pools are already open. If stuff like that is going to be open, the equivalent here would put just about everyone back to work. And with the right measures, nothing would have to be closed. You mean businesses with few employees? Sure, we could reopen those. No reason a solely owned bicycle repair shop can't open. But you're claiming the whole country is reopening. That's just false.
Thank you for the clarification. Can you post those specifics? I would like to read on these folks.Mr Anonymous said:Authorities in other countries that have taken a different path and expert doctors who think the reaction to this virus in many places, specifically the U.S. for one, is overblown.
They're every bit as credentialed and in many cases far more experienced than those authorities and experts saying the only way is to keep people at home.

If we are talking about spikes in Food Bank demand, that’s objectively true here. I’m on grant review committees in Austin, Dallas/Ft Worth and Houston. I’ve heard data on household violence spikes in DFW. Anecdotes around increased demand at the domestic violence shelters in Austin without hard numbers. Nothing yet in Houston.I’ve heard the bolded mentioned a number of times, yet I’ve not yet seen any data on it. Do you have any data or is this just speculation?

It's Team FollowTheData and Team Pollyanna.
Look at the damn data.
The whole #######g country shut down nearly, with everything closed. And we're at 2,000 deaths a day.
We've done almost everything we can as a country to stop this and we're still having insane numbers of hospitalizations, and daily deaths from ONE disease.
There are two kinds of folks in this situation. Folks who are data driven, and folks who are driven by other things: politics, emotion, hope?
Look at the data. Argue the data. But don't pretend like Fox News, or Rush, or Trump has had ANY validity regarding what was going on. The experts and the MSM have been on top of this from day 1, predicting basically what has happened.
And based on those dire predictions, the country shut down. And deaths are still spiking. We have the worst outbreak level in the world, and because it's just 2k/month despite HEROIC efforts at cutting this off, you guys are like "what's the big deal".
There will always be folks who stare in the face of danger and invite others to follow them down the path to destruction. Right now, unfortunately, because so many americans tune into sources that aren't listening to experts, or who have a drastic imbalance between desire for a restored economy vs one where life is preserved, too many of these "devil be damned" folks just want normal to return no matter the cost...and without a real understanding of what they're asking. They don't trust the MSM, they in large part trust Trump (based on his record God only knows why), and they doubt the experts.
And they'll encourage folks to heed the sirens call of opening things back up. "C'mon...the shutdown is worse than the virus. Come hear our song. Come steer your ship in this direction. How bad can it be? The MSM is lying to you. Experts are wrong! Open it all back up! Come listen to our song."
And unfortunately, this is no small number in society, and our country is being run by many of these people. God help us all.
I'm sure he'll admit he was wrong any minute now. The weird thing is they were supposed to be an example of a country that didn't impose strict restrictions and shutdowns.
