***OFFICIAL*** FFA Heavy Music Thread - No banal, anodyne "Dad Rock" BS here.. (1 Viewer)

On a separate note, friend of mine commented on how this opens the door for Mudvayne to reunite. He is a huge fan so he looks for every opportunity for this to happen. I personally think the ship has sailed on them, but I guess crazier things have happened.

Well i just got back from vegas.....and i could of sworn i saw him walking fremont street downtown on Thursday....i even said to my wife....that looks like the drummer from pantera

Any Fear Factory fans in here?  I feel like they are completely underrated.  I kind of lost track of them after Archetype.  Going through their last 4 albums recently....some good stuff in there.

Every time I hear this on the radio, I enjoy it. Might need to listen to some of their stuff

That's pretty good. I'll definitely check out their album when it comes out in a couple of weeks. From the reviews it sounds like this is a little different from their older stuff with a new vocalist. Will look into that too.

Their live show makes converts. I had a buddy at the Voodoo Festival who is into Irish folk music and indie rock that had no interest in Ghost. I begged him to go see them despite his protests.

He came back to work Monday and by noon had bought tickets to see them at House of Blues in Orlando. He's been counting down the days to the next album release.
My son and I are seeing them at The Filmore in South Beach in November. We can't wait!!!!

They did?! Amazing song.
Yeah, they played it all last tour, but removed it on the first show of this one.  They played Sunbather and Dream House from "Sunbather" and Come Back & Brought to the Water from "New Bermuda" along with "From the Kettle Onto the Coil" and 4 songs off the new record.

These guys have my number. Pretty much love everything they’ve done. Seeing them tonight.
I can't even explain what their music does for me. I love them so much.

The show was awesome. Didn’t play very long and they didn’t play the ####### Pecan Tree (?!?) but they sounded awesome. Highly recommend.

A friend of mine has been posting Radiohead live videos for 2 concerts now. Sounds awesome. I've always liked the music but after a few songs in a row, the vocals start to annoy me. But I wanna give them a proper listening to. Where do I start? Obvious request for @Evilgrin 72 but all opinions welcome.

The Bends
OK Computer
Kid A
OK Computer

Four incredible records.  All of their stuff is good, but those four are the biggies.  Just beware that Kid A is a complete departure from their alt rock stylings of the 90's.

Seems weird to discuss them in a metal thread  , but Radiohead is awesome, so there we go.

I think Kid A is when I tried getting into them. I listened to the whole album a couple of times and liked it but it just didn't grab me.

That is a good start.  Keep listening and before you know it, it will be owning your soul.

@jamny

I would have somebody start there, and then In Rainbows and Hail to the Thief.  I think IR is their 3rd best album, and HTTT is a good blend of the past and where they are going on their newest couple.
I think Hail to the Thief is a bit long (there are 3-4 songs I could get rid of and make it more cohesive overall), but it is still pretty damn great, and has several of my favorite Radiohead songs to date (Where I End and You Begin and Sail to the Moon), not to mention the massive fan favorite There There.

For sure (I am not a fan of We Suck Young Blood and others), I was just trying to think of somebody not overly familiar with them, and that might be a decent bridge album.
