Can anyone recommend a good microphone for the game? I have tried 2, but they don't get close enough to the mouth - BF2 seems to have problems with its VOIP functions.

Any solutions?

Played a bit with Corporation and **** Vermeil tonight. Had my best round evah with 80 on Dragon Valley. I was on fire. Too bad we lost. 400 more and I get the next unlock, then can chill. It will be forever after that to get the next unlock, and the expansion comes out Tuesday.

boo hoo. When i was starting, the ranking intervals went 0-500-1000-10000-25000(i think) so i was at 20K in a month and only had 2 unlocks. Now that was bad. All you newcomers are spoled.

No, i only had 2 unlocks actually, medic at 1,000 and support at 10,000. Then after the new patch i got the g36c, g3, sniper rifle, and the dao. I cant remember when the next upgrade was. I know but i just love driving the BH. In my time i was one of the best BH pilots in the game perhaps and always giving people a good shot. Since the new patch, not as many people like using the BH anymore. For me, driving and manuevering in the BH is maybe my favorite part of the game

Lasty I said this before but im not sure who all noticed it. Im almost always on teamspeak and always am when playing. There are a few people usually playing it. If I am not in the BF2 channel look for me in the querry. I may be still playing but chatting on another channel. Oh, you don't need to wait for a SA to register you. Once you join, click on self and register with server. Then once that is complete you can change channels in TS.

I might bip on for a little while this eve. I got to tell you. Sharqi is my favorite, but it drives me nuts that people don't realize that the whole key to that map is the TV station. It seems when I'm on the MEC, we can't take that point, and when I'm on the Americans, we can't defend it. Go figure.

I had not played Sharqi until recently (obviously) but like it. However, my faves would be Karkand for city, though Mashtuur is gaining my favor as I play it more. For sprawls, I like Wake and Dragon Valley, though Sharqi is getting up there.I find the kit I take is wholly dependent on the map. If it is a city map, 90% medic, 10% other (usually AT or spec ops). If it is an outdoor area, then 80% AT, 20% spec ops.

Congrats Dave on your promotion. I should have it by tomorrow if all goes to plan.Anyone else picking up the expansion? I have it paid for and will have it in hand by tomorrow. Is there any word whether there are unlockables there, as well? I might have to wait on my spec ops unlock if there is something cooler in the expansion and you have to choose. I would hate to have to think I have to go and earn all those points over again.

Getting a new microphone/headphone set from NewEgg arriving today, will pick up the expansion tomorrow. I still wanna know about unlockables with thee expansion and if the unlocks follow the current rank, there is a startover, or what? Maybe they redo the rankings once again to make them more accessible and increase it above 2nd Lt.?

Just installed my new 430W power source (took all of 4 minutes) and then threw that BFG 7800 GT OC in there. I am gonna see how she looks, but I am willing to bet there won't be a dry eye in my office, it will be so durn purty.

I just read that if you have the expansion, it will likely unlock some weapons, such as the spec ops ones, without having to do so without ranking, so I can my way to a free weapon unlock.

Supposedly, there ARE unlocks, but to get them, you have to unlock the tier 1 regular BF 2 unlock. You can even use these weapons in regular BF 2 games if you have them unlocked.

I keep reading a few different scenarios and am somewhat confused but if i had a guess, this is mine. I hear that if that is true though, there is no new unlock for anti tank or sniper. My main thing is if SF will have a separate kind of rankings because 1)I dont want to have to wait 30K to get 1 stinking new weapon when some people just starting can gain 5 unlocks in no time and 2)There wont be enough rankings to get all the weapons over the course of playing.

This is my concern with installing this bad boy - until all of the regular BF2 players update to the new patch released today, you are a lot more limited on servers. Of course, once they do, you get to pVVn them with your equipment while they muddle away with their crap.

They seem to be the only ones without any additions.Seeing as how the assault kit gets a new unlock, I might lean towards unlocking that over spec ops now since you have to have unlocked the lower one to access the new ones.

How do the unlocks work? Are there many servers running? I am not on yet.

its also nice that theres like a humvee with a tow on the back for tank. Its cool to knock a tank out from a car, lol.Oh, and about the unlocks/ servers, i dont know. I am just messing around on single player. the 1.1 patch takes like a half hour to load thoguh so dont think it froze when installing it.

So, it took about 30 minutes for 1.1, then i played single player for a little. SAS has some nice weapons. Im guessing those will be the next unlockables since tthere is no SAS army of course.Looks like the 1.12 JUST came out so im downloading that now. Ill update when I find out how long that takes. Its about 280 MB. Thats pretty big...

I am here at work. I am a few points from my promotion, but because of the expansion I installed, I cannot play anywhere to get it. Then I have to wait for the frigging 280 MB patch to download on my crappy DSL here at work. Oh to have my 5 Mbps service from home downloading this right now.

This 1.10 pre1.12 patch sucks. I am gona do a system restore until I can dl the patch tonight at home and bring it to work.Any servers out there where you can use 1.12 and pVVn the noobs without the expansion?

I played some single player (need to dl the patch), but it is a lot of fun. I am anxiously awaiting the chance to own some people on regular maps that don't have access to the new weapons and equipment. Grapple on up to an inaccessible building in Karkand = GOLD.
