I did tons of things in 2020 and 2021 that I did prior to covid. My son played little league and travel baseball. We went on vacation with other families 2 times. In summer of 2020, I went to parties indoors and outdoors without masks. I dunno. I guess Ive never really been scared of COVID (if I didnt make that obvious from all my posts from the beginning). I wore masks when asked to. I got vaxxed when elgibile, boosted when eligible. My son has winter workouts tomorrow with his team. Hes going to that. We had people over for XMas Eve and Xmas Day. I didnt care who was vaxxed or unvaxxed. I didnt ask people to get tested. If I wasnt scared of COVID in 2020, why would I be scared of it in 2021? Heck my wife and son may have even got covid from my nephew from XMas Day and instead of standing on line for 4 hours to get tested, we did the right thing and stayed home for 5 days. Both are fine now.I was quoting somebody - IK maybe but I'll answer. For me it's probably easiest to just say those that are back to doing most of what they did prior to Covid. I'm not counting having to wear a mask to an event. Also, I consider my life mostly back to normal although I now WFH full time. I guess other may not agree with that but they also opened our office so I could go in if I wanted.
I mean, there's definitely a list of things I either don't do or are cautious about that wasn't a consideration before. Example, we have to cancel/postpone some Christmas events when my wife caught Covid mid-December. If she had had the Flu for example, we wouldn't have been quite as cautious with the quarantine period.
I did everything society has asked me to. Yeah I whine about it on these boards because I think some of it is overboard and hypocritical (COVID only comes out at 10pm, you can catch covid walking to your table so you have to wear your mask but once your sitting down you can take it off, vaccine mandates for kids to enter restaurants, the movies, play sports, when covid is less dangerous to them than the flu, people baking mail, people saying "listen to your doctor" unless its something they dont agree, etc, etc).
That doesnt make me the bad guy no matter how everyone wants to paint me. Heck I got lambasted for going to a ####### bagel store to grab breakfast during the initial lockdown. So yeah, nothing has really changed for me pre-covid vs post covid except working from home. I feel really badly for those in healthcare but Ive done everything society has asked of me during 2020 and 2021 and yes Im ready to move on and have.
