In this thread we will rank and discuss Dan Lambskins favorite cheeses

Ranking criteria is arbitrary, some main factors will be taste and versatility, but there any many other variables

These may not match with your favorite cheeses. That’s ok. People have different opinions

The list will largely contain base variant cheeses, don’t expect to see blueberry walnut versions of your favorite cheese

Finally, there was no proper vetting of this list, mistakes are likely

Now sit back and enjoy

I was just thinking about asking peoples thoughts on cheese. I would definitely like to learn more.

Cheez Whiz for the win

With all the amazing cheeses of the world, if this and American crack any top 50, it'd be like if Killer Sofa made the top 50 horror list. Just no. I'm already prepared to be disappointed.

It's ok, GB. Just keep the following in mind.

"American cheese isn't even considered to be real cheese. It's called a "pasteurized cheese product." While it was originally a blend of different cheeses like Colby and cheddar, now the American cheese we see in the likes of Kraft Singles is not made with at least 51 percent of real cheese. So, it lacks an official cheese designation."

American cheese definitely has its place
This
At the very least I like it on a grilled burger, much better than a cheese-less burger. Pro grilling tip: before placing on burger take the plastic off the cheese.

My thing with American cheese is that there is no instance where it wouldn't be better if you substituted American for a Cheddar or Jack, burgers included.

Give me a burger with a slice of Tillamook over American any day.

I've never seen a food product that is so mediocre be so beloved.
