Wow, some of those new weapons are impressive. I really like the new support weapon. Seems a lot more portable and powerful at first use. The other one I am drooling about is this:

is that the engineer gun or what? Also, i dont think you can use grappling hooks or anything other than the weapons and flash grenades in the origanol BF2. I unlocked the spec ops, medic, and assalt class weapons from SF. The support didnt impress me much and the engineer I thought was kinda strange. Im still not sure whos weapon the XM26 M4A1 combo is though. Where did you get that from?

Also, incase you were wondering, the medic g36 is a little more powerful than the spec ops g36 with the same accuracy only it only shoots in bursts.

BTW, I know many wont appreciate this but I got a chuckle or two outta this. The first scene is the one I really cracked up about.

Find a good site with unlock info? Which unlocks were you offered (see mine in post above)? Is it a pre req type deal, have to unlock all old guns before you get all new ones?

When does it give you the unlocks? After you play a bit? I have not been able to play yet, just get it installed. Of course, my global is only about 2500.

Like i said before, I have everything but the 2nd Engineer(MP7) and 2nd support.The f2000 is probably the nicest new gone. Definately get that. Much better than the g3. G36E i think is a really nice gun. Its extremely accurate and better than the G36C. The only draw back is that there is no automatic mode. 3 round burst is the most. I have the SCARL but havent used it much. I've read mixed reviews. Secondly, the MP7 isnt a medic gun, its the Engineer gun I believe from what I remember. Its somewhat like the MP5 I'd assume. One would get it for more of a medium-long range weapon since engie only has shotguns.

There is no anti-tank or sniper unlock and yes, you need to have the tier 1(upgrade from vanilla BF2) weapon before you can get the tier 2 weapon(BF2:SF)

So only me, mad cow, and Corporation have the SF game so far? We should all get online tonight and play it. Im taking my desk top computer home for the weekend just to play it.

My first impression was I didnt really like the game that much. I think it was just because both its new and not familiar but also because some stages dont play well for me. Actually, a number of stages dont play well for me. Artillery, Gas, and Flashbangs cause lots of extreme lag sometimes and it gets annoying. Most the levels are OK, a few ones I like. There was one I absolutely hates. It was Iron something where MEC is trying to steal the USS Essex or something. The problem is that MEC starts with no flag on the ship so theres a bunch of people sitting ducks as they try and get to the docks. Everyone on US just camped and I got on the Essex after like 30 minutes just because the squad leader got on. I spawned with him and we died almost right away. I tried 2x more to get on the ship and couldn't. I just said F it and left. Frustrating map though if someone can actually cap a flag it could get fun. I also had so much lag when inside the ship.

Guess I will go spec ops, then use my 3 unlocks to take medic, spec ops and then I won't even be able to take another one since AT does not get one.

Yeah, it was a nice suprise when I quit that annoying ship game(see story above) and was rewarded with 4 unlocks. I just figured out also I dont have to worry what my next unlock will be. 1st of all Im not even 1/2 way there yet(50K points is SOOOOOOOOO far off) PLUS when I get there Ill get 2 unlocks(One for BF2, the other for SF)

Mad cow has it on the first post but ill tell you how here.1)go to here and click on Downloads to the left screen under the heading team speak 2

2)Download the version you need. For Linux and Windows I think its the bigger of the two options is the one that you download.

3)once its all downloaded and installed, your ready to go to a server. I usually make the servers I go to under the index. To do this go to Connection->connect. Right click on servers and click "add server." Ill just do this for totalfrag TS but its more or less the same. For CNUTS's TS, you can just type in the name of the server correctly like stated in the first post.

4)Label it total frag or some server name that you know what it is. Next, type in the Server(IP) address 66.235.184.50:10608. Make your nick name as you want it seen in the server(your BF2 name most likely). Click on Anonymous for now. Under the Server Password for this teamspeak, type in letmein. Click connect.

5a)OK, now you should be in the main room of the server. This is where an SA needs to allow you to register. The main one is named "d3" who is on the most. If you cant get them to notice you, first try right clicking their name and clicking send text message to player. Ask an SA for registration rights. If that doesnt work and you have a mic, click on Settings->Key Settings->Add->set. Then press the key you would like to use to activate your mic for just specific people. I use the ctrl key but it doesnt matter much. Just make sure it doesnt affect the game much in the games. Click whisper to->player list. Then use the arrow down list to find the SA to whisper to. Make sure to click add and then OK

5b) Then you want to set up the key to talk to people in the channel your in. Go to settings->sound input/output settings->push to talk->set. Now hit the key you would like to hold down to talk to everyone in a channel . I use alt for this but in bf2 it takes the flags off the screen but you can just click alt again to activate the flags again.

6) Whisper to the player in the other channel(#5a) and ask for registration rights.

7) Once you finally get rights, go up to self->register with server. Fill in the info that you want to use (i think it has to be the same log in name that you got rights under but your nickname can be different) and sign in again under the index with your new information but this time as registered and not anonymous. Sorry I cant give more info about signing up but i have only done it a few times and tried the best from memory. You might have to keep messing around with regisration if your not getting in. Its not exactly rocket science though.

8) Log in again this time registered and either look for me(Silent one OR GLAKing) or go into the battlefield 2 room.

9) Game on

I wrote this almost as indepth as I could so hopefully you get this figured out with no confusion. Any questions just give me a holler.

I got in the channel but the SA was playing something, you were in the BF2 channel. I then got timed out from the server, and it wouldn't let me rejoin. It's not even showing there. To make matters worse, when I try to enter a game in SF in a regular BF2 map, it crashes my computer. It is my work computer with the 7800GT, so that might be something, but it even killed my ability to play Desert Combat. I wasted an hour of my LAN party last night when we were supposed to be playing DC manually trying to uninstall all of the BF crap and regedit then reinstall.

I've played the old maps with the new SF cds in. It takes a long time to load but does not crash my box. It appears to shutdown SF, and load bf2 original in the background.I'll be playing tonight, I joined onetime's TS. Happy Thanksgiving all!

Also, I'm going to pick up the X700 Pro for 99 at BestBuy tomorrow, I currently have a 9800 Pro. I don't want to drop 200 for the X800. Thoughts? I currently run the game smoothly at 800X600. I turned it up to 1024, and it was beautiful, but it was not as fluid.

Also, I'm going to pick up the X700 Pro for 99 at BestBuy tomorrow, I currently have a 9800 Pro. I don't want to drop 200 for the X800. Thoughts? I currently run the game smoothly at 800X600. I turned it up to 1024, and it was beautiful, but it was not as fluid.

The X800 XL is a HUGE step up from the X700. I have the X700 on one and the X800 XL on the other, and one runs it on medium/a couple highs well. The X800 runs them all on high very smoothly.

Anyway, I want that new medic gun, but if I take the G3, then I can take flashbangs into regular BF2 maps. Any thoughts here? Well, I feel foolish. I ran a system competition between home system (X800 XL) and office (7800 GT) and my office has less RAM. The 3DMark 05 of the home was 5000, of the office 6700!! I think it must be problems with the install (undid and now have to redo) and the internet connection (DSL vs broadband).

Dang, I tried to play with Corp last night, but by the time I got to the server, he had split.I reinstalled the drivers, and BF2 and BF2:SF on my work computer and overclocked the 7800GT and it is humming along sweetly at high settings now. I have gone from a 6600 3dMark05 to 7300.

I'm getting low virtual memory warnings, and I'm being disconnected from servers whenever the action gets intense. I don't have spyware, I'm running nothing in the background, I have 1 gig Ram on 2.4 ghz processor with a Nvidia 6800 card. So what's the deal? I'm itching to play.

It is just one SOB to get to run. It drains resources and takes forever to load. I am running a 3.0 ghz P4, 1.5 gig RAM and an ATI X800 XL and it took 12 minutes to run the optimize for a SF map the other day. :X They will need to fix this in the next patch, because as a resource hog, this is making Far Cry look like Solitaire. You might need to tone down your settings. It will depend on a couple of things, though - Ping, # players on server and graphics settings. Choose servers with 32 or less to stay safer.

I don't know why it optimizes shaders so much, it seems like it does it every other time for me.In other news, I'm pretty disappointed with the X700, I'm thinking of taking it back. Even though it is 256 vs 128 on my old 9800 pro, I've not noticed a major performance bump.

I'd really be dropping another 200 as I got the x700 for 99 at BestBuy on BF, which I don't want to do. It's actually been pretty stable as of late, I've been playing Madden for the last few days and it looks great, as does NBA Live.

I played as commander for 2 games this morning, and it was a lot of fun. First game, we barely lost, but we were really behind early on when I realized we had NO commander, so I stepped up and we almost pulled it out. (Wake 2007)Second game, I hit them hard with arty and kept it up. Kept the UAV's flying where they needed and we wasted them (Sharqi)

Just did commander again and really like it. I tend to stay very active. Call out where baddies are and where going, constantly send UAV's to those getting hit or getting a flag, arty on enemy concentrations. Lots of fun here.
