I figure it will go to my office here to replace my 22" here, but then I have to bump this 22" somewhere. Does my receptionist warrant an upgrade?

TS sucks anyway. Ventrilo is far clearer audio quality. I have a Vent server we could use, I just need to get permission.

I am good with Vent, either way. In-game VOIP just tends to suck. LOTRO was the first game I have run across where the VOIP wasn't that bad.

Squads are 4 man teams and you can spawn on any squad member. This leads to nice 4-man nade kills on occasion.
Organized teams will have a field day on public servers. It feels exactly like Bf2 in that the movement pace is really slow and having been playing MW2 with lightweight and marathon kits it feels like we're playing with cement boots.
Also, none of this running up to people who are unloading clips into you and getting melee kills. You will be dead. Also, TLEF I'm sure already mentioned this but melee attacks no longer require equipping the knife.
The ambient sounds are awesome but a little R-rated. You can turn them off though, but they're too good to have up. Maybe later when you want to hear footsteps, we will.

Vehicles feel pretty balanced. Noticeable drop in vehicle fired rounds. You really need to consider range to target when you fire.

Wow! Holy lag fest in Beta right now. Anyone one else getting that as well? Read on one forum that there is only 1 US server? Seems silly!
BTW, the FragHaus TS server is the newly released TS3, not the old school TS2. We actually dumped our Vent server for TS3. Up to you guys if you want to use it or not. I did ask the server admin to make a BF:BC2 channel.

I can't get the game to launch. It opens, goes to full black screen and then back to desktop.

Found it. If you can't launch the game, go into your account tab in Steam and select "Steam beta" where it reads "Opt out of Beta".

I just played no problem, except my video card apparently can't handle it. Artifacts everywhere. Shawn, I'm trying to friend you in Steam but somethings up.

If you're running the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 beta through Steam and have a DirectX 11 capable machine, you may be experiencing more crashes than usual with the game. As it stands, the current non-beta Steam client does not play nice with DirectX 11. There is a simple fix for this and it merely involves opting in to the current Steam client beta.

just put in a few hours......
- i wont judge the graphics, as i'm playing on a 2 year old machine (1680x 1050 on medium levels is performing smoothly, but isnt that pretty. I'll try to tune some settings to get a little more eye candy tomorrow). Obviously its not an apples-apples comparison, but it looked better on the Ps3.
- IMO, they bumped the amount of bullets for a kill up quite a bit from the Ps3 beta. I'd say roughly 30%. I dont like the change. You really cant mow down a group of 3 guys unless you have them absolutely dead to rights with a weapon with a big clip.
- dont judge the game on this map, the Ps3 map (Arica Harbor) was WAY better.
- i hope the amount of points needed to unlock certain guns are just place holders for now, because there's no way i'm scoring the 100 million points to unlock the scopes for the assualt rifles. Speaking of assault rifles, the default one sucks.

I'm not sure how different the PC beta is, but I downloaded the BC2 demo on my 360. It plays a lot like 1943 and I assume BC1 (haven't played that one). There was only one map, it was snowy and one round an entire team defends while the other has to blow up 2 command centers and then keep moving up 2 at a time. Defense gets infinite tickets while the attacking team is limited the number of tickets. If the attacking team can get to the end and destroy all points before losing all tickets, they win. If the defending team can hold the points and the attacking team runs out of tickets, they win.
This is the only map and play type on the 360. It's fun and I like it, but I definitely would like more maps, plus I'd like to edit my controls on the 360 controller to button configurations that aren't available. I know I'd be able to do this on PC.
