Three things went terribly wrong tonight:

1) Tigs lost. :hot:

2) mlb.com TV is useless. :hot:

3) mlb.com TV is even more useless with a baby screaming the whole time. :hot:

All three things will be rectified tomorrow night:

1) Tigs will win.

2) I will be at the game.

3) I will be at the game minus baby.

Noose tightened around the White Sox throat???

Where are those Chisox fans???  They even have athread?
When was the last pennant race for the Tigers again? 1968?This is a little flat spot. The Sox have proven what they are capable of in important games and series.
Didn't they beat the livin snot out of the Padres team the ripped the hearts out of Cub fans back in '84?

yepand ask Blue Jays fans all aobut 1987.

but it's been awhile

So this makes the Tigers 3.5 games AHEAD of the WS right? Pretty cool watching the best two teams in baseball go at it! I'll be there thursday.
If you sit behind home plate, please don't be a #### like the guy last night who kept waving the red shirt while Garland was pitching.weak

Interesting to note that if the Tigers are going to get to the next level they need to get past the Sox. They could win the division but they have that deer in the headlights look going with this team. The Tigers are solid but I have no idea why the Sox just own them. I will take it. Important game this evening...

I will definitely not being doing that! Might spill my beer.

VERY important game tonight. This is Bonderman's time to shine. He has to be the ace this second half of the season.

It would be good for them to beat the White Sox tonite. Though to be fair, getting swept by the Yanks isn't scaring the White Sox either. Just get in the playoffs and worry about the matchups then. There's only about a 25% chance of the WhiteSox & Tigers meeting then anyways, both would have to beat their first round opponent.

Exactly. And anything can happen in a short series.

Got my tickets today for the 9th against Min. Got tix for the 6 (Cle), 9 (Min) and 22 (CWS).

Cant wait for august baseball!

Thought that hit by Magglio was gonna drop. Woulda been nice to jump out in the first.

Checked out Tig's schedule for the rest of July and August. WOW. Pretty tough.

2nd all of that and box seats are sweet... GB Monroe that was the sweetest moment I have ever had at a ballpark. My Dad and I jumping to our feet the same time as 40,000 others was incredible... I think it also convinced my Dad to get playoff tix if they make it (seeing as I don't have the funds to do so :P ) Great game, great belated father's day gift and great parking ($7 a block away).

About time somebody hit a ball hard
You can make fun all you want. I just saw a Tiger crowd erupt like I haven't seen in 20 years.Pretty freakin' awesome stuff.
  My dad looked over at me and goes reminds me of '84... there was a pretty slick wave goin on for awhile too. :D

 I was watching the game with my softball team and a couple of them said the same thing after Monroe's grand slam: feels like '84.

I disagree. 1984 was unique. The excitement level among fans was there even before the season started. The 35-5 start lit a fire which never went out over the course of that season.

These 2006 Tigers are fun to follow, but we shouldn't expect them to replicate the specialness of '84.

Nice win for you Tiger fans. No excuses here. Bonderman was solid while Vasquez could not keep from the big inning. Credit the Tigers for the rally. Hope the fans are enjoying this and it sure seems that they are. Starting to bring big excitement back to the AL Central. Sox need to get that game back if they play today...

:goodposting: Central = Best Division in Baseball, period. All four teams are playoff caliber (despite CLE record, still have good talent)... KC is not a team :D

Yeah Ed Farmer said that he looked OK after the slide. I was listening on the radio in Chicago and you could just feel the excitement and the crowd! It is like playoff baseball!

Like I said it was the coolest game I've ever been too. I celebrated with strangers around me it was crazy. I think having a top rival helps out a lot too.

Good for you! I was doing the same at US Cellular when the Sox beat the Bo Sox in the first game of the Div. Playoffs. Great times. I must tell you that you heard the crack of that homer. Farmer said- "here is the pitch" and then crack! I just knew it was gone by the sound on an AM radio! I know I want the Sox to win so bad but I would rather see the Tigers win it all then those teams on the east coast and the quiche eating west coast teams....

I was hoping to sneak out of work to catch today's game, but the weather does NOT look good.
It may be delayed a bit but I think we'll get it in. I'm headed down. Elwood at Noon!
Hope you're right!If I go, I'll be in Section 117, Row 6, Seat 24
I'll be somewhere out in RF. My buddy has the tix and he's a GM engineer. I'll have 8 beers to his 1 I'm sure. He's driving so that's ok.How many season tix do you have?

1984 was a special year. Before the season there was a huge buzz in the air comparing that team to the 1968 team (just fell short in the previous season). But, it seamed the 84 team jumped out to leads early during the season instead of making comebacks, like this team is. I was not around in 68, but I have talked to people who were. These people tell me that this team is like th 68 team. All I have to say is that I will enjoy it as long as it lasts.
