Wow, amazing. Haven't had a PB kick in forever, first try to log into a Caspian map, bam. Don't even get to spawn. You know what? F you, DICE and EA. It's like they really could not care less about it. Things were not bad for a while, and here we go again.

Well I played I think 3 matches last night with no crashes. Rubber banding was present on one map, as well as bullet-lag or whatever you call it. But at least the games held up.

I tried to join in, but computer locked up and reboot and then wouldn't start up. Seems fine this morning after it went through an "automatic fix" on bootup, not sure why it didn't go through that last night (when I hit the sack I thought I was going to have to re-install Windows) That's what I get for replacing all my case fans and redoing my wiring a bit, I guess, I don't know. I did move my SSD and the power fell off, but didn't think it was while it was on.

after installing the Second Assault maps, about 75% of the time I turn the game on, I'm getting a "can't read player data" error message, then it loads, but all my damn vehicle settings are reset. I still have all the unlocks, just have to go reequip everything again. Infantry setups remain intact. But it's quite annoying have to set up vehicles every time you turn the damn game on.

I downloaded the Second Assault maps last night. Pretty lame. The sand storm on Oman is idiotic. Metro is almost exactly the same except for a little water in the Subway tunnels. Its still a long corridor with the same choke points. God help you if your team gets the C spawn and the opponents lock down the escalators and stairs up to the B flag. Firestorm is exactly the same as it was in BF3 with only the movement of the A flag out doors. Caspian is probably the best. I like the wall. But it seems like the tanks spawn much more quickly. All in all a major letdown for me. But warts and all its better than COD.

I really love this game and what it has the potential to become but this is a case study of why developers and publishers shouldnt push games out the door until they are finished.

On a side note. I think the range finder attachment on the sniper rifles is the greatest thing ever.

Yeah the CS-LR4 is the only sniper rifle I have the range finder unlocked on. I dont use most of the others because of all the cool toys I have for the CS-LR4. 40x and 20x scopes, straight pull bolt, rangefinder and a few other gadgets.

Once I get the SRR-61, I'm going to abandon the CS-LR4 and level up the SRR-61. It appears to be the god gun of sniper rifles.

Did anyone download the new patch? Lots of info on the new Carrier Assault game mode. Looks like alot of fun.

I've seen the changes to Metro on video and I don't think I'll hate it, but Metro isn't a map that I like to play an awful lot. I can't imagine Oman being any different. It's my least favorite of the Back to Karkand maps and I'll likely still hate it.

Played a round of Oman and ruled with a suppressed ACE 52. Between the storm and no gunfire, I blazed through the other team, dying only as I ran out of ammo.

Yep, I've averaged 1.5 crashes per day since installing it. Whereas before, I hadn't had a crash in a while. And that's avoiding Dawnbreaker completely. The crashes were on other maps. Other than that, I didn't notice a lot of difference, but they have the "fixes" listed out on the Battlelog forum. I have also noticed the kill screens are messed up sometimes now. Get killed by someone and it shows someone on the other side of the map.

Yup, either that or China Rising.. should be able to tell by what maps you have now. The Premium package gets you access to all five expansion packs (China Rising and Second Assault which are already out; then Naval Strike, Dragon's Teeth and Final Stand)

The game is running much better now. I downloaded update 8 for my Xbox360 version. After downloading it I was having trouble with freezing and really screwed up colors. I deleted all of the updates except for the HD update and the Title update. Reinstalled update 8 and all is good again. I havent played Dawnbreaker yet but no freezes on any other maps.

Sniping is still problematic. I have seen what appear to be shots hit my target dead on and no hit registers. Doesnt happen often, but I am a lousy sniper so when it does happen its doubly frustrating.

This suggestion came straight from the Battlefield Forums. I was having problems with freezing between matches and then the crazy colors on the Second Assault maps. Deleted all of the previous updates and reinstalled just the current update and all is right in the world.

Although with this patch the kill cam is all screwed up. It doesnt sometimes shows the wrong person having killed me and the wrong weapon.

There was a patch (like 600MB or less), then once I installed that and rebooted BF4 and tried to join a Naval Strike server, it prompted me to download the real update (1.6GB). Played one round of conquest through all the new maps. Pretty solid, I thought. And no freezes! WOOT. (I did delete the previous update file before installing the new one)

I played Carrier Assault and really enjoyed it. It's like a mashup of Conquest & Rush. You can stay outside and cap the missile sites ala conquest. Or when the enemy carrier is breached you can run in and arm the MCOMs like a rush game. The maps seem just the right size, but you really need the vehicles to get from capture point to capture point. The hovercraft is kind of cool but its nearly as difficult to drive as the waverunners/jetski's.

what is your gamertag? Zerp/MTKA Ender and I get a few rounds in a couple of times a week. Are you BayouMavrik?

Yeah, Clawyer, Ryodan, Badger and Alien Cape dont really play BF anymore. Havent seen Clawyer on in a while. Last I gamed with him was on Ghosts :X

So most evenings its Ender and I. On the odd evening a few non-FBGs that we know will hop on. Good guys and solid teammates. Our group has split up a bit now that some guys have switched over to XBone.

Lost Islands- Looks gorgeous and there are a couple of interesting areas, but there is a LOT of space between islands. Easy to get totally caught out of the action if you don't have a boat

Nansha strike- again, really good looking map. The middle 3 points are a lot of fun and the outside points are fun to fight over. The outside points are actually pretty interesting. One of them has a pretty 3 level fortress and some cool bridges. The problem is they're REALLY far from everything else.

They're obviously emphasizing boats, and that's cool. Just gotta make sure you stick to the high traffic areas of the map.

Gonna play some carrier mode tomorrow hopefully.

I've really enjoyed Carrier Assault so far. The combination of Conquest & Rush that you get is pretty cool. On the consoles its usually only three missle capture points. I would bet its more than that on PC. Great game mode and DLC in general. Really enjoy the maps.

So I jumped on to play for the first time in a while. I wanted to try out the Carrier Assault. Would you believe there are only 3 servers playing that mode (with players in it) and only one of them has more than 20 players in it? I'm guessing everyone has jumped ship from Battlefield.
