Played 2 rounds during lunch today, got the Gold Engineer badge but more importantly, I owned our boy HuSTL3R 5 times to his naught.
I have gone from one of the top the first couple weeks of this game to the bottom of the bunch.Pork and I had a good time last night. I introduced him to the joys of Titan gun shooting, so he likes Titan a bit more. I'm pretty far away from any more badges, so I was just playing for fun. Then Pork and I got up on the Titan and we were alone, we blew up all four consoles and then I got the core for the Gold Titan Destructor badge![]()
Always seems to be the way, badges come to you easier when you just play in the flow. About a thousand away from Brig. General now, but there are no more badges that can come quickly (except for the hated Titan Attack Gold). Still 15 hours away from Gold in both the Engineer and Support kits. How the heck did you get up there so quick? I'm barely pushing 10K! Do you actually check to see what you need to get certain pins before you begin playing? I find myself just logging on and playing rather than check to see what I need (which is what I should be doing).
At least we've got a couple of guys in our clan that are way up there...![]()

Not having high speed internet service for a month knocked me out. What a punk that guy was. How did you track him down, I know he isn't on your buddy list. Did you use the All Seeing Eye?Played 2 rounds during lunch today, got the Gold Engineer badge but more importantly, I owned our boy HuSTL3R 5 times to his naught.
What was this guy doing? What a punk that guy was. How did you track him down, I know he isn't on your buddy list. Did you use the All Seeing Eye?Played 2 rounds during lunch today, got the Gold Engineer badge but more importantly, I owned our boy HuSTL3R 5 times to his naught.
well, either he tracked ME down or it was just random. Or maybe I happened to be playing on the same server we "met" him on.What a punk that guy was. yeah, alot of EST guys. Ive jumped on at midnight twice this week only to see everyone go off in 5 minutes. So i just go to a conquest map and blow people's heads off as reconman, titan mode really is hell on a ####ty video card. i mean, i got my freaking purple heart because of the lag. i never even got my purple heart on bf2,(my brother picked it up for me) and that was my first shooter game since team fortress. You guys are all EST, huh? I need to get on schedule with sgt.cramer. I always get 1 round in and you bail. Then it is no fun to stick around, so I bail.![]()
So what was your excuse for bailing tonight?I could always use help getting ribbons. I am so far behind you guys it is silly, but alas, that is the way it goes sometimes.CST representing! No more ranks to go after now so I'd like to help other people get ribbons. Helped Pork out the other night.
Yeah, Titan mode needs a good video card to keep up with it all. Of course, you can get bad lag from a commander moving the Titan while there is combat going on inside, as well.yeah, alot of EST guys. I should be asleep, I have a phone interview tomorrow.Jump on tomorrow and I should be able to play late. Do research and figure out which badges/ribbons you need.So what was your excuse for bailing tonight?I could always use help getting ribbons. I have not OC'd the E6300 yet, I'm having temp problems as is.Hey Gator Shawn - have you overclocked that CPU yet? I am working on my 165 in this gaming rig and have it clocked to 2.8 GHz (from 1.8 GHz stock) and is stable as can be. Temps are OK, and I think I could probably get 2.9 to 3.0 out of this baby. That is the equivalent of between an E6600 and an E6800 Core2Duo, so I am feeling pretty good about this machine. It screams right now.Have it at 311X9, but want to bump it to 323?9 this weekend, though I might need to upgrade my HSF from the Zalman CNPS7000-Cu that it is.

If I go above 280 my system won't post. I'm sitting stable at 275 which is 2.5GHZ. 40% increase over stock.Mad Cow said:Hey Gator Shawn - have you overclocked that CPU yet? cred no.Yeah, I have my RAM down to 133, as well. 311 has it up to 200, stock. I know my RAM can do 230, so I might try bumping it to 166. I got it back before Christmas with some of your advice. I may do what maelstrom did and reseat the heat sink and cpu. How hot is too hot anyway?Bah, they run hot anyway. When did you get the E6300? Yep, that's what I did basically. I may have put it on a little too thick last time, or just didn't get it seated properly. Either way, it's working good now.If you want a properly seated HSF on the CPU, add just a very small amount of AS5 (the size of a BB or grain of rice) to the center of the CPU, then press down with the HSF and twist it slightly to get the thermal to spread. It does not need to be over the whole CPU - just the middle 1/3 or so.And yes, it will dry. It does better as it cures, in fact.
I checked it out. Looks graphically pretty cool but really sounds like a modpack for BF2142 in terms of not being very unique.Bump
There is a whole spread on it in Games For Windows (formerly CGM) thsi month, and it is very very different.I checked it out. Looks graphically pretty cool but really sounds like a modpack for BF2142 in terms of not being very unique.Bump
That magazine used to be CGM? Looks like it, but is the same magazine at heart. Changed the name due to the push by Microsoft to standardize PC gaming, which IMO is not a bad thing. Games will be certified Games for Windows, meaning they conform to certain standards of resolution and such. Really a pretty good idea to revitalize PC gaming as a whole. That magazine used to be CGM? The TVGM on the Gunship is controlled by the standard X-Y axles of your mouse, the same used to look around when you are on foot. Now the neat part.
Go to your options. Pop to controlls. Now, in Common Controls under the Movement section you can see "Look up, Look down, Turn left, Turn Right" and under Primary key they have the -Mouse Axle 1 etc.... Now just put in some keys under the secondary part!
This should explain it.
Click me for picture!
Now, you can fly those pesky missiles by just tapping whatever keys you assigned there!
I personally went for the numpad 8, 4, 5, 6 because its a WASD like system closest to my mouse. You can just aswell use the arrowkeys though, or even a joystick
This makes controlling those speedy pests alot easier!
I put it in my BF2 at work and will give it a try. In BF2 - it is only listed under helicopter under pitch and roll.I just tried out the key remap for the TV missiles on single player. Just you wait. It's the most amazing thing you will have ever unlocked on BFx
Nice. That is like an experience I had with BF2 which is somewhere in this thread where with an APC I pVVn3d 3 APC's and 2 tanks end on end. Those are gaming moments that literally make you jump and shout.I may have just had the coolest BF2142 Experience to date today. Tried to play gunner tonight but the pilot wasn't cooperating. We ended up with a Doragon on our 6. Pilot tried weakly to evade and we were at 12 health. He bailed out, but I stayed and took over. Managed to do a circumference turn (mouse one way, movement keys the other) and get a few rockets off before he launched another salvo. I bailed before his rockets hit, spun in the air and fired a pilum at him before my feet hit the ground. BOOM! I parachuted down to safety while he went down in a crumpled heap of blood and guts.
I've never had the tables turned on me like that and don't think I turned them on anyone else that badly.
I turned the game off and walked away.
I only wish I had fraps turned on.
gasm.Confirmed. I got the Gold Engineer Badge right after you left. My last one is the Gold Support. The kills won't be hard to get with that one. Still need 12 hours or so.FYI - About Titan Gun repairsYou get 2 pts (1 tw, 1 repair) for each Titan gun you bring from destroyed back to functioning (not fully repaired, but functioning) regardless of whether anyone is using it. You max out at 16 points from this method. You get 1 repair point for each occupied Titan gun you full repair (or some combination on multiple guns). There is no limit to these points.
Did you know that you get these points if you are an engineer, manning a gun and another gun gets hit? I discovered this when I was doing this and checked my score and wasConfirmed.
