First time I played in over a week. Disco (jonessed), Joe, TLEF and I were on a team that just ripped it up. Good times. Should be getting the new parts in Wed this week, so hopefully I'll notice an uptick in game performance.

running out of awards to go for. Got my awards for 100 mine kills and 200 knife kills this weekend. All i have left is 500 vehicle destructions (i have like 460), all bronze stars and all bronze weapons stars (impossible to get right now because of the M1) and 100 MCOM destructions (only have 37)
Some guy just called me a "chicken" because i tried to knife him on Nelson bay (i was 4 knife kills away from 200 and i didn't think he saw me). He decided to berate me for being a "knife noob" for the next 5 minutes.
I proceed to go like 36 and 12 for that round

i got 5 guys with one cluster of mines yesterday (fully loaded APC). It was so awesome.
2 kills= "double kill"
3 kills= "triple kill"
4 kills= nothing (no bonus points)
5 kills= "multiple kill"
I just kinda figured that you didn't get anything extra for killing more than 3 guys. So last night was a pleasant surprise.

Just new modes on maps.
It does make me wonder why we FBG's have not tried any squad rush/squad deathmatch maps though. Next time, I say we go try to dominate some fools on one of those.

I've played some squad deathmatch, it's pretty fun. Haven't tried the squad rush mode much though.

Just played a round as defender on Arica, roughly 10-10 teams. I got way up in their base, as did most of my team. Went 13-0 K/D rocking the AN-94. I cannot tell you how many times I had 1-2 tanks within a stone's throw of me. I would spot them and the rest of the team would blow them. At no time did they even try to take me out, even as I was counter-sniping their snipers in their own spawn with the 4X scope.
They were QQ'ing pretty hardcore.

Apparently they're offering console players the opportunity to literally buy all the unlocks for like $20. That's pretty sad. Pretty sure I had everything unlocked within like 2 weeks.
Hopefully we'll get the patch by like tuesday.
Also, these map packs are a joke at this point. If you watched the trailer, it clearly shows someone using the m14 with a scope. The devs reaffirmed that they aren't adding it, which means that they made that video of the "new map" months ago before the decision to remove the scope from the m14

There is no good reason to not allow a G3 or M14 with the scopes. Heck, the M14 easily allows rails and mods in real life. Why do they want to keep it so craptastic? So much better to keep it a POS. I feel like making an M14 my next purchase and mounting it with a scope, handgrip AND a 30 round clip. Also this month, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Kit Shortcuts will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for those players who don't have time to spend levelling up to unlock all the kit specific items but still want to be competitive with those who have unlocked everything. The Kit Shortcuts will give you the unlocks available for kit each kit while still allowing you to progress through the ranking system as normal and will be available for 560 MS Points/$6.99 individually or if you want the whole bundle of kit shortcuts including the 7 available vehicle unlocks, 1600 MS Points on Xbox Live and $19.99/17.99€. The Kit Shortcuts will be available on Xbox Live Worldwide and European PlayStation Network from 16th June with the North American PlayStation Network having access to the shortcuts from 22nd June.
edit: Hopefully they don't bring this crap to the PC version. Official suggestion.....if someone buys a kit short cut, their name should show up Pink in the HUB.

Yeah, if you can't unlock this stuff on your own, you're not going to be competitive in this game no matter what you're packing.

yeah, the "want to be competitive" thing just kills me. The 2nd guns for assault, Engy and medic are all more than "competitive".
If you aren't good enough/don't have enough time to unlock the super guns (which can be accomplished by simply playing only 1 class for a couple of days at the most) the extra little bump that they give aren't going to make a bit of difference.

It sounds like this is something in between a map pack and a brand new game. Is that more or less accurate?Vietnam

However, there will need to be lots of customization just like Bc2. We'll see.

BF2 had a full expansion pack called special forces. You needed the original to play it, but it came with all new maps, vehicles, armies and gadgets. There were like 10 maps i think.My guess is that BC2: Vietnam will be similar. It will run on the same engine (maybe slightly optimized) but it will just have different maps, weapons, armies (obviously) and gadgets. I'm not a huge fan of the Vietnam genre, but i like the Frostbite engine and I'm craving new maps. So I'd probably buy this if the previews are positive.

You veterans might remember Battlefield: Vietnam, which was between 1942 and BF2. It was basically the same engine as 1942, more like a full conversion money grab by DICE. Looks like they are following the same pattern.
I would be more interested in a WW2 conversion than a Vietnam conversion, frankly.

i bought BF vietnam (was supposed to be my first BF game, as i had a laptop when 1942 came out). i played it briefly, but couldn't get it into it. I was more into RTS games at the time and hadn't spent a lot of time playing "realistic" FPS games (was more into games like TFC)Bf2 was really my first battlefield experience.while a full WW2 game would look great on frostbite (bombed out european cities would be awesome with the destruction engine) i just think the WW2 genre is played out at this point.

I loved BF:V. I think it was vastly underrated. I always got pumped when I'd hear music blaring from the vehicles and base radios. Stars & Bars Radio FTW! I hope it returns.

No, Medal of Honor is a totally different game made by EA LA & DICE. It will feature a lengthy single player campaign along with 24 player multiplayer. I believe it's Bad Company 2: Vietnam that you're thinking of with 4 new maps, characters, weapons, etc.DICE doesn't usually work on the Medal of Honor series, but they were brought in to help make an awesome multiplayer game. EA LA is known for their work in all the previous Medal of Honor games and the Command & Conquer series.The new Medal of Honor shouldn't be confused with the Battlefield series, even with DICE on board. You may see some Battlefield inspired gameplay, but that's the whole point of bringing DICE in.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is one of the all time great games. I got a beta key, I see it stopped working around 5:30 AM (people saying they were having the same problem as you Slax).I'm going in for BC2 now.

if you haven't unlocked the M16 yet and are looking forward to it, you shouldn't be. Worst gun in the game.
The difference between the M16 and the An-94 is honestly probably 8 kills a game for me.
