I went 45% of my budget in my dynasty. If it was re-draft, I think I'd go less. Just afraid he takes this opportunity and stakes a claim on the lead role for next year, didn't want to miss on that. My league is deep, 50-man rosters, 10 teams. He should have already been rostered.

Thinking of playing CAP instead if Washington... I don't expect much from Washington this week except for people to crow on how bad his stat line looks after all this hype

FWIW. In two high-stakes Vegas leagues, Washington went for 34% in one league and 44% in another.

Can't believe people pay for that... last year sig said to spend 50% of your faab on c mike, the next week drop him, the next week after that 40%.don't want to give away much from paid subscribers, but Sig has him at a higher % range then your 25-30%
His ww upgrade downgrade is worthless. Glad I stopped paying and just purchased DD app

Here's where I'm at so far..
12-team PPR - got him for free on Yahoo when the waivers opened up at 3am EST
12-team PPR - spent 7.7% of my budget
ffpc main event - just finished processing, got him with 20% of my budget
ffpc VP league - still waiting for it to process, bid 15%
In ffpc leagues I spend early and often because the waivers are generally a wasteland (10 player benches)

Keep going back and forth right now. I could drop Ajayi for Wahington for free, kinda want to but with Foster down too I keep wavering.
I LOVE that no one is talking about McCluster. PPR gold and available practically for free.don't want to give away much from paid subscribers, but Sig has him at a higher % range then your 25-30%

Why should I be? The team went out and got someone shiny and new while already having Farrow in the fold. Whis has a history with him, as well.
I heard some podcast talking about how McCluster was being "reunited with Whisenhunt". I mean, that's literally true, but isn't that phrase usually used to connote previous success? In two years in Tenn, McCluster had 57 receptions, less than 800 YFS and two TDs. If the Bills signed Brandon Browner, would those same people be talking about how he was "reunited with Rob Ryan"?
Hey, if you want to take a flier on him, knock yourself out. I just think the guy's been dining out on unjustified hype for six years now.

As a Foster owner in one league I pursued Washington over Ajayi/Drake. It's close - both teams don't run much (MIA ranked 30th in rushing attempts per game, DET 21st) and both backfields will form a committee
The true tie breaker for me was the extent of Foster and Abdullah's injuries.

And my last waiver processed and I won him for 15%. I officially own him everywhere which is good news for you guys because it means I'll be uploading vids of his touches on a weekly basis.

McCluster is the ultimate tease
This isn't Madden. You don't just throw a guy in and he starts producing like woodhead. The fact that people actually think mccluster can do what woodhead does just shows how grossly underappreciated woodhead is. He is very good at what he does. Mccluster is nothing like woodhead. Anyone who thinks he's going to be, knock yourself out but don't be butt hurt when statements like what was made come back to haunt you.

Hmm, thanks SSND. Yeah, Foster out a month vs AA out 8+ weeks? I agree with that being the tie breaker, although my current RBs kind of suck. Arghhh tough decision

I got him for 45% in one FPC league and the next highest was 10%. In my other FPC league he went for 37% next highest bid was 35%.
In the league I got him Asiata went 45%, Payne 30%, Fozy 30%.... Go figure.

There was just a tiny small difference in the number targets Woodhead was getting in San Diego and the number McCluster was getting in lil ole Tennessee.

the faab numbers u guys are quoting are close to what i heard on xm fantasy radio today and i'm kind of surprised. i got him for a dollar over minimum bid, not even sure if anyone else had a bid on him. most went big on fozzy and mckinnon as expected. he was in the top 10 most added on cbs this morning, i see him at #5 now so the news on him must have been slow to come around. most people probably assumed riddick was the default there.

Riddick is not going to be able to pound the ball unless you are looking for 2 or 3 yards per carry. I watched all preseason as he tried to show he wasn't just a passing back. He looks like he bulked up and is really pushing hard to be the full time running back. I don't think the Lions would be wise to put him in that situation unless it was absolutely necessary.
If the Lions use him as an early down back I will give him two weeks and he will be hurt. Washington looked nothing short of spectacular on a couple plays in the preseason. He has the body to pound the ball, and what most big back don't have....speed. Now all he needs is the opportunity, which it seems he will get. Hopefully he can pass block, because that is something I haven't seen in his limited regular season playing time.

Bid about 40-45% in my FPC leagues. Missed on one where the winning bid was >50%. Where I won, the typical next highest bid was around 30%. I got him in one league for 456 and next highest bid was 455.
I figured he has starter potential and there's a lot of teams with RB problems, so right or wrong I felt OK with the price.

30 pounds is a big difference when you're "working between the tackles for your size"
He's nothing to get overly excited about, but feel free to blow your wad acquiring him. I'll come back and eat my crow after the season if necessary (spoiler: that's very unlikely).
To be fair, I view mccluster about as valuable as pre Martin injury Charles Sims. And I love Sims. Anyone who thinks they are getting woodhead numbers may be disappointed, but 4-6 receptions again is reasonable. Woodhead had value because he was used efficiently in the pass game and got goal line carries

This week should be the biggest test of the season for young Washington. I've been following him closely since week 1 of the preseason when he scored the kick return touchdown. I drafted him August 14 in my 12 team dynasty rookie/free agent draft, nabbed him at the 44th pick. He did get goal-line work in the preseason by the way and converted on both a short goal line carry and on a two point conversion in the third game. He's also liked two of my tweets on twitter (so I guess you could say things are getting serious).
Seriously though, I'm proud of what he has accomplished thus far, he seems like a good guy to me. That said, this week represents the biggest test of the season for him against a stout Packers defense. We'll see how he does. I continue to like his overall prospects regardless though.

70/30 to Riddick and Washington getting GL. At least immediately. Washington's role could grow if Riddick is less effective running

I'm sorry, and I welcome anyone who regularly watches Detroit to disagree, but in my opinion there is no way Riddick will take one typical RB1 workload. For people not familiar with him beyond his numbers, it looks and sounds like a good idea, but I just don't see it happening. As has been mentioned in this thread, Riddick is not your traditional RB, and has not been used as such while with the Lion's. I honestly can't think of a current comparison, because most of the pass catching backs (Sproles, Woodhead, Sims, Bernard, etc.) are more natural and better runners than Riddick. Riddick is an excellent receiver out of the backfield, but does not run with power, and is not good at all between the tackles.
Someone will emerge as the standard 2 down + GL back here in Detroit, and it appears Washington has the first shot. I will come eat my crow if it's Riddick, but I'm close to certain I won't have to. Riddick will most likely remain in the role he currently fills, with a slight uptick in carries, but there is little chance he starts seeing 15 - 18 carries per game.
As far as the split, I would bet one Riddick seeing the same catches, maybe 6 - 8 carries on average. Whoever emerges as the "big back", whether it's Washington, Zenner, or Bell, will see 10 - 15 carries per game, depending on game script, with a couple catches per game, and all of the short yardage TD's.

I don't even think it's a matter of him holding up. He's on the small side, but backs his size have been able to perform as workhorses. It's just his ability, he is a slot receiver lining up in the backfield, almost like a slightly less explosive Tavon Austin. He has been, and will continue to be, ineffective when used as a traditional running back. He came in to this season with a career 2.9 ypc on 72 carries over 3 years, and that is running from passing sets, against nickel/dime defenses. There is something to be read from that.

As its being mentioned in here, Riddick isn't a 3 down back
Picked DW up in free agency (our league does not use budgets).
Dropped Abdullah for him in a keeper league, hoping no one else will want to waste a roster spot on AA for the next 8+ weeks, and maybe I can pick him back up as a potential keep for next year. If it works out great, and if not no sleep lost here....

Riddick does so well in the passing game why mess that up? The big thing on Washington is he's got size, speed and can do it all. Maybe eventually he does, but that's not likely happening anytime soon

I am in 14 team dynasty and was 14 on the waiver wire order and got him yesterday. Sure glad the news didnt come out until later that day.
Riddick was #2 in the league last year in Targets and receptions for RBs just a couple behind Woodhead.
Riddick looks better this year, why is he all of a sudden a candidate for more bench time?
