Coming out of no where, got an offer for me to trade away Puca.

Ha. Same thing happened to me last night. Unfortunately, it was my copy of Puka for Zay Flowers, a late 2026 2nd (team is stacked) and a late 4th. So far off I didn't even counter.

This offer came in right after I updated my trade bait putting CMC and Bucky out there and stating I was looking for WRs

What do you expect value wise for either Irving or McCaffrey? Just putting players on the block and expecting offers may require more from you and may need for you to make some offers since it is you that wants to trade. I admit making an offer for Nacua went against your trade bait. If there is one thing I’ve learned, is that a lot of people want others to make the first offer even though they are the ones who want to trade. Not saying this is you, but I’m amazed at how many are scared to make offers, even if it is them wanting to trade, or just refuse to. Have you sent out any offers after posting your players on the block? Or are you just waiting for offers from others? Have you had any private discussions for what value you're expecting for your players on the block? I would say that 99% of the trades I make are offers I initiate, or after having some discussion about expectations from a trade, not just what position I seek. For some reason I very seldom make a trade where someone makes me an offer and I make a lot of trades. Sometimes I may get a counter that I accept, but the first offer almost always comes from me. That tells me that people may want to trade, but don't like to make the first offer. We could actually do a deep dive on that pyschology.

Well, I typically lead the league in trades in pretty much every league I play in and most are initiated by me, so there's zero fear of making an offer. Updating the trade bait is just a way of sparking additional interest. This is a new league for me so haven't got a feel for all the league members as of yet. But I believe I have made more trades than anyone else in this league since I took over the team.

Yes I have Richardson and no I don't love this deal but I have a feeling I'm going to be able to parlay something here.

In my system this is me giving 15 + 12 for Stevenson and the 2nd, +14 for two cleared roster spots and I got back 15 + 12 for Jones and Pickett and I have Sinnott worth 10 so I guess I'm losing 4 pts but the two roster spots for my partner here are not necessarily worth their full value that I ascribe to them. That would be inseason or before March cuts. Roster spots are relatively cheap this time of year.

A few things to remember about Sinnott: He had the highest vert (40"), longest broad jump (10'6"), and fastest 3 cone (6.82) of any TE in his class at the combine. He also had the 2nd best RAS score (9.72) of any TE in his class. So the upside is there, he just has to earn more reps, which was understandably difficult the way Ertz balled out last year.

Just curious, why do you feel that way? Not a fan of his potential?

Showed close to absolutely zero. Ran 24 routes without Ertz on the field and got one target. Only 5 targets on 99 routes run all year. That's horrible per route run and horrible he could not earn more playing time. We are seeing rookie TE's perform a lot better over the years but he barely showed signs of life on a team that badly needed some pass catching help.

Other big key because I know everyone is seeing the Ertz/Kingsbury tie-in. When Arizona drafted McBride they already had Ertz on a long term contract and only took a few games into McBride's second season to start a changing of the guard. After seeing Sinnott for a year Washington decided it would be best to bring resign Ertz and bring him back.

Not going to say he can't be nothing, which is why I said I'd value him like a 5th-which is the round I took Gadsen in a few drafts. Just think odds are pretty low for him.

I know all that and shows he's a good athlete which along with decent draft capital is why I took a shot on him in round two last year of a rookie draft even though people I trust in the lead up to the draft were saying he projected more as an H-Back/FB then pure TE. I think they be proven right, have been a lot of good athletes not pan out. Don't think Ertz play last year should have been in his way if he had showed something.

I think it's an overpay but I would assume you're both talking about short roster FFPC leagues here right? I think Sinnott has more value in a traditional league where it's easier to roster guys that are just sitting for a few years. FFPC is kind of a different beast for guys like this and the league format depresses their value a lot.

Could the others eventually over take Ferguson in production/rankings - sure but right now Ferg is the one I would take to score me points this year. I own shares of the other guys but it might take a year or three to get them rolling. TEs usually need some seasoning if they aren't of Bowers quality.

100% great move for you. Kittle will likely be the #1 target in this offence with Deebo gone and Aiyuk coming off injury. I've owned Kittle the last 2 years and helped me win a chip. Hock had the ACL issue and wasn't quite 100% last year. New rookie QB and there could be struggles or inconsistency.

You have a win now team and I like the move. Gotta swing big! I also think Kittle has at least 2 more years so you can try to run it again next year too.

Could have but lots has changed since his big season. ACL, different QBs, Addison getting more experience.

With Kittle we know at worst he's the #2 for Purdy with most times the #1 read. Can't say the same for Hock. He's #2 or 3 with a rookie QB. I still think Hock is a good player but production wise there could be a struggle until we see how they use him. Maybe Hock will be the security blanket/check down for JJ if Jefferson is covered - in that case it could go well but a lot of ifs and praying.

I have Hock for cheap in an auction dynasty but I will admit I'm a bit cautious on his production this year until I see how it plays out.

I was talking about Terrence Ferguson, who I thought was the Ferguson we were talking about, since someone mentioned Ferguson as part of a group of 3rd rounders.

Agreed. The Arroyo, Fannin, Ferguson, Mason Taylor group are largely 3rd rounders. Sinnott feels like similar value.

I agree and at this point it isn't close. Ferguson is the one guy in that group that has done it before (Finished TE8 with 100 targets in his second year). Could the others eventually over take Ferguson in production/rankings - sure but right now Ferg is the one I would take to score me points this year. I own shares of the other guys but it might take a year or three to get them rolling. TEs usually need some seasoning if they aren't of Bowers quality.

I was talking about Terrence Ferguson, who I thought was the Ferguson we were talking about, since someone mentioned Ferguson as part of a group of 3rd rounders.

I definitely prefer Kittle in redraft and think he’s in for a huge year with Deebo out of the picture. Downside is he’s 4 seasons older than Hock. Would have liked to get a 2nd round pick added but they weren’t accepting it. I haven’t seen a lot of discussion on TJ so curious what folks think about his future.

100% great move for you. Kittle will likely be the #1 target in this offence with Deebo gone and Aiyuk coming off injury. I've owned Kittle the last 2 years and helped me win a chip. Hock had the ACL issue and wasn't quite 100% last year. New rookie QB and there could be struggles or inconsistency.

I’m a big believer in McCarthy but am expecting a lower volume offense.

Ok but that seems nuts to me, guy showed zero. If anything I'd probably value him even less in larger roster leagues because I'd rather draft a rookie to hold instead. I'm sure if my roster was 30 I'd still not value him more then a 5th.

ETA-I don't use trade calcs much but when I do I use the one on this site and just out of curiousity I ran Sinnot's assuming FFPC lineup and scoring. This does not let you adjust for league size. Sinnot's value was is 27% of a 2026 second, 72.5% of a 2026 third and 145% OVER a 4th. So pretty different trade calc value, again you can't adjust league size on this one. But my main point again is if a larger roster size allows me to hold onto projects/rookies longer I'd rather draft a different project or rookie with a 4th round range to hold onto then Sinnott.

I could have put an RFA tag on him and resign him if I wanted to pay the crazy salary he'll command. But felt like I had the depth to make him expendable. I improved my RB and TE rooms with the trade. But I would have had to leave one of Nabors, BTJ, or Puka on my bench if I retained Chase and his hefty salary. Not only that, finding trade partners is like pulling teeth, so I felt comfortable with the move. I've been trying to move him for the last couple of years but no one was ever remotely close to offering anything of similar value.
