I think I'm about to drop him in dynasty as well - a healthy scratch is never good. Especially when we're talking about Detroit's fourth stringer.Officially out in redraft. Holding in dynasty. Not happening this year for swag
I think it proves he lost his opportunity, which in the NFL is almost as important as talent.I'm here. He got hurt at a terrible time. It doesn't prove anything but you guys are a bunch of babies that didn't plan well for your teams. He was my 5th or 6th RB. I'll probably drop him in dynasty as well but might pick him up at the end of the year as a stash player.
Just read Theo is back at practice today.
(*CRACK*)
That sound you heard was the window of opportunity closing.
I still believe the opportunity is here. No one has taken it from him.
I don't understand this.. you thought he was going to take Riddick's role in the offense? (well yeah, kinda think the DET coaching feels the same way with the healthy scratch, don't you?)
They have the same skill set. (Riddick and Washington have the same skillset and Riddick starts when healthy? Imagine that. Zenner is also activated!)
Nobody was expecting Washington to keep Riddick off the field. We were hoping he would take AA's role. (He isn't fit for that role, at least Det doesn't think so.)
Size does not = power ... His skill set suits a time share with Zenner imo. Rolling out Swaggy and Theo hasn't worked in the past as they are essentially the same guy ... Theo is already there doing that for them in that role, so what upside is left?
It is as though you are completely unaware of how the Lions use their Rbs.
Riddick and Washington was always the plan. (It was? Well maybe not always.)![]()
It isn't complicated, and Riddick being back does not change anyone's expectations.(No, its not complicated.)
![]()
Mnm is right that currently Washington doesn't fully use his size to his advantage yet. He's raw. He's great in open space/receptions where he has a rare combo of size and speed. So yes, receptions are a strength, much like Riddick.
Healthy Scratch? Riddick starts.WTF! Inactive per NFL.com
Riddock seems to fit their offense quite well. Whoever else is on the roster appears to be fighting for Theo's scraps. The effort put into hating this guy is staggering. I don't understand the emotional investment from @mnmplayer Kinda weird.
Once again.. nobody took the job this week.
Riddick hasn't had north of 11 carries all year. The team is 24th in the league averaging 3.9 yards/carry, 89 yards per game, 3 whole rushing TDs on the year. Plenty of "scraps" for a player that can take the role.Riddock seems to fit their offense quite well. Whoever else is on the roster appears to be fighting for Theo's scraps.
Not if the offense doesn't care about banging it between the tackles. Theo put up 131 and a TD on 19 touches. Like I added above. If Washington pans out, the logic used above was worth the wait. If he doesn't pan out for the logic you use, we waste a bench spot. Won't be the last time. Not if the offense doesn't care about banging it between the tackles. Theo put up 131 and a TD on 19 touches. I don't think they care about how Theo gets his touches.
Theo appears to be the clear lead back and he is performing quite well in that role.
And he has been running much better over his last two games.

Why are you so upset over this thread in particular (also you realize your posts bump the thread too)? There's always trash to sort through in the forum... like 9 threads on the GB RB situation. Washington has some talent.. the team liked him at one point, and he got hurt. I still maintain the complementary role to Riddick is there for the taking.I can't believe this is front page again. Can we please stop bumping this until there's actual reason to? 40 pages of hype and that has translated to nothing.
That doesn't mean we should add to it. And don't you find it annoying to have to sort through the trash? There's always trash to sort through in the forum...
I would rather be made aware of high upside stashes than have multiple threads discussing the SAME THING. That's a much bigger frustration to me than something like this thread. This stash hasn't panned out. I sure wish someone was running a hype train for Cameron Meredith so all of us could've taken that ride. That doesn't mean we should add to it. And don't you find it annoying to have to sort through the trash?
I'm not saying the thread doesn't have a purpose and shouldn't exist. But it has continuously been bumped constantly since it's creation. It gets old checking the thread thinking that something significant has taken place only to be updated on who people are going to keep Dwayne on their roster in place of.
I promise not to bump it anymore.I can't believe this is front page again. Can we please stop bumping this until there's actual reason to? 40 pages of hype and that has translated to nothing.
The fact that he was a healthy scratch seems pretty significant. That doesn't mean we should add to it. And don't you find it annoying to have to sort through the trash?

Look through the posts and see how many of them actually added to the discussion and were relevant. So many of them were "who should I add" or "I'm keeping him over ___". Like I said, I'm not saying the thread doesn't have merit. I'm saying that the same people that give updates that they're not giving up yet, they're hanging onto them, what does that do? Nobody here cares about anybody else's team. That is what keeps this thread bumped all the time. If there is good reason to bump a thread, by all means do so. I don't know why you've taken offense to what I said. It goes for any thread. The needless bumping of posts to give people status updates about your FF team is pointless.I would rather be made aware of high upside stashes than have multiple threads discussing the SAME THING. Would much prefer to be made aware of high upside stashes than not. This thread has been cluttered by pissing matches - end of story.
The problem have with this thread is I'm subscribed to and don't know how to unsubscribe. These notifications on my mobile app about Dwayne "I have done nothing in the NFL to warrant any attention" Washington make want to throw my phone out of the window. Why are you so upset over this thread in particular (also you realize your posts bump the thread too)? I started this thread as a dynasty buy... there's no reason for me to bail on him on deep dynasty rosters either, at least not at this point, given what's available in my leagues. I never said he was going to win leagues or anything like that. I'm not sure why there's such vitriol against a high upside stash that hasn't panned out -- and may never. Who cares?
Perhaps I misunderstood you -- it seemed to me that you felt the thread was completely worthless. I was arguing the thread isn't worthless... it's the pissing matches in between that cause the problem.Look through the posts and see how many of them actually added to the discussion and were relevant. I don't care about anyone else's team either but the "I'm keeping him over ___" posts actually have some value as it can help inform decisions. If you're keeping him over, say, Smallwood or Dixon or another flavor of the week I am interested to know why because I am likely facing the same decision and maybe it will provide just a shade more information than I would have had previously.Tommy Collins said:Look through the posts and see how many of them actually added to the discussion and were relevant. Since when is saying the truth, and then being right about a situation being called hating? I actually was interested to see Swaggy with Riddick on the bench 2 weeks back, but he never played. The effort put into hating this guy is staggering. I don't understand the emotional investment from @mnmplayer Kinda weird.
Once again.. nobody took the job this week.
Last week I simply stated matter of factly that the window of opportunity was now shut the moment Riddick came back to practice. I thought this was obvious, actionable information to all. You're piped in with a condescending comment saying "it's not complicated" and that this "was always in the plan."With Riddick out he actually has an increased shot to be productive as he closely aligns with Ty Montgomery's RB style of play rather than Zenner's. I think Zenner/Washington would be a nice combo long term if Riddick is out. We can see from GB that Ty Montgomery can be very productive in that role along with Riddick and White in NE.
Sharc West seemed like a better hold last week. Look at the opportunity cost. You could have had a whole host of "proven" players with more upside by now. Even fliers like Ty Mongomery have paid off. (Weebs, I won't claim I won my league if West or Ty plays well next week. You don't ned to come here and point that out if thy have a bad game.)Washington has a history of having problems staying healthy. His running style lends itself to opening himself up for injury (upright, long strider, not good lean/pad level). You have to be healthy to break out, after all and Washington isn't healthy right now. When faced with the Howard or Washington decision 3-4 weeks back, I argued for Howard.
Fast forward to a real time decision today and I would rather place my bets with Rawls/Dion Lewis type guys at the back end of my roster, guys who have proven to be productive in the past (and who are also injured on the wire in many leagues). Rostering Washington is based upon hope/hype for future production splitting time in an offense that has shown lack of opportunity/past production for DET RBs. Just my .$02.
Worth holding as a lottery ticket, but the chances of hitting the jackpot got a lot smaller after being a healthy scratch this week.yoadrian said:Look, bottom line is, if you have the space on your bench, he is no sooner than 2 weeks away from a possible start on your team, could be longer especially if you have better more reliable options. But by then, Starks, D Lewis even Rawls could be better options. So hope you got deep benches. Notice I'm not saying to drop him, just saying most people probably should.
These thesis posts are indicative of trying way too hard.Since when is saying the truth, and then being right about a situation being called hating? I actually was interested to see Swaggy with Riddick on the bench 2 weeks back, but he never played.

Now you come back to say that I am "emotionally invested" to hate Washington instead of just saying I was right about the situation? Take a step back and look at how foolish you are acting. It's even less complicated now. Are you really going to continue to roster him as a healthy scratch week to week? Yeah, I am the one that is emotionally invested ... How could anyone logically look at this situation and assess he is a good hold after what happened last week? It simply amazes me this continues on week to week. I don't expect you will fess up that I was right, because that simply doesn't happen in the Shark pool very often, but usually these guys just melt away into the background and the thread dies, but to continue to keep him as a stash after a healthy scratch last week? Where is the upside or the opportunity in this offense?Sharc West seemed like a better hold last week. Look at the opportunity cost. Just ask mnm how Howard is doing.
Howard heard that noise a few weeks ago.
What ever makes u feel better about your Howard call buddy.
Neither were but the way you kept bringing up Howard you acted like he won you your league already.
Weebs, you're doing all the work for me, bro. Got any other pearls of wisdom?Eh? scroll back to the timing of my call and when it was made. Are you saying I made the wrong call and Washington was the play (over Howard)?
Maybe it's just ... too complicated. These thesis posts are indicative of trying way too hard.
I traded him for sanders? News to me. What does that have to do with choosing Howard (who just dropped 200 yards on the best defense in the league) over the Inactive (healthy)Washington? 5 points after the bye week? Another nice call by you I am sure, (You start him? Most people didn't. Enjoy your 5 points after the bye week . It's funny because you traded him for Sanders. How did that work out for you?
) especially since Kadeem Carey and Lankyford were both healthy for this game and Howard still started. Washington can't even make the active roster. Howard has 3 100 yard games under his belt in only 5 starts. How many does Washington have?Since you have started posting in this thread you keep bringing up Howard vs Washington. Most people who grabbed Washington did not have the choice to grab Howard. You are delusional so go ahead an keep patting yourself on the back for choosing Howard over Washington while not many people in this thread had that choice lol. You have talked about Howard in almost every single one of your posts in here based off one person who chose Washington over Howard, you are ridiculous. The only time you have not talked about Howard in this thread was when you went arm chair scout and were blabbering about how Washington runs to upright. The hype was out of control that someone posted they were bypassing Howard to pick up Washington. I did not bring it up but was the only one in 41 pages of this hyped thread that said in real time this was a massive mistake.
Then you brought up Howard in a condescending way as if to say he was just as bad a pickup as Washington which is laughable ... which I quoted.
Where did I introduce Howard in this thread? I only refuted that Washington was a better pickup than Howard, and was definatley in the minority with this opinion ... in this thread anyway.
Your reasoning and false claims are as bad as your calls.
Dude. You lost. Admit. Eat your crow and move on lol. Howard just blew up and spewed crow all over your face. Very good advice in the bolded.rickyg said:Dude. You lost. Admit. Eat your crow and move on lol. Howard just blew up and spewed crow all over your face. Lol
Not true. You have an interesting take on reality. Last Wednesday my only post brought actionable advice based upon news that Theo Riddick was back ... as I explained Riddick would keep him off the field ... opportunity window closed ... and that's EXACTLY what happened. Then you mucked up the thread with "how's Howard doing?" In fact, you brought up Howard four times (quoted above) as attacks against me in an attempt to make me look bad, yet you say I am the one bringing him up repeatedly.Weebs210 said:You have talked about Howard in almost every single one of your posts in here based off one person who chose Washington over Howard, you are ridiculous. By the way, he's doing fine, but Swaggy has outside chance to outscore Howard next week.
Don't have time to read but find the time to sit on the forums and respond within seconds and litter this 41 page thread with daily commentray? It's probably better for you that you don't read it, for your sake. Smart move.Tldr
