So has the 360 version been updated changed since launch? I have almost relapsed and I really want to play some Battlefield but just didn't enjoy BF4. :scared:
Yeah, there have been a couple of download patches. I think they've made some changes on the server side as well along the way. Haven't had any freezes lately, but Dawnbreaker froze the last time I tried it (a week or two ago), so I don't even try to play it any more.

Still seeing some kill trades and getting killed by people with 0 health remaining (guess that may be the same issue as the kill trade issue)

Overall, it's better. Still far from "fixed" but enjoyable.

I have 6 weapons sitting 1 kill from their next service star, just waiting for the next double XP weekend. :bag: Never had enough time last time. Hope to have at least 10 ready to go, maybe even a vehicle or 2 and some classes.

So, do other FBG's feel similarly about the ACE 23 CQB? I know I love the ACE 52 CQB as the carbine.
Wow - I can't wait to try it out. I have to see if it's unlocked for me.
I've been mainly using the SCAR-H for assault. I'm going to try out the ACE 23 and see how it compares. SCAR-H has been my top weapon to date.
SCAR-H is awesome, but I do like the ACE 52 CQB more. It is a monster.

So, I now have 4 weapons within 1 kill for the next service star. Now to see if I can get a few more. I figure I can get the SCAR and U-100 there easily enough, maybe the 23 CQB.
Man, you were right. I'm loving the ACE 52 CQB! If I can ever get the damn Kobra RDS (my preferred optic for most situations), it's going to be bad news for the enemies. Doing pretty well with it with the Coyote RDS though. Thanks for the recommendation.

Also trying out the FAMAS on Assault class and loving it too. That 1000 rate of fire is

Give that ACE 23 a go, too. The ACE 21 is no slouch with its 36 round mag, either.

WOOT!

Hi everyone! We're happy to announce that Second Assault will be available for BF4 Premium members on February 18, and two weeks later for everyone. In addition to this, we're sharing a few more details on the upcoming expansion pack, Naval Strike. Interesting to see how they work the naval aspect.

Oh, and the obligatory, Yes, DICE, Metro was certainly a fan "favorite" X 2 billion.

Yeah, I've tried both. Preferred the 23 over the 21. I've found that with my run-n-gun and PTFO style, I do better with either a very high rate of fire or a more-damage weapon.

Its been fixed a little. Still some kill trades and a few where you die and the other guy shows 0 health. But its much better. Dawnbreaker is still virtually unplayable for me. I havent gotten through a match on that map in some time. I usually skip it.

Looking forward to the map packs. Not a huge fan of Metro. But if they rework it to allow more flanking to make the map less linear it would help.

Not for Second Assault, but Titan mode (from 2142) is confirmed to be coming back in Naval Strike. Woot!

:excited: Good times playing titan. How many people still playing were part of that crowd? Me, Mael, TLEF and maybe AmishBoy who is occasionally on. The rest are by the wayside. This is pre-SlaX time here.We need an Order of the Pilum emblem.

Order of the Pilum!

Up to level 93 after the weekend. Picked up my first MVP medal, was kind of proud of that one. Also, just 40 more MBT kills until I get the Phantom Prospect dog tag. And finally got the kill a defib kill. Got it as the final kill in a round of Operation Locker, to complete the assignment unlock for the L85A2

Had several rounds over the weekend where I had 20+ kills and single-digit deaths.

It was a successful weekend on the battlefield for me.

I've not played much Recon class. Any tips on starting off with it? I've still only got the first sniper rifle.
How have I never seen this thread????

NRJ - I stuck with the first one to unlock the attachments. Fooled around with a couple others. SSR>>> L96 or any other sniper. Rogue Transmission and SSR is :moneybag:

Got lucky with my defib kill. I ran out of ammo and had to reload and ducked behind cover, playing peekaboo with the enemy. I charged the defib and when he came around the corner I hit him with it. He typed out a message that it was BS, so I was pretty proud of that. Plus it was nice getting it on the first try.

where do you post up? up on one of the towers?
Yes...do tell (I hate snipers). ;)

Snipers are teh suck, but having unlocked the DMR's/RFB and played around with it a little, it seems ridiculous. Even with iron sights, I was running around owning fools. Give me a reflex dot and 2X and it will be easy mode.

The SRR is very good.Very little bullet drop.

DMR's are very good since the patch.

DMRs with a 2x magnifier and your preferred red dot scope are pretty awesome right now. (I prefer the T scope, personally).

I play recon fairly aggressively, most of the time my sniper rifle also has the angle iron sights for closer engagements (up close, sniper rifles are 1 shot kill). I really don't like to "post up" in some remote spot and try to pick up people as they come into view. To each their own, but if you are going to post up, grab a laser and light up some planes and vehicles. Spot like crazy and learn to take it easy with the scope (avoid the scope glint being visible).

I've actually been going with the 3.4 x scope. Running it a lot with the engineer kit on maps like rogue transmission.

You can always go super aggressive recon with a silenced carbine, motion balls and c4. At that point, you're basically the spec ops class from Bf2 with a little Bc2 mixed in. The only bad thing is you pretty much have to lone-wolf it, as using a silencers is pointless if you're playing with randoms who just fire at everything they see.

So who will we be losing to TitanFall shortly? I am leaning against being a day 1 player, but can be swayed.

I still find the map selection interesting with Second Assault. I mean, for 3 of them, they really probably didn't have to change a thing, since they were already Frostbyte engine. It is just lazy, IMO. Give us maps from BF2, from BFBC2, etc.

Yeah, it was unbelievably lazy. This strategy made total sense with the Back to Karkand pack for Bf3. The bf2 maps were 7 years old at that point and on a totally different engine. Plus, they actually picked really good maps (despite my legendary, game quitting hatred of Bf2 wake island, its a good map on Bf3) and made major improvements to how they played. Spending a couple of weeks (at most) adding some extra effects to bf3 maps we've been playing for the past 2 years and trying to pass it off as content worth buying was a disgrace.

The fact that Metro was the most played bf3 map is sad on so many levels. I'm as much of a stat whore as just about anyone, but there's really no reason to spend all you time on that map racking up silly amounts of points.

I disagree that it was lazy. From the footage I've seen, it looks like there were pretty significant improvements. Particularly when you figure that we were probably supposed to get these last December and another DLC by now, if it wasn't for the problems in the game engine.

As far as Titanfall, I watch some footage and I was not impressed. Maybe it plays better than it looked (beta guys, chime in here?) But 6x6 (+grunts, I guess) just doesn't seem fun, maybe the mech innovation makes a difference.

I'm also a bit biased having almost no experience playing COD as the few times I've loaded it up I've just not had as much fun as when I play BF. (I know it is different than COD, but it is by the same people, right?) I'll wait to see what others have to say, definitely not in on this one at launch.

Meh. If it wasn't easier and less time consuming , they would just make new maps. They basically threw a sand storm on oman, some fires on firestorm, a couple of new hallways on metro, a wall and tower on Caspian and and couple of destructible pieces and called it a day. Drives me nuts.

Titan fall is buckets of fun on the Xbox and I HATE call of duty. The bots are mostly useless but they (along with the titans) make the maps feel alive. The combat is fun (albeit shallow) and the free runnin/jet jumping is a blast.

Yah, I guess I was looking at it like this was just supposed to be a little update all along, if released when it should have been the base maps + China Rising would still be relatively fresh. Instead, it's almost 3 months later, and among all kinds of other problems, so it's bound to feel really minimal. That's all I was saying, not necessarily defending it at this point.

I'll keep my ear out, if it sounds like Titanfall is a game that'll last a little and continues to be fun, I might pick it up once it goes on sale.

It definitely plays better than it looks. When I watched a friend play in the alpha, I wasn't impressed. When I played the beta myself, it sold me. Whether I'll buy it at launch, I don't know. But I will buy it.

Shortcuts out now. They give you the option if you want them or not, if you would like to be virtuous and not take the shortcut.

That said, which DMR is the bee's knees? ;) I want it to be the EBR/EMR since I was so close to getting one myself, but the RFB seems fun.

Of course, there is an ACE DMR as well, so I have to assume that that one pretty much rules them all, seeing as how the ACE 52 owns the carbines and the ACE 23 the AR's.

I've been using the SVD-12, just don't try to hip-fire it (which you shouldn't do anyways).

Maybe its just me going into it without an open mind, but Second assault is beyond useless. Same maps I was playing on a daily basis 4 months ago just with a new paint job. And on top of that, the frame rate on them is horrible.

I may be taking a break until the next DLC comes out. Total joke.

I'm sad I don't enjoy the series any more. Between the worst game rollout I've seen to an abundance of hacks, it sucked the joy out of it. Perhaps I'll jump back in at some point. Titan is intriguing.

That is one of the reasons I stick to a few servers (like PURE) that have active and aggressive admins, even if I do a bit worse on those servers compared to a random pub server. I don't know that I really find that many people that I believe are hacking, but often enough there is the guy that spins around even though there is really no way he could have known you were behind him. I rarely see what I think are aimbot style hacks, but radar hacks are a bit more common.

I'm excited about Titan, but after playing a bit of the new DLC, I may also take a bit of a break until the next DLC. We'll see, I like jumping in and blowing off a bit of steam.
