I read somewhere that if you have Veteran status from previously BF games you start with extra stuff so that might be it..?Badger, you use the left and right DPad buttons to use the gadgets. You need to get about 1500 points before you start unlocking the first one in each class.

Funny though i like the single shot scope sniper rifle much better than the multi shot I unlocked. Much more stopping power and better range for doing the kind of recon I do.So what are you guys doing as far as leveling up. I can see the replay value being immense by working on one class at a time. Or are you looking at the maps and deciding what class works best for you?Anyone who thinks MWII is better than this does not like true tactical play...the maps on this game are just gorgous.

i know lots of people "love being a sniper" but it really isnt all that helpful in this game. (the destructible cover and kill cam really limit their effectiveness from a camping perspective) It can be helpful in conquest to some extent , but its useless in Rush mode. Unless you can defend a flag (as opposed to just parking up on a mountain somewhere) you're usually more helpful playing a diferent class. tHe one thing that can change this is the mortar unlock. Its very good against vehicles. A good sniper can be very useful. But mediocre snipers just kill their teams. If you've got 3-4 bad snipers on a 16 person team, you're dead from the start. and yes, the semi auto rifle (at least the first one) is not great. Might be better for an assualt sniper type of role, but as far as long distance stuff, you're much better off with the bolt actions rifles.And yes, the MW2 supporters who dismiss this game arent really paying attention. Other than customization options (Bc2 is good here, but Mw2 is just awesome) there is no comparison.

Well....in Rush (that is the mode I have been cutting my teeth on and just snuck in a 45 minute lunch session he he) when your defending a very good sniper comes in handy picking off would be infantry rushing in....also i have been really effective using the corn tank killer gun. In attack mode yeah it can be limited...but what I am doing is using my scope to recon the area and telling my squad where to move as we approach our objective. I 10 points away from unlocking another scope rifle that sulry will be even better than the start up one. I am going to try out being an engineer tonight as well.This game Rocks big time.

You can rack up a lot of points as sniper just spotting enemies from afar, as well, then taking plinks as you can.

As a defensive player in rush spotting out attackers, it works.

As a "OMG I'M AN ELITE SNIPER" idiot camping up on wookie hill (the name the forums have given the big rock from the beta map) its a total disaster and dooms your team. It makes no sense to be a sniper when you're attacking on rush. there's no penalty for the defenders dying and they just respawn 10 seconds later with knowledge of where you're shooting from.

i've seen some good snipers on conquest, but they're mostly guys who move in behind an attack and flank the defenders. Some people still insist on going o the edge of the map and hiding in the brush while their teammates go for flags without them. Totally useless.

edit: i also wish that guys killed by headshots were NOT revivable. That would add some more usefullness to the good defensive sniper.

I've figured out the problem. Just no solution. It keeps dumping my mouse settings except for fire. I reset it and I'm good to go for a while!Hopping in.

Have you tried playing in HARDCORE?But yeah headshots shouldn't be reliable. I need to take into account gravity when sniping. I don't camp unless it's near a flag we own for defense but I don't get a ton of kilss, mainly marking and assists. I tend to move with my team but hang back and find a spot. What I lack for killing, aim and quick trigger I make up with SPECIAL TEAMS

its mostly a bragging rights thing, but i believe there are some awards for collecting a certain amount of tags (and those awards give you more points).For some reason, i think that the tags give you an extra 100 bonus points at the end of the round, but i'm not sure.

I wouldn't say Xbox isn't having any problems. I got kicked twice because of the EA server issue earlier in the night.

I know the original Ghost Recon was AWESOME. For Conquest and rush - hardcore may be bad. If team death match is one kill out, with no vehicles then hardcore would be awesome. * Never played deathmatch on BF so not sure how it works but I know old way you had to be very tactical and careful which made it intense, I was also playing with a bunch of friends so waiting for the round to be over was no biggie.

they havent had deathmatch in previous BF games. The squad death match in this game is new to the series.I played the original GR too. Great game, but i dont remember too much about the multiplayer(how many hits it took to kill someone)

good review, I think I am sold to at least try it out:

I consider myself a Battlefield Vet having played most of the installments in the series including the one I despised the most which was BC1... BC2 is amazing, no I am not a troll so do not worry. BC2 offers more than what the first one did and this time around it feels as if the tactics really work, teamwork plays more of a part than it every did before.I purchased mines on midnight release and find it hard to balance between MAG and BC2 so now I have to find days where I can actually enjoy these two games and hopefully it al works out for the best. BC2 has more weapons to select from and if I am correct you can unlock every single one without having to be forced onto a specific class. As usual, Frostbite engine allows us to destroy just about the whole map and with a good team you can get some amazing games going. Been playing it for the last two days and I enjoy it more than the first one. I hope to see MAG get some patches soon cause it would suck not to have them and I know that games like BC will eventually draw away players from MAG unless they give them a good reason to stick around. BC2 also has more strategy and I know this sounds dumb but it does as the stage changes throughout the battle. Snipers can't camp areas for too long, especially buildings cause their building can be blown up; another thing is that this game has plenty of vehicles, vehicles play more of a major role than in any other game of it's class and way more than the roles vehicles currently have on MAG. It feels like everyone on the battlefield really matters, everyone plays a role that helps the whole squad out and/or the whole team for that matter. If you've never played a Battlefield game then I would recommend renting BC2 and I am sure that if you enjoy MAG you will love BC2. The only differences between MAG and BC2 is the weapon selection, the amount of players in a match(no 256 player matches there of course lol), BC2 has better vehicles and vehicles play a major role in the game as well as the class you choose. You can't customize what your character wears in BC nor BC2 but the weapons are great, the battles as small as they may be they are intense. MAG reminds me of the classic BF2 which is why I enjoy the game, BC2 is just like a step up, EA Dice stepped it up this time around and if you don't believe me please check out the game, give it a shot, it deserves it. This is coming from a former BC2 Skeptic.

I enjoyed it. Nothing too eye-opening, but fun delivery. I didn't now that when you switched kits, you kept your appearance (makes sense though.) Nice bit of trickery there for those that might fight different based on the class they are approaching (ahem, TLEF.)

I realize vehicular combat is pretty big and differentiates it from MAG & COD, just trying to understand the strategy aspect.
