btw, why can't I use chat?playing live kind of sucks when I can't talk at all.Capella, when you got the team switched over to me, shouldn't I also get chat capability?Nipsey, please tell John to hook me up. Throw a couple ribs down his throat if that will help get it done.TIA.
John,I know you're a new member of FBG and check this thread frequently. Please make this request happen. It will be a kind gesture that will certainly not go unappreciated by this fake FBG mod. I'm sure I can make your stay here more comfortable, despite my lack of authority, or any real power whatsoever.Gracias mi amigo,-Aaron

Aaron...lets play a game live...we have one upcoming
OK, but it has to be quick.
Still around?
sorry, I was around earlier...but I gotta crash.maybe tomorrow.
You didn't even play when you were around.
I challenged both you and Capella, but you wound up playing with each other. It happened, Pickles.
:wall: Cappy offered to play you. He kept asking you to join him for a game. I waited on the sidelines for well over 5 minutes before just saying #### it and jumping in.

sorry, I was around earlier...but I gotta crash.maybe tomorrow.
:fishing:I don't recall seeing anything like that happen.I was waiting and waiting.GDB not having chat capabilities.

What does the username have to do with the simulation? I mean, I realize you've exhibited a level of classlessness throughout this thread, but the sim information is copied directly from the sim to this page. If you can't trust that, you're grabbing at straws.I'll run another one, if you like.
Tell you what. You download OOTP. It costs only $19.95. I'll e-mail you the file and the settings (stats all converted to modern, players 100% based on OOTP ratings, ratings exceeding 100). You can run the sim yourself.

Any sim that allows Bonds to hit 85 homers against the greatest pitchers of all-time isn't worth the $20, imo.

MVP: Barry Bonds (Harrier) -- 85HR, 1.276 OPS

Dude, it's real. Stop.
85 homers?
Surprising to me too--but that's what happens when you run it with the modern baseball settings. You can run it to deadball era too, or rebirth, golden era, or boom. Which would you like me to run it in?Deadball: 1900-1920Rebirth: 1921-1945Golden Era: 1946-1960Boom: 1961-1979Modern: 1980+

Is there a "Capella is awesome" option? That's the only way he'll be satisfied.

Yes.
I disagree.
With what exactly? You don't have to like it for it to be the actual result. You really should buy OOTP. It's pretty cool.
May check it out sometime. That's a pretty stupid number though.I don't really get too bothered by the results/standings..run it 100 times, you get 100 different answers. But Bonds jacking 85 is outrageous.

No, his team pretty much grades out poorly in the modern baseball sim. Maybe it would do better in another era?

I think you may be missing the point here..

So take your pick--which era?

Okay, I'll run it in deadball.

actually... Bonds would hit MORE home runs against great pitchers than he would against pitchers in our era now...Bonds gets intentionally walked like 1/2 the times he goes up to the plate IRL...he will NEVER get intentionally walked against the greatest pitchers ever...his 85 home runs in the OOTP sim that Winner did was probably with FEWER HR/AB than he had the season used (I think it was his 70 HR season that got used, too, due to the third WIS season rule...)

I think you're losing your mind larry.I could beat this statement 8 ways till next week, but I'll just say that if you think Bonds is going to hit 12 more homers in a season than he ever did before while facing the likes of Walter Johnson, Cy Young, Lefty Grove, and just about every other HOF pitcher, as opposed to the modern days guys he gets on a daily basis like Steve Traschel, Mike Myers and Tim Wakefield (oops  ) then you are absolutely out of your mind.

by the way, Bonds gets walked a lot now because he is a) really really good b) the pitching is really, really bad and c) he has Pedro Feliz behind him in the lineup.Only option a) would still exist here in the sim, larry.

yes, but less walks = more HRs... 2001 36 SFG NL 153 476 129 156 32 2 73 137 13 3 177 93 .328 .515 .863 411 0 2 35 9 5stat line from 2001... he hit a homer every 6.52 ABs... but he had 177 walks... let's lower than by 87... to 90... give him 87 more at bats... at 6.52 AB/HR... he would gain 13 home runs...so it isn't that far fetched...Now, do I think it is realistic? Pro'lly not... I think he shouldn't be getting that many homers... but do I think it shows the sim is bad/stupid? Nope...

he would get less walks against those all-time great pitchers than against the crappy pitchers he faces now...he'd pro'lly got ZERO IBBs and he'd pro'lly get a lot less walks, too, 'cuz the all-time greats aren't gonna give up as many as the modern guys will...
