Any FBG's interested in my "old" BFG GTX 260 (192 core) 896 MB DDR3 video card? I replaced it with a killer deal I got on an ATI 4890, and am considering the options, between giving it to my 10 yr old son for his computer and offloading his 8800 GT, or selling it on eBay. Thought I would see if there was any interest here. I am back to all ATI cards in my gaming rigs now - 5850 at home and 4890 at work.

Doh, you are correct. The 8000 series was the first NVidia to support it. The 7000 did not.

patch is out. Full details up on total bf2, but here are some the alleged highlights in terms of weapons balance.....

- M60 damage dropped by roughly 20%

- Carl gustav and 40MM grenade launcher lose some splash damage in terms of the lethal killing range. (you'll survive shots that land closer to you than pre-patch)

- slowed down the firing rate of the 45. caliber pistol and raised the damage of the other pistols

- greatly sped up the projectile speed of the tracer dart. Apparently its very easy to hit choppers now and they're dropping like flies. The pilots are gonna be pissed.

- other LMG's got some accuracy changes (mostly more spread when hip fired but quicker spread recovery when zoomed in/using iron sights)

- all assault rifles got some increased range, but the M16 and G3 took a base damage reduction. The "bad" assault rifles (AEK, F200, An94 and AUG) got damage increases to bring them closer to the "good assault rifles". So basically, the M416 should be even more $$$ (as it got a range boost, but no damage nerf). The AUG and AN94 become very viable all of a sudden.

- and since i'm using the 40MM shot gun at the moment, they also lowered the range on it. Not great, because its already at a disadvantage due to poor hit reg and a slow reload. Glad i only have a few more kills to get with it.

I saw the full list too, and I took away three main things:1. Less noobtoobing.

2. LMGs as a class took a hit. The M60 obviously got brought back down to earth a bit, but the XM8 and PKM got nerfed two, and those were probably the second and third best weapons in the class. I don't play medic all that often anymore, but if I did I would be a little POed.

3. Good thing I'm only 3 gold stars away from plat with the M16. Then it's going to be all abou the M416.

Edit: Did the M60 really only take a 20% damage reduction? If so, it's still at least a little overpowered and it's still hands-down the best LMG since the others took damage reductions as well.

the forum post at Total bf2 said that close range damage went from 25-20. Long range damage from 20-16. Not sure if this is with/without magnum bullets.

I dont really study weapon damage charts or anything though

Good news on the tracer dart - levels the playing field a little more IMO. I've been mostly using the M416 recently with Assault so I'm happy that didn't change. Also, now that I've unlocked all weapons exc. recon, I don't care too much about my personal weapon stats or pins.

First game, game locked up my system for the second night in a row. Had to cut power.

Every time I joined the battle, my ping would shoot to 999 for 5 seconds, very difficult to play like that. Not sure what is going on.

Ok I do notice with the M16 with magnum it is taking another round from long distance to take guys out...but i still LOVE this gun better than the M416. I prefer the 3 round burst to the 2 round burst.

The M-60 is still a sick gun....not much has changed about that. Guy are still sniping with the Carl Gustav (cheese) and 40MM grenades are still cool to take guys out running across the battlefield.

I finally have been working on my Medic and am 400 points away from the paddles.....I am digging this class as well and can see how mad points are scored. Still think Assault is thr class to be though.

I will be on early evening and late evening tonight between the NFL draft.

Hope to play with you Kilgore and Ajax. Let's go wabit hunting tonight! LOL.

And I am now find myself playing a ton more conquest than Rush. And I do notice a great squad in Conquest can utterly dominate the battlefield. You find a ton more soloing in that mode.

I did the same. They just dont work.I thought squad DM had some potential, but it just turns into 16 guys running around looking for kills.

hmm

played about an hour and a half this morning (first time since the patch). Some thoughts....

- LOVE the new server browser. its awesome. Well worth the crap we dealt with for the first 2 weeks the game was out.

- I didn't get killed by a Carl Gustav or 40 MM grenade 1 time. Played on 2 different servers. Maybe its just a coincidence, but i doubt it. Guess they really did neuter them.

- Unfortunately, they also neutered the 40mm shot gun. You basically have to be right in the guy's face to kill him. Add in the fact that the hit detection sucks when you're moving, and you're better off just using the knife. Good thing i only need 6 more kills with it.

- The M416 is noticeably better at med-long range. I'm not talking about times when i'm just shooting at a red arrow (that's still mostly a crap shoot). But if i can see the guy's body clearly, i can take them out in 4-5 shots 90% of the time.

- the An94 appears to be a beast now. Maybe its the fact that its so loud, but it just seems like when someone fires it at you, the bullets just keep coming forever. I'll definitely be giving it a shot once i get my M416 platinum star.

- a little bit more lag today than normal. Maybe it was just bad luck, but the game play didn't seem as smooth. Gonna check for driver upgrades.
