*** Official Detroit Tigers Bandwagon *** (2 Viewers)

Well after the much hyped gauntlet the tigers are 40-23. After series with Cleveland, the Yankes, BoSox,ChiSox and the Jays, which detroit went 7-9.

Considering the Bullpen finally let them down, Jones blew 2 and Rodney 1 save, it could have been even better.

They might not get in the playoffs this year, but the future is bright, imagine a rotation of Bonderman,Verlander, Andrew Miller, plus Zumaya/Rodney Closing.

Really this team need a Lefty bat, and another Starter.

Add Kyle Sleeth and Humberto Sanchez as well. Sleeth is coming back from Tommy John but with the success rate of that surgery I think he's still a frontline prospect and Sanchez is gold. Look for Humberto to make the team and be a spot starter next year. The Farnsworth for Colon and Minor trade looks pretty good now too. In Dombrowski we trust.

Robertson is fine as a 4th or 5th guy as is Maroth. I don't think I'd count on Miller next season though. As for a left hand bat, i agree. I'd LOVE to see a left handed (bat) every day 3rd baseman so Inge could go back to being a modern day Tom Brookens. As for this season, maybe a trade to the Cubbies for Todd Walker? wouldn't take much and he's better than Infanteago.

Oof...not a good start for Verlander...2 walks, a HR and a wild pitch...somewhoe it's only 1-0.
1 hitter through 4. Needs some run support now.
He rallied nicely after a shaky 1st inning.Awesome comeback in the bottom of the ninth. let's see if they can pull it out in extra innings.

Shelton needs to sit down for a few days......he is lost up there. Good win tonight to stay a game and a half up. I'm heading to Weds nights game.

We'll be there, bleeding our noses out.

Clearly, Shelton wasnt going to keep up the pace from the beginning of the year. But this guy has seriously fallen off the table in the last few weeks. The guy can't even get the ball in play right now.

The Red Pop has gone completely flat.

A lefthanded hitting firstbaseman is needed.
I've said it for a long, long time....Carlos Pena coulda been our Dave Bergman. Late inning D replacement who can hit the ocassional dinger. Too bad the Tigs kept Betty Ford Young instead. what a clubhouse killer he's been since he's been around.

I really used to like Al Kaline, Jim Northrup and Cash was it Norm. And Mickey Lolich one of the all time great hitting pitchers. Not to mention Denny Mclain and his 30 wins. What a team.
Willie Horton down?Seriously, the '68 Tigers were a lot of fun to follow. I was in 4th grade and the teacher let us watch the Series games in school. Chet the Janitor would sneak into the back of the classroom and sweep the same few square feet of floor for a couple hours while the game was on.

Bill Freehan, Don Wert, Mickey Stanley, Gates Brown...good times.

Ray oyler was my favorite.

you guys look good against KC and TB.

Yeah, and the Sox have really been tearing up those two teams  Quick look at the schedule (adding things up in my head so the numbers may not be accurate)

DET record vs KC and TB 10-0

CWS vs KC and TB 7-5

DET vs CLE and MIN 14-5

CWS vs CLE and MIN 10-9

They will be eliminated before the Tigers will have to play in the playoffs.

Rule #1 of sports. WIN THE GAMES YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO WIN!
Rule #2:Beat all the Chicago teams as many times as possible because thay always get froggy after one of their teams has a good season, but seem to forget they get :own3d: for decades at a time.

Rule #3;

Beat all the Cleveland teams so we don't have to hear about the Indians World Series of 1948 when Truman had tea with Bob Feller in the Rose Garden.

:cavs/browns/indians: = city of champions

:bye:

Welcome to the Midwest Trash Talk Forum. :pokey:
People underestimate Midwest fans sports fervor. I say go to a Wisconsin/Michigan college football game or a Blackhawks/Red Wings game to see how screwy and involved we are. That would of course take the Blackhawks being any good, but 2027 is fast approaching.

I'm not really ripping on the Tigers. I'm happy for you guys. Last year was great, so I know what you guys are going through. It would be nice to see two teams from the Central get into the playoffs.

Right now both are at least 3 games up on the top Eastern teams.

It would be AWESOME to have 2 from the Central in it!

That would mean either the Yankees or Red Sox would be out. Yeah....I could live with that.
