***Official*** FFA iDating Thread (1 Viewer)

Since this thread seems to be coming back to life, I will throw my hat in the ring. Had a basic profile on Yahoo some months back with minimal activity, so would appreciate some help from the female FFAers to see what info may need to be provided for a good profile.

Basics: 42, divorced, 2 kids (split custody), stable job, stable person (at least I like to think so:)

At this point, primarily looking to meet new people and have some fun. Where it goes from there, who knows.

Am I a lost cause...posting for help in the FFA?

Write something up for whatever you're going for, send to Krista4. She's very good at helping out.

In reading the thread, I thought she might be able to help, but didn't want to be pushy and just send a blind PM. Thanks for the heads up (you'll be my reference:)

Still dating the hot biker chick with a master's degree I met at fitnesssingles. She's been great in the saddle to ride with.

So went out with my buddies tonight. Saw a girl I went on a few dates with from match. As we were chatting her friend walked up. Just happened I dated her friend off of match too.

Giggity!!!!!!

So I roped in my first IDating chick and we both are off next week (spring break).

Anyone have a good suggestions for first time date location? Guess a random bar in NYC/Northern NJ could work. Take me under your wings boys

Depends on what you're looking for. Quick sex, in and out type of thing? If so then you need to get inside her apartment (or yours) ASAP. Go out for ice cream. Be funny and charming, but don't talk too much. Just listen. Women love to talk about themselves a lot, so just listen and ask questions. After ice cream go to Blockbuster and pick out ONE movie. Go to her apartment (or yours) and go the first 30 minutes without throwing yourself at her. After the 30 minutes is up tear that bleep! up.

Interesting strategy there. Ice cream, eh?

I was 2-2 with a similar plan (beers one time, chicken wings another)

You start talkin' puppy dogs and ice cream and it's always going to end up on the friendship tip...

Update, not that it's much: Still single. Dating here and there, though not so much lately since I have been so busy with other stuff. Will give more updates as events warrant. (may post some more details in the Underground on a couple people.)

BTW--to take breaks at work, I'm making the "iDating Greatest Hits" file. Should be good, especially since this is 51 pages of hilarity.
Update?I miss this thread.
Katie moved in this past weekend. :bag:
Woah! :bag:Last I heard she dumped your ###. So you have a kid living with you now? Or am I thinking of a different chick?
:lmao:No kids...that was either Jill (psycho, nutjob that brought her kids on the first and last date) or Amanda (:shocker:) who had one.Katie and I did break up in February I think.

I have the worst notebook ever. So uhhh... congrats?

1. This weekend eharmony is free and I've set up a profile.

2. I'm more than willing to hand over the reins to someone. I did this before and it was fun. Any takers? Only caveat is that I must approve of her before you set up a meeting.

I have an update too!

I started talking to a guy on Plentyoffish in February or so. We chatted on and off for a couple months, then I wasn't around for a while because I was crazy busy. Logged back on again in May and recontacted him just so he didn't think I stopped talking to him because he'd offended me or something. We started chatting again and then met in person at the end of June. I wasn't expecting a heck of a lot - we had good conversations but I got much more of a friend vibe from him online. (He's also teetering at the very upper edge of my acceptable age range and that kind of threw me a bit.) The first meeting went much better than I thought - turns out we have tons in common. (and he was much cuter in person than in his pictures!) We had a couple long phone conversations after that, met up at the Taste of Chicago the next weekend...and have spent pretty much every weekend together since then. At first it was pretty obvious that he was much more into me than I was into him...but I've really grown quite fond of him. I will also say that of all the PoF guys, he's the only one I've introduced to my family. (They like him!)

So we'll see how this goes. :)

As of one hour ago, Stu is ***Officially*** single again.
Gllllllll StuBring us non-single schleps some good times again in this thread :goodposting:
Update: Got a text from her a couple hours ago. She wants me to pick up a tshirt she wore home one morning. Ackbar?
Do you want the tshirt? If not, just tell her to throw it away ...... with your heart
lol. I actually do want the shirt. It was from an event (bike race) so not something I can pick up at the store. I instantly regretted not grabbing one I wouldn't mind not seeing again. That mistake won't be repeated.EDIT: Told her I'd swing by after work Thursday.

:welcome: Just FYI, you don't have to actually be divorced before starting. Or so I've heard...
How about I wait until I'm a little less f'd up in the head over the whole thing :)
That's one way to do it. Others prefer to find a welcome harbor in a storm. Good luck either way. :)

OK, I really wasn't planning on doing the idating thing again. I seem to have much better luck sarging and may even still have a girlfriend. But I was bored last night when I got some generic "come see your new matches for the week" message from plentyoffish.

I never deleted my profile, just made it unsearchable. So I logged in and browsed a little. There were actually a few cute girls out there. :own3d:

I figured what the heck and fired off a one liner to two who weren't looking for anything serious. Now I remember why this was fun. Here's the full message string with a freshly divorced 26 year old...

Background: one of her pictures had the caption "I'm on the right. (in the blue if you're an idiot)"

Stu: What color are you in if I'm not an idiot?

Chick: Pink of course!

(note - other girl in pic was wearing pink)

Stu: Now I think you're just pulling my leg.

Chick: Yes b/c if you are not an idiot..................I wear nothing.......................

********ON STRIKE FOR THE MOMENT MAY BE BACK SOMETIME********--------OFFICIALLY ON GUY STRIKE BUT KEEPING PROFILE OPEN FOR WHEN I ACTUALLY DECIDE TO START DEALING WITH GUYS AGAIN UNTIL THEN I WON'T RESPOND TO MESSAGES OR BE ON HERE GOOD LUCK FISHING, AND MAYBE SOMETHING WILL MAKE ME THINK GUYS ARE WORTH PUTTING UP WITH HERE SOMETIME SOON IN THE FUTURE UNTIL THEN I'M JUST GUNNA STAY OUT OF THE DATING SCENE----------
Strong urge to send a "Nicola, wait" message.
