C and C 3 looks great, but like all other RTS games, i know ill get tired of it once every uber nerd on the planet perfects build orders and 3 minute tank rushes. I dont like losing

Nope, not me. I'm still playing Generals. I go from BF2, to Civ4, to Generals depending on how quickly I want to can some butt. Generals is usually the 2-3 hours time frame.

Yeah, but do you play online? I find RTS suck online.

Nah. I just play against the machine. I tried to get other people, that i know, to play but everyone schedule is wacked. I was excited that Civ4 had that Pitboss, but again, no one to play with. And with four kids, I really can't schedule a consistent time either...

The game is beautiful. Supreme Commander got a lot of props for the visuals but I prefer C&C 3 in that area. I still think the UI in Supreme Commander was awesome.

You're my new hero. BF2, SC, and C&C? Wow! I am impressed. If you could only play one, which would it be? Or anyway of looking at this, if you see yourself playing one of these in a year, which one would it be? Do both of them have a Skirmish mode?

I'll be on tonight for sure. I just picked up a new monitor and it makes a huge difference. It is a widescreen, however, and I can't seem to get the game to run in 4:3, so it is stretched into widescreen. Anyone have thoughts on how to fix that?

Oh well, It's because we didn't play for money of course. I'm telling you, I've never not gotten my money backj at least on one of these things. I'm not bragging, because I'm really not very knowledgeable about NCAA basketball.

Rules are simple, 6x6 roto (R, RBI, SB, HR, AVG, OPS / W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, HLD). 25 man roster, start C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, 3 OF, U, 2 SP, 2 P, 1 RP. There is no fee, but I'm looking for this to be a serious league, already have a few interested owners. Preference will be given to people I "know" from the board (i.e. from Pick's basketball league, noted baseball guys, gaming nerds, etc). Looking for 12 teams minimum, may stretch to 14 and wouldn't mind 16.

Can keep as many as you want, but you lose a draft pick for every player you keep. So if all teams but one kept 25 of 25 players and the other team kept 20, that team would have the first 5 picks of next year's draft, and then the draft would resume in reverse order of finish the previous year. Serpentine drafts.

If the league fills up quickly enough, we will have an online draft via Yahoo Friday night at 10 PM EDT (9 CDT). If not, we will do the draft offline and load the rosters. The league will begin keeping stats as soon as possible.

I've got huge BF2 bug problems right now. It loads, starts, and then eventually the screen goes black for an instant before restoring, and then repeating, only more often than before, and eventually the program shuts down and returns me to the desktop. I've updated my graphics driver and the settings are all on the lowest, but no luck. Any ideas?

Just to augment what I was saying regarding my problems- My OS is as follows:

Dell Dimension 2400 desktop running on Windows XP, Pentium 4, 2.66 Ghz, 1 GB RAM, 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500.

This worked fine two years ago in getting BF2 to run, but I'm wondering whether the updates have rendered this obsolete.

In looking into this more, it's looking like the video card is the problem. I'm also finding tonight that I can't play Company of Heroes any more. That video card was a cheap fix at the time I bought it 2 years ago, and now I've got to address the problem again.

Does anyone have a good video card suggestion for me on this one? I'm not looking for a $400 top of the line card as I don't exactly have a gaming rig, but I'd spend up to $200 to maybe $250 for a good card that will play what I want it to and not be non-functional in a year. I'm looking at the GeForce 8800 GT right now as a very good solution, though it's just out of the top of my price range.

When I bought it two years ago it was the minimum that allowed me to play BF2 and then WoW (which I got so involved in I just dumped BF2 . . . until now). It seems to still work all right as long as I regularly tighten the rubber bands.
