Jake is a good kid, just has the addiction bug. If he can get out from under that he is definitely capable of becoming a captain with some mentoring. He seemed to be pretty well put together before getting into pills.

Since season one, he would've gotten fired if it wasn't the fact that he was Phil's son. Now, maybe he's had drug issues the entire time. BUt I think he should take a year or 2 off from crabbing and try something else. perhaps it'll help him grow up.

Wow, if I was sitting at that table I would've thrown whatever I had within reach at Elliot's face. What a ########. I was thinking he might bite the bullet and apologize for bailing on them and jumping on the plane, but instead he starts railing on them before they even start crabbing. He should be happy they didn't throw him overboard.

I was prety down on Eliiot when he set down right on top of Junior while fishing for blue crab earlier in the season. But after last night, I feel kind of bad for the guy. He finally gets on the crab and gets that phone call. I think the ex filed that restraining order just to get him off her back. Did you see the look on her face when he tried to hug her when he first came into the house? And when he said he's "home" she said it's not his home. Clearly, she's done with him and has moved on and all he wants is to have her back. Feel bad for the guy, especially about the kids.
I also enjoyed the after the catch episode last night as well. I freaking love Junior and Sig is just the best captain going. All business. Makes no excuses for who he is, what he does and what it takes to succeed on the Bering Sea.

When he was on leave we heard her say "I'm going to have to ask you to leave now".. Hate to read too much into a few things.. but that statement + restraining order + his overall personality leads me to believe she is scared of him.Could be just his overall temper.. or maybe at one point there was a physical confrontation
But I am pretty sure we are not getting the whole story... yet

There's no way we know the whole story. She got the restraining order becaus she was afraid he was taking the kids to Mexico while he was on the Bering Sea. 
Yea sure Elliott. I know she's a woman, but she can't possibly be that stupid, way more to it than Elliott shared, no doubt.

I feel bad for him too, but I think his girlfriend probably isn't over-reacting. Elliot can't seem to let go, and with his dual citizenship, it wouldn't surprise me to seem him run to Mexico with the kids. His best bet is to just stay away with no contact for about a year to let things cool down. Then maybe he will at least be able to see his kids once in awhile.

Yeah, he's no Wild Bill or Keith. Has he ever yelled at a crew member? Elliott just doesn't have people's skills. He clearly doesn't know what to do in this situation. Don't know what the Alaska laws are like when it comes to custody, but it seems to me the way to is file for custody with Elliott getting supervised visits. We have absolutely no insight into what has gone on between them. None. Even to speculate is silly. She could just be a cold ##### and is sick of his semi-puppy dogish effort at trying to make it work or he could have put her through a wall at some point. We have no idea.

They focused mostly on Elliot last night, but it looks like Jake Harris pretty much wore out his welcome on the Northwestern. He doesn't have the drive to be a Captain or an owner. He just wants to sit on his ### all day, which is fine if you're at a desk job.
Elliot is a doosh. The only thing I feel bad for him about is that he can't see his kids. He obviously can not let go of things. It's painfully obvious it is over but he just keeps talking about getting her back. It's not going to happen, he needs to cut out the pining for her, and maybe he'll get a chance to see his kids.

My bad.. meant "temperament" not temper.. he just can't seem to get it through his head that there is no more "us".. So far we've learned she already has a new boyfriend.. but he still thinks they can get back together.. I hadn't seen the episode where they're at home. Jake Harris is screwed. The cig falling from his mouth as he's saying that he's clean would have been funny if it wasn't so sad. I think it was pretty cool of Josh to put it to him that they could go in on a boat together when it's painfully obvious that Jake is going to be a massive liability unless he gets a long, long stay in rehab and some sobriety under his belt. Obviously, there was conversation about drugs that was not filmed or was edited out. Did they sell the CM?
Jake Anderson has come a long way. I feel bad for the kid, but he seems to be growing into his shoes.

I agree, I couldn't believe what Jake looked like when he opened the door and was stunned when the cig fell out of his mouth. Josh is the real deal and I find myself really pulling for him. And I really like Jake Anderson too. Dude's had so much crap happen to him between his sister and dad dying....I was glad to hear he got married and looks to be getting his life moving in a very good direction. He's a hard worker and clearly puts in the effort to be all that he can be.

And I really like Jake Anderson too. Dude's had so much crap happen to him between his sister and dad dying....I was glad to hear he got married and looks to be getting his life moving in a very good direction. He's a hard worker and clearly puts in the effort to be all that he can be.

I highly doubt a judge would ever issue a restraining order based solely on the fact that one parent has dual citizenship. He's committed no crime. Judges can't issue restraining orders based on speculation of what may happen when there's no history of it happening.

Feeling sympathy now for Elliot versus cheering him to fail. What a clusterflock his life is. I like how his engineer stood up to him.
I thought it was an interesting exchange betweent the greenhorn who almost died and the vet deckhand that was making fun of him (Kodiak I think).
No sympathy for Jake Harris. His dad did him no favors (I think that temp captain touched on this).

Trying to shave while high? I like how at Jake Anderson's wedding, while not everyone was in a suit, they were all nicely dressed except Jake who looked like he just slapped a tie on the same clothes he's been wearing the past week. Backwards baseball cap is always appropriate for a wedding.

Keith is still a doosh even from 1,000s of miles away. 
He makes the most cuz he has a huge boat (can stay out longer). I'm guessing he rotates his crew (someone is always asleep) so his operation really never stops. Does this sound right as far as why he makes so much? I wonder if there is a set amount to pay deckhands or if each captain decides for themselves (maybe Keith just pays better). And lol at how happy everyone was with Keith gone.
