ok, maybe it is well known and obvious in this thread, but Johnathan has lung cancer correct?

They did not just say it on ATC, but said he had 3 borken ribs. However, People don't look that bad with some broken ribs. Andy says were are going to get him in with the right people and he is going to make it. Run XXX miles. Like he was fighting something life threatening. I put that together with his promise to quit smoking as lung cancer.

I didn't make that leap but with the amount he smokes, it wouldn't be a surprise.

I didn't make that leap but with the amount he smokes, it wouldn't be a surprise.

Can be said for a lot of the captains...and almost any disease as much as they smoke/dip...the stress and lack of sleep.

I didn't know that, but it does makes sense. I was wondering why he's still on oxygen after falling off a bull and breaking his ribs. I could see how they could find that through the x-rays/MRI from his injury. That sucks. I hope it's not true, but you're probably right.

Sig said something about being worried about handling the boat in rough conditions and making sure the crew is safe. I took that to mean that Edgar would captain it but Sig might come along on some of the trips in case there were problems.

Could EASILY be Oxy. In fact, it's probably more likely. Would be easier to take onboard than heroin, is easier to procure, would explain the stealing of Phil's pills, etc.ETA: Just googled it and apparently little more than a year ago, Jake was on a Dr. Drew program talking about "past" addiction problems with Oxycontin (along with Jake A, talking about his alcohol abuse issues, which explains why they were so proud that he "didn't have a sip" at his bachelor party.)

Well they are up in the mountains where the air is thinner. Broken ribs makes it harder to breathe. Thin air makes it harder to breathe, put the 2 together, it's understandable that he might be on oxygen. Or maybe he got lung cancer from falling off a bull.

yeah, i thought it was in the middle of A) not catching crab, B) trying to quit dipping, and C) missing his kid.not excusing his actions, but just seems to be a drop in the bucket when compared to how legitimately he cares about his crew and his business.

I'm not sure if it's 3 new "deadliest catch" episodes, or one "The Bait" pre-show, one new "DC", and one new "After the Catch" post-show.

The Time Bandit captains were just on the local radio promoting the new season, they said something about "if you can't get your fill, three hours of hillstrands" tonight
