Just adding, that although I know that you view Lawschool as much different from undergard, you need to be playing up the "we're both students" angle. Chances are, she might be sketched out at the idea of dating someone who is not in college, while at the same time, kind of interested in the excitment and "difference" of it. Law school is the perfect blend for that place in her life. You're older, but technically, still a student, so still in her comfort zone.

ok this is getting frustrating, I think my bait is *too* good. I get email replies, they checkout my profile, and I get the "Read Deleted" in my sent msgs screen. I assume this is another blow off:Email 1:

For a long time I have been interested in aromatherapy and essential oils and a few years ago I took a seminar at the Open Center on essential oils and they talked about soap making as a good way to utilize essential oils. I dont make soap as often as I once did since I don't have an abundance of free time. My profile is not a fake one, I have seen a few that look fake though. Take care.<mystery brunette>

I have never been outside the US except for Mexico. I do enjoy travel I just have not had much opportunity for that. Maybe I am calling myself "out" too early - continue pursuing this one? If I send a follow up it won't be until tomorrow morning or better yet in the afternoon, maybe just continue the same friendly vibe and ask her where she likes to hangout in NYC. She is definitely "my type": (pic is in the underground)

i understand this but the whole idating thing seems very physical to me - if they aren't immediately attracted to your picture, you got nothing whereas in real life they may have heard things about you from others, seen you in several different settings, etc. Just trying to make my stock look as good as possible and lack the means in the picture department. but yeah, it's not like I can say "hey, I look better now than my pictures now!" or some crap like that.

i took out the bulk of stuff which made me sound different - that mix is hopefully what i was going for. i know i'd be impressed as hell if i was in undergrad and a cute chick in law school showed interest in me, so i'm thinking so long as i don't come off as too immature like some frat dude but not some old ####### i'll be all right.
 
Woz - stop being so insecure, do not give women multiple choice questions and you should probably avoid talking about Matlock especially with younger women since they probably have no clue who that is.

I don't think either of these girls is necessarily blowing you off--they would have written much less or not responded at all. I think you're in their "maybe" category and they're just keeping you in play to see if you continue to be interesting. They might also just be really bad at this. I'd give them another chance.
 
Sorry I missed the Woz e-mail. Looks like you guys improved it a bit, though it was definitely still about twice as long as it should have been. I'm glad you lost the "earning power" or whatever it was line--I would have thought that very obnoxious. I would have deleted the reference to "the real world", too, since Woz isn't in it yet. But at least it was better than usual and ought to keep the lines of communication open. :goodposting:

There's way too much serious in these e-mails I think.

For what it's worth, I have 15 or 20 cuties (not super hot, but attractive) lined up that I could meet for drinks, but I haven't made the time to meet them -- and it is all based on one and two line e-mails, keeping the e-mail chain very short, and suggesting we meet for drinks very quickly. That's the shark play. Pen pals are for guppies.

 
I actually think I'm going to try and make an effort to start seeing some of these girls in the next couple weeks. I've probably burned a couple bridges by taking numbers and saying I was gonna meet and then never following up, but there's plenty more out there. If nothing else, I think I'd like to do this for the shtick factor alone.

 
FWIW I tried Friendster the other day, now keep in mind, I did not go nuts on my profile (filled out the bare minimum) and I just created an account with no friends linked-in. I scoured the NY profiles and sent out a bunch of 1 liners one night and got zip out of it, well I got like 30 profile views. There is definitely talent there, a lot of talent that closed off all communication to people not in their network.

Agreed re: the closed off talent -- the hottiest hotties on Friendster don't want to be pestered. There's boatloads of talent on Match too. I've noticed that the hottest hotties are a whole lot less likely to respond, but there are solid cuties that seem open.

So if you send a hook and they are attracted to you are you saying she will not write back because the hook seems desperate?It is a no-lose proposition. If you are on the fence looks wise the long email that you spent 10-15 minutes writing is not going to gain you any ground then the hook that took 5 minutes to whip together. I save the "meat" for the follow up emails when I know this is one of the 10% or whatever that finds my looks agreeable and then I invest my time. Gives me more time to send out more lures.

This isn't with someone new, though. This is a guy from Lavalife whom I went out with on the day before the Super Bowl. We had a good dinner but I totally got the impression he was just not that into me at all. I didn't hear from him after that date...until about a month ago. Apparently my impression was wrong. *lol*

I do not play for my college team. I played fastpitch softball for my high school with 3 years on the JV level catching. My senior year some things happened and so I did not play and that carried on into college. I have played slowpitch softball for 14 years and I do continue to do that now in leagues with friends throughout the summer and fall. When playing slowpitch I either pitch or play in the infield. Outfield was ok but I'm a pretty slow runner to be honest with you "pretty slow" is an understatement.

I have changed my major a few times, right now it's Alcohol and Drug Studies, before that it was Physical Education Teaching and soon it may be Early Childhood Education. Who really knows. I know I am getting to a point where I need to decide but this is the one area in my life where I really just don't know what to do. Technically I am a senior in college but I have a feeling it might be a while longer.

So are you from St. Cloud then, or is that just where you are at now? That's not really too close to where I'm located but I guess somethings can be worked out if we decided to hang out sometime (I should add I haven't met someone from here before).

I majored in alcohol and drug studies in college also...Well not majored really, was more of an independent study type thing...
