in the right hands, the good assault rifles can be great. The noob tube is devastating on certain maps. Giving ammo can also give some nice points, but not as many as healing as a medic. In terms of actual combat, assault >>>>>Medic until you get the m-60.
And we need the ammo! That is the biggest draw back to removing the commander. We're a week in and I still haven't been resupplied. I'm going to level up my assault class next so we have the option when playing =FBG= matches.

So I'm still kinda trying to figure out a way to get alot of Med points...? I haven't been playing with any buddies so healing has been a bit tough (since guys keep running away from where I'm dropping med kits..). One round last night I got around 8,000 points, but they were all vehicle points from destroying the other team in an Apache.

Lol - this is exactly what I was trying to do last night - I hit on it 2 times; once with my entire squad in there and one time with another squad. Seeing a constant stream of +20 = happy  .

I swear the other team knows when I spot them in SDM. It almost never fails when I "spot" someone. If they're stationary they almost always jump up and run off.

Maybe I'm just :lmao:

Can only your squad memebers use a med kit? Or can any teamate use one if they are low on health.
both teammates and enemies i believe. you get extra points for squad members though. (plus squad heals/revives are a requirement for certain awards)

Really? I didn't think enemies benefited but that is pretty interesting. Can you revive enemies to? lolzAlso learned via in game chat last night (you probably all know this). At any time you can deploy a parachute by clicking X 3-times. So if in a helicopter and some noob is flying it, click O to exit and then X 3-times to deploy parachute.

Yep had to do this a few times. Nothing like jumping into a full on fire fight...LOL.

It does seem like that but what is actually going on is that most people know there are certain "noob hills" where multiple snipers like to gather and die by one counter sniper. If one of these locations is pointing in the general direction of the defending team, they don't usually stand still long enough except if they are going to pop a snipers head and move to a different spot. I don't know where you set up at but I find that playing the recon and being semi on the front lines works well. Just keep to the outside and look inwards, it helps with the tanks and most people don't expect to be sniped inside many of the crowded non open areas.

Actually, this is pretty much only in Squad Death Match. Haven't noticed it in the other game types.

From the few games of this mode I have played it seems like you would need a team playing together to have a chance.

To win consistently, yes. But I've been on the winning squad a few times where we just had 2-3 guys that were good operating alone.Arica Harbor is an awesome map for this mode.

Yea, i love that map. I'm not a big fan of this game, it's okay and i just play it casually to mess around and take a break from MW2. I only play squad deathmatch so i always try to play Arica Harbor. I finished the recon class and unlocked all the snipers. I think the best sniper is the Gol Magnum (i think that is what it is called). The M95 is the last one you unlock and despite having maximum damage, it still isn't a 1 shot kill.

What do you mean? I get one shot kills all the time with the default sniper. I've unlocked 3 I think but still only use that one.Mostly headshots though.

I'll be on tonight starting around 7 ET if any of you PC gamers can join me. I'll be on Ventrilo since the stupid friends list won't work.

Man, my friend list is working pretty darn well actually, though I don't think I have pork yet. Gonna have to resend.

my plan was to try to take a night off. Been playing way too much

I have some stuff i could stand to get done around the condo (need to clean out one of the filters on my fish tank, should probably vacuum) that i should get done. I'm also getting back in the gym this week. Plus, i have been having lots of crazy vivid dreams lately and i'm sure all the late night gaming is part of it.

The other day, i swear i bumped into the side of a desk and saw a red damage direction indicator.

That being said, i'll probably make it on.

I have an image of a flabby, drooling TLEF sitting at his desk with eyes glazed over, goldfish floating upside down in the tank behind him.

I'm half committed to a LOTRO raid tonight, but if there is enough people and they look for volunteers to sit, I'll load up BC2. It's funny, playing FPSs only seems to help your play in MMOs, whereas the reverse is definitely not true.

Can you update the first post with all of the correct user names for BFBC2?
Speaking of... here's my Battletracker page for BF2.Everythings_Eventual

Have not played a FPS in a long time but this one looks attractive enought to get me back in. After I get my sea legs and am not a 100% #####, I'd love to join in a few FBG PC games.

I really need a new keyboard/mouse for this PC. Totally rebuilt it about 2 years ago but still have a junky old stock Dell keyboard and generic logitech mouse. If you guys were going to buy any gaming keyboard/mouse combo right now what would you get?

Logitech G-15 Keyboard

Logitech G-9 Mouse

Both no brainers IMO. (assuming you dont mind spending the $$)

the only thing is the newer model of the G15 keyboard actually has fewer programable buttons but is more expensive. Go figure.

I have the Razor Deathadder mouse, but still use a Microsoft Internet Keyboard that I've had for over 10 years. They do the job. As long as the mouse has good software and a couple of extra buttons, it's probably good for gaming. Also, being easier on the hands (ergonomical) is probably a good thing too. I don't know whether wireless has gotten better for gaming, though, so unless others can vouch for it, I'd stay away.As TLEF said above, Logitech makes good peripherals.

I actually prefer the Logitech MX518 over the G mouse series, but that is me. :homer:

I have the G5 mouse. It is a thinner profile than the G9. You should be able to fondle both at a Best Buy or like minded store. Microsoft ergonomic for the keyboard.

Yea if you don't hit them in the head it isn't a one shot kill. You'd think the M95 with a max damage rating would be a one shot kill but it isn't.

I've used both the Mx518 and the G5. I like the G5 a little better, feels more substantial I think. Don't think you'll go wrong with any Logitech mouse though, feel them up and pick the one you like the best.

I still use fairly generic keyboards, been thinking about spending the money for a decent logitech one next time I need one but tough to justify as long as these keep working fine. I think my current one is a Kensington and the only reason I bought it was cause it had a scroll wheel and I couldn't find any others that still had them. I'm guessing next go-round I won't find any :lmao:

Interesting.I've been hesitant to switch from the original rifle due to the damage decreases, however almost all of my kills have been headshots, so apparently I won't be losing too much from the damage dropping, but I sure as hell would benefit from increased rate of fire.I just need the accuracy.

You'll love the Gol Magnum then, it has max accuracy with slightly more damage then the m24 sniper (the first one you get).

Does anyone know how to get magnum ammo? From what i've been reading it makes it a hell of a lot easier to snipe.

I've been using the m416 assault rifle and i love it. Using it with body armor and a red dot and it is awesome.

i really wish they had stats like Bf2 where you could see your k/d ratio within classes and even with certain weapons.

I'd imagine I'm probably like 2.5/1 with the m60.

Okay, I think I'm finally sold on this thing. I'd been debating whether or not to go ahead and sell it back (while Gamestop's still doing the 50% thing), but I'm in.

The game's now becoming pretty fun.

I've been playing as an engineer (and some medic mixed in). I've been using the repair kit to help keep the tanks up and running. What are the other big uses for the repair kit?

I haven't been able to destroy any enemy equipment yet.

Most of our own equipment is usually up in flames by the time it seems it could use a repair.

I guess it'd be great for the choppers, but it seems like most people don't think about landing them for a quick repair.

MUCH better at Med at this point... finally using the T88 with Red Dot... level 5 I think, always around 1200/round at least, so progress. Definitely think I'll love this once I get some buddies to play w/ on 360.

Whats you live tag? We have had up to seven people playing together, some from fbgs, some are friends of fbgs.

I'm on 360 unfortunately... everyone else on PC??BTW; how the hell is it that every SINGLE time I come across a sniper using a pistol i LOSE that firefight? Really do not understand how I can fire at least 20 rounds at close range w/ Red Dot and I somehow die, and they live with 5% life? Really getting old.

Anybody else having problems with forming a squad?

It doesn't seem to work for me. I can form a squad by inviting people when I'm in the game, but I'd like to be able to form a squad before the game starts.

Also, is there really no way to play with or even be able to talk to more than 3 other people?

The game is great, but that is very odd for a game that puts an emphasis on teamwork. I don't know why they wouldn't want the entire team to be able to communicate (or, heaven forbid, know each other).
