Official Dez Bryant (2 Viewers)

Dez is such a child.  I am amazed that someone as psychologically soft as he is was able to make it as far as he has.  Very impressive actually.

Stay away from the Browns, please. I am not a Browns fan but I am rooting for them this year and don’t want him poisoning their locker room.

No they aren't. No chance for Dez in Seattle.

They have Baldwin and Lockett, and Marshall and Brown have both played great throughout camp and preseason. Seattle is probably set at WR1-4.
Everyone can trash talk Dez, but he's far better than everyone not named D.Baldwin on that WR roster.

As dumb and emotionally soft as this guy is, there are several teams that could use him on the field.  Even if he can't get out of breaks, he's still a big target.  He will end up on a team.

If he indeed has turned down $5m+, he is misreading the situation.  Figure he'll end up getting like $3m and having to give some speech about how the situation is better than where he was offered more.

It's worth paying Dez more than $5M just to use him in the RZ, if you can handle him in the locker room. He'll sign somewhere.

lol at the idea of the SEA...imagine he and BMarsh in the same locker room

It's not just about "better". It's about that, but also about money (not just Dez's, but for others as well) and culture/locker room fit. Put it all together, and no chance for Dez in Seattle IMO.

Exactly.

Dez's behavior since Dallas cut him pretty much shows why no team has signed him yet.  Yes, he can still play and be a solid number 2 or 3 WR, but he's not a difference maker anymore.  A desperate team will probably grab him sometime soon, most likely, but it's pretty clear why he is still a FA.

Free agent Dez Bryant tweeted he "will play ball this year."

He added it "just might be a lil bit later in the year." Reportedly offered less than $5 million by the Browns, Bryant is clearly unhappy with his market, writing he "gave to[o] much love and not received at least half back." Perhaps he will be someone to target on the waiver wire later this season, but Bryant is not worth drafting in most formats.

It is a shame.  He could have been in Baltimore. Could have been playing on a team that is always competitive.  Instead, he is still getting himself right because he couldn't call his shot and then couldn't get a high salary from a lower tier team.  It is a shame.  He is near the end.  He should have shot for the championship and not revenge.

That’s what Ryan Grant thought too...

Yeah. I have a rookie draft starting Thursday and I think I'm going to cut him. Talk about value falling off a cliff...

Doubt it. They have plenty of weapons with spellers coming back, Aghalor, Ertz. Jeffery might play week 1 still, though it sounds like he’ll miss a game or 2.

I don’t think the Eagles want the headache, and Dez hasn’t been very good in a while. Lacks burst off the line, can’t get separation for ####, and doesn’t win the 50-50 battles anymore. And he’ll complain to the media if things are going south, so you get a bad citizen, too.

Seems like a terrible fit.

12-team live auction tonight with deep rosters and Dez was not even rostered.
FA In one of my leagues.

Last round pick in my other league - and dude was mocked by pretty much everyone when he put the sticker up.

Funniest part was he’d just drafted a DB who’s out for the season (Cyprien) so by Comparison Dez was a solid pick.

No, the Eagles like WR's who know how do run proper routes and don't throw a hissy fit on the sideline when they don't get the ball thrown to them.

ESPN's Josina Anderson reports the Browns are "still not certain [free agent Dez Bryant] wants to play football."

Bryant to the Browns should once again be a hot topic with Cleveland deciding to move on from Josh Gordon, but Anderson's report suggests the Browns are not actively pursuing the former Cowboy. For what it is worth, Anderson was also told, presumably by someone close to the receiver, Bryant wants to play football and "actually loves [GM John Dorsey], [coach Hue Jackson], and the team in general." It is unlikely this is the last we hear of a possible Bryant, Browns connection.

For those of you, like me, that still have Dez filling a dynasty bench roster slot, how much longer will you wait before swapping him out for some prospect?

I think the emergence of Landry as a team leader has made the Browns rethink adding Bryant.  They do not want to change that locker room dynamic.

It seems to me that history says Bryant's whole plan of a prove it season is now doomed to failure.  Even if a key WR gets injured and he is signed, its very hard for a QB and WR to get timing right in the middle of the season.  WR may be the position that is least able to plug and play new guys from outside the organization.

Personally, I can not think of a single wide receiver that was added to an organization after week one that went on to be a significant contributor that season.  (Maybe Josh Gordon will prove to be an exception.)  Not even Cris Carter did much his first season with the Vikings and he was added prior to week one.

Honest question... can anyone else think of one?... a WR that was added to a team after week one by trade or FA signing that went on to be a significant contributor that season?

I am thinking that if he does not sign in the next week, the only option left for him will be a return to the Cowboys, and we all know the chance of that happening.

I am in four dynasties. I have Dez in a 16-team IDP and haven't considered dropping him, even though my WRs are pretty good for a league that size (Hopkins, Michael Thomas, Tyler Lockett, John Brown and DJ Moore on taxi). His value couldn't be lower, and he instantly gains some of it back if he signs, so maybe someone desperate at WR will trade for him.

He has not been dropped in my other three dynasties (all 12-team leagues), including one FFPC dynasty that is notorious for roster-churning.

Nothing left in the tank and a clubhouse cancer to boot. Not a lot of teams begging for a piece of that. Buffalo might take a look, as they have nothing to lose. If Baldwin remains gimpy, maybe he ends up in SEA. Carroll doesn’t seem to have issues with Dez types.  I don’t see any team giving him big money though

Hes just never been the same after his foot/ankle surgeries in 2015.  Shame, as he’s only 29

Doesn’t hurt much to hold but he’s not instantly gaining a bunch of value unless he has a couple of monster games, which is very unlikely at this point. Best case is probably getting in shape and wanting to play next offseason. I don’t blame him, I’d take the money and retire if I was him.
