***OFFICIAL*** Deadliest Catch Thread! (1 Viewer)

If you were the insurance carrier for his boat and saw the show, wouldn't you drop him immediately? He had a greenhorn running the hydro, is drunk and/or high all the time....
:goodposting: was thinking the same thing.. no way an insurance company can afford to take a chance on him killing someone... especially with the evidence of his abuse... treatment..abuse cycle.. they'd lose everything if they insured him and he abused and killed someone.. my guess.. last we saw of him :bye:
Or the insurance company could keep taking his premium checks and profiting. And if there was ever a claim filed, refuse to pay it based on what is shown in the video.

But then I'm cynical about corporations.
odds are his boat is going to get repossessed. Drug addicts aren't exactly known for paying their bills on time.

I quit watching Elliot went to rehab right? Or not?

What did Freddy do?
Elliot did go to rehab, it didn't stick. He started doing drugs again, basically adapted a "#### you all! I am awesome!!! The Producers of Deadliest Catch make me look bad! Get off my boat Deadliest Catch!"

Freddy, he was supposed to report by a certain time for the Wizard to leave the dock. Keith had turned the boat over to Mouse. SO Mouse called Freddy to see where he was. Freddy said "We got time. I'm not ready. Freddy's ready when Freddy's ready." and hung up. Mouse went down to get Freddy and Freddy chose to ccontinue drinking (and possibly more) instead of heading out to do more fishing.
I always wondered when the drugs were going to show up on the show. No way guys can work the hours and with the pain these guys do without help.

Wonder how much Passages at Malibu paid to get their name mentioned on the show? And man are they going to regret it if he goes back to drugs (which I think he will)

Seems like there are few people that I've "cheered" for during the show that haven't disappointed me along the way with some sort of ####### behavior. Once thought Freddy was one of the coolest people on the show.

Expecting normality from people in this line of work is a recipe for disappointment.

Maybe one of the producers told him that if he didn't manufacture some drama the show would be canceled because it's so freakin' boring and predictable. Freddy is a team player.

So when do we find out that Danny Chiu on the Time Bandit was really a professional comedian that Discovery hired to mess with Johnathan?

Stinks for Phillip Hillstrand though.

Yea that guy was a major d-bag. Would have loved to see him on wild bills boat pulling that stuff. Kinda weird Jonathan never had to deal with anything like that before, he's way to nice....

"Recently out of rehab for "all of the above," he is trying to live sober now. He has his able-bodied seaman card, and would like to captain and eventually have his own boat"

drugs are a mofo

it was so obvious he was high. i'm glad they're pulling the curtain back a little. i've known all along that drugs of all kinds are rampant in the industry. hell, a good portion of the regulars on the show are recovering addicts.

Yeah he was definitely wired but some of the bits where he knew he was on camera looked like he must have rehearsed it. When he gets called to the bridge and tries to hide under the tub and moves it along the deck, I was busting up but thought "Wonder how many takes did they do for that?"

Been thinking that there seems to be a whole lot of written "reality" story lines this season. Just so happens Jake is getting his first Captain gig the same day he has a kid? Along with that Chew clown, seems like this show has finally jumped it.

Jake Anderson - cuts bait on his relationship with the Hansons, for the second, and probably last, time, to throw in with team Elliott. I wonder how that decision is going to work out?

So Jake has really cut ties with his mentor? And Wild Bill looked like he should have been on the Time Bandit with the grief he gave the green horn with the infected hand.

:yucky: :X

Speaking of Time Bandit, that greenhorn with the replacement knee looked like another setup.

You seem to be confusing the Wizard with the Time Bandit. Though I'm not sure how that's possible. One has captains that are cool and fun to work with, the other has an insufferable #######.

Johnathan is pretty cool most of the time, but I think Andy can be about as big a ##### as anyone when he wants to be.

Keith is such a doosh though. Always preaching about what a badass captain he is and what a badass boat the Wizard is. The real badasses, like Sig and the NW, dont' have to be constantly telling people.

I loved how tough guy Jonathan had to sneak into town while the crazy crew guy slept.

What a badass.

Whole episode I'm thinking "They are going to be so pissed at the end of the game." Nick's (of NW) reaction to hearing the play over the radio was priceless.

Tony Lara, a commercial fishing ship captain who appeared on Discovery’s reality show “Deadliest Catch,” died Saturday while attending the annual motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota. He was 50.

Meade County Sheriff Ron Merwin said Lara died early Saturday morning in a private home in Sturgis, the Associated Press reported Monday. Autopsy results were not yet available to determine the cause of death.

Lara was a crabbing veteran who joined the cast of “Deadliest Catch” several years ago following the 2010 death of Phil Harris at age 53.

Like Harris, Lara served as captain of the Cornelia Marie, working with Phil’s son Josh in commercial crab fishing out of Kodiak, Alaska.

When reached for comment, Josh Harris replied "Told you I was right!"

Wow just saw an episode tonight and Josh Harris is talking about dire straights for the Conelia Marie but looking at his house and his Z-1 corvette he is certainelty not hurting. Makes me look at him in a completely different light now. Talking about things going under but he's living good. Show money is good to him.

Sig is such a POS... He stomps on Jakes grounds as a lesson to him for talking over the radio of what he was catching...

So Jake gets cornelia Maria to help block Sig and now Sig  about them not showing respect. :lmao:

Jake getting upset that Sig wasn't going to help him any more... umm he just did you a HUGE favor telling you about the squid... Old Sig wouldn't had said crap and let you fail. Between the heart attack last season and finding out he is going to be a Grandpa I think Sig is getting soft ;)

I thought he was more upset at his own crew.  But, yeah, Sig did him a major solid, and he should have nothing but gratitude towards him for it. He could have gone weeks and not caught on to what the problem is.

I found myself wondering how he can hang onto a captain's chair when the boat owner can see how things go by watching the show. Does the show pay them that much to keep him in a chair?

Jake has always been a little #####.

Josh Harris from the FV Cornelia Marie on not being included in season 13.

…We do not have a camera crew aboard this king crab season. This was not our decision, and it was not made by the owners nor the captains of the Cornelia. This was not a dispute over money. This was simply a decision made by production at Discovery. They have creative control over pretty much everything that airs on Deadliest Catch and, you know, we respect that.

We are fishermen and we will be doing what we love to do this king crab season, but we will be doing it alone. The film crew has been like a family to us, and their absence will weigh heavy in our hearts. It has been a pleasure to take you on my journey as I’ve grown—as a son, a grandson, a brother, a father, and a fisherman, and a captain. Your support has meant the world to me and it’s been quite a ride having all of you right there by my side. You have been with me through some of the best times of my life, and you have been there for the absolute worst day of my life. I consider all of you part of my family, and thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
