***OFFICIAL*** FFA MLB Draft (1 Viewer)

I owe two descriptions...I'll start with the pick which seems to have disappointed a few people. I needed another outfielder and this pick fills that need. Averill was a 6 time All-Star for Cleveland. His career started late as he toiled away in semi-pro ball before Cleveland signed him as a 27 year.

Upon entering the league, his talent was apparent as he went 7 straight years in the top 9 in home runs. He played centerfield which is a plus as I have Williams and Delahanty also out there, neither of which are capable of doing it. He was also the starting CF for the AL in the first 5 All-Star games.

He also helped end Dizzy Dean's career in the 1937 All-Star game by injuring his toe on a line-drive.
Had to be one of the higher ranking players left..James mentioned that when he got elected to the HOF, he used his platform to blast the Hall for not electing him sooner. :rotflmao: Of course, this was in 1975, so the dude was probably pushing 80, but I thought that line was funny.

Thanks guys, now go #### yourselves..

When I took Goslin I thought long and hard about taking Averill. In the end I felt like Goslin's career totals deserved to be drafted higher since they were similar players. Tough call at the time.

Im leaving the office, will be back on tonight........ about 4 hours from now.
:hophead:
My Bill Joyce pick left him breathless. He knew that all was lost, and can no longer go on living the lie that is his lineup.
Joyce was a sneaky pick. Bet not many knew the name. He ranks surprisingly high on the all time OPS list for a guy who hit 70 homeruns in 8 seasons.

I really thought we would get at least mid next round. Holding out hope, since we usually go pretty quick.

Eight light towers from Ebetts Field were moved to Downing Stadium on Randall’s Island. (Is there any chance they are still at Randall's Island (we used to have track meets there)

Unless Cap (who's running the draft) gives me an OK, Id prefer to wait for now. Not my decision to just go and I wouldnt want to #### it up for someone. Trust me, I am as anxious as you as I was (am?) hoping to make this turn.

he's here...

Do I have 8 hours from the moment Bogart picks, or does it start tomorrow morning, so I really have until tomorrow 4pm? tia

Rafael Palmeiro - 1B

Pitching is all looking the same and the guys I want should be around for awhile, so I decided to get a bat for my bench.

551 HRs (10th All Time)

1775 RBIs (17th All-Time)

572 Doubles (17th All-Time)

1161 Extra Base Hits (8th All-Time)

1616 Runs (38th All-Time)

2922 Hits (33rd All-Time)

I could go on, but people are waiting. History is going to treat this guy really really well.

Oh, and 3 Gold Gloves and 4 time All-Star

sorry about the wait guys.....I literally logged off AFTER I turned the lights out in my office, and didn't see two of the guys that were suppose to pick in front of me even in the FFA. I really didn't expect to even be up tonight.....
