I am just :lmao: that I have to wait till 15 to get magnum.

If it says 13 EA, give it to me at 13, don't tease me and make me die a billion times to God gun between now and 15.

I :lmao: God gun. I have taken out teams of 6-8 guys by flanking them shooting it semi auto and then running into a house to blow the demo charge and holding it down full auto to clear the inside.
I enjoy just chucking a grenade in through a window from 50 yards away.
Also, nothing like shooting an RPG through a random window across the map (easily a couple hundred yards) and getting a +50

RPG's are becoming the new sniper rifle, that is for sure. One of my fave moments thus far was repairing a badly damaged Bradley on Alta and my guy jumped out and an enemy jumped in. I did not notice and keep "repairing" and then get a +100 vehicle destroy and +50 enemy kill note right then. :moneybag:

i've got almost all the pins at this point. the only ones i need are the 3 road kills in a round, destroy 4 MCOM stations in a round (this one will be insanely tough), defend 4 flags in a round (easy if i just do it instead of always trying to take new flags) and 3 boat kills (also very tough).

I like to get a enemy tank near death when I know my tank is going to die because I'm solo inside it without another repair man. Then jump out right as it dies and pull out my rpg, crouch next to the smoking rubble and blast the enemy tank with the rpg for the kill. For some reason they never expect the opponent to be alive when they only get the kill enemy vehicle bonus, not the +50 from an enemy.

Be aware that magnum ammo increases damage by 25% on LMGs, ARs, and SMGs. While it decreases bullet drop on sniper rifles and shotguns without a damage upgrade.

Its getting to the point where you see entire squads of guys level 20+ with M60s and 4 or 5 gold stars. Thats not a coincidence.
<-------------------- Level 22, M60 platinum star
i was on that road too, but decided to use other guns. I dont want to be caught with my pants down when they nerf it. I've only got 5 gold stars right now, but i'll go back and get the other 5 soon for the 2 platinum stars award. I'm pretty sure my other platinum star will be the M-416.

and once you get past level 24, the amount of points to advance goes WAY up. I think i need like 85,000 points to go from 25-26

Yeah, I seriously need to branch out. I've played enough engineer to unlock the repair tool and the AT mine, but that's it. I've played assualt once or twice in specific situations where I knew I would be respawning at a location where the 40mm grenade launcher would come in handy, but I haven't even unlocked the ammo box yet. And I haven't touched recon. It's just that I'm not bored with the medic class yet. Eventually I'll spend a lot more time with the engineer kit.

What SMG do you guys use while playing engineer. I have become good at using the iron sights on the AKS-74U but haven't tried anything above it.

I am almost level 20 and have everything unlocked but the AR tree, going to work on that next.

Got the final medic unlock after a quick round. Now I guess I will kick back into engineer. Probably go assault after that given the proliferation of the #######g Pro Pipe™. :goodposting:

I absolutely loved Medic up until I unlocked the M60, then hopped over to Recon - LOVE that class now that I've been able to figure out how to snipe/spot & use mortars. I still haven't 'figured out' the M60 yet (using red dot or 4x) but with how you guys have been dominating with it I can't wait to jump back over once I max out Recon.

Recon is my favorite by far, spotting a ton of players on the front lines helps the team immensely, the key is finding a good location to snipe from that is not too obvious. With the 12x scope you can be REALLY far back making it very difficult for the enemy to find you, the difficulty is finding a high elevation spot that is not the first obvious option, also making your ammo count since you are by yourself you will run out of ammo a lot.

I am wondering if I might just figure out the most general good unlock level per class and get to that, then go back and unlock the whole tree.

For example, with medic, get to the M60, then go elsewhere.

Engineer it would seem the AKS-74U might be it at 16k.

Not sure with recon - the Gol whatever seems to be used a ton and is fairly early on.

Assault? Seems maybe the Aug but have no idea. Thoughts?

Doesn't even necessarily need to be an elevated position. The 12X makes it very easy from most places. Also, near trees or bushes works well for awhile before they finally find you.The auto-spot scope is money.

the AUG is very good, but i like the 416 better. M16 might be as good/slightly better than the AUG, but i havent used it enough yet.M60- yesengy really is personal preferance. The AKS is the most versatile, but the PP200 is very good in close. You can put 30 bullets in a guy's chest before he even sees you. And of course, you could always use the G3 if your looking for more stopping power and range (but no RDS)i'm moving my way up the recon train, but i havent been sniping. i used the G3 for a while and then did some of my recon time while getting the bronze stars for 2 of the shotguns. i'll start on it eventually though. i was a pretty darn good sniper in Bf2 and was sucessful in the 2 or 3 rounds i've used it so far in Bc2.

Recon has it easy, everything is pretty much unlocked right away. The starter Sniper is absolutely fine for the entire game if you should choose, once you get the mortar, the 12x scope and the Auto-Scope you are golden.I preder the Gol myself simply for the added accuracy, but there is a very minimal difference.

Haven't tried the GOL yet but unlocked it last night. I'm in love with whatever the silenced semi-auto sniper is. That thing is awesome. It takes three shots a lot of the time but you can fire it fast enough that it doesn't really matter much.

 My thoughts exactly for Recon. The GOL is nice, but if you use the M24 w/ 12x & Auto-Spot scope you are just fine. Anyone used the silenced sniper rifle at all? I unlocked it last night and haven't really had an opportunity to use it. Power looks to be pretty far down, but if it is still a headshot = kill that gun will be a beast...

We were getting counter-sniped by a dude with the PP2000 last night. It was driving us crazy.

With assault I understand the M416 is probably better, just curious where would be a good point to stop and unlock a set point at the others. Finding the best non-noob weapon to be able to jump in with, I guess.

yeah, you can fire little controlled bursts at snipers. There's no recoil. its not like the M60, but you can counter snipe if the guy is dumb and lets you fire 4 bursts at him.

See above. One shot headshot kills are still possible I think - don't recall as I just started using it last night - but it's got to be a perfect shot and up fairly close.Still love it though.

It wasn't taking 4 bursts to kill us. I only noticed one. But he wasn't across the map. Maybe 80-100 yards off.

yeah, i'm talking from across the map.I guess i well placed 4 shots to the head will drop a sniper, but you cant do that at true sniper range. Mid range i could see it. but there are better engy options at mid range.

So I get this in 5-7 business days. got any tips?
Yep - be PATIENT when you first start out; I was not a very big fan when I first started playing as I had no clue what was going on. As I learned the strengths/weaknesses of each class the game became MUCH more enjoyable (aka - if playing as Recon, don't waste your time trying to defend/take a contested cap point, that's an Engineer/Assault/possibly Medic Job). Try each class and find one which suits your playing style best. This isn't like MW2 and it much more tactical, and dare I say "realistic" (for a video game).

Give it a little time, great game.

The auto-spot scope is money.
Its weird, I have had games where it will light anyone up that I put the sight on and then others(the majority) where it won't tag a single person with an auto spot.

The T88, SVU, and VSS snipers are all two shot headshot kills. Only the bolt actions are one shot kills.

I've noticed the same thing. Maybe not quite that bad though. It does seem to miss guys at times but so does the manual spotting so it's probably related to that issue.

Yeah, that makes sense. I wasn't sure since I'd had one shot kills that were likely due to them already taking damage from someone else.

Absolutly money. Nothing like my M-24 with the 12X scope and Auto Spot. I am a lethal killer....and I head shot with the best of them.

Can't say enough about how much fun this game is. And mixing up your classes is highly reccomended.

Sweet, thanks for the clarification!

Sorry, another Recon post:

For those who have unlocked the M95; is there really any 'bonus' to using it? I mean stat wise, it looks the same as the M24 albeit a bit more powerful/accurate and with a longer reload...? Is it a 1 shot body kill? Penetrate through walls?

In BF2, the M95 was the only sniper rifle that would penetrate cockpits, so using it on certain maps on the enemy airfield was :goodposting: :pickle: Fun for all as their pilots jump in to fire it up, dead. Rinse, repeat. :bag:

The accuracy is nice, the reload time to me is a moot point, as I will only use bolt action rifles.

I guess my point kinda was; should I be excited about using it over the GOL? I've been destroying fools with that thing, and have been excited about unlocking the M95... but I can't imagine it being "that much" better (other than just being cool looking).

What was the "shoulder cannon" from Far Cry 2? Was it the M95 as well? I just remember FBG matches in the short-lived experiment we had with FC2 where it was a rush to unlock the "hit the guy in the arm and 1-shot him" shoulder cannon.

i dont remember, but it might have been. That game was way overhyped. Mediocre graphics and game play (the only "new" thing that was kinda fun was the sliding into cover) and no innovation.

Agreed, but we were so excited for the possibility of a "new Battlefield' experience that we jumped in. I never played a moment of the SP.

It works well against people who hide behind a wall or building. Basically you have them spotted and they run behind a fence or tree and you can shoot through it into them. I almost have it unlocked and have only used it from swapping kits, but I have heard it can damage aircraft.

I think this is a game where 4GB of RAM makes a pretty big difference from 2GB. Throwing in another 2GB of RAM in my office computer now to see what happens. Home has 4 GB and runs smooth like buttah.

I have 6GB of RAM. I don't have a problem, unless the server or my connection goes wacky.
