First Bible question; where is heaven? I mean physically. Is it on Mt. Olympus, up above the clouds, in a galaxy far, far away? Where? I want to know.

Second question. Where is Hell? If I started digging and tried to get to China would I hit Hell first?

The Bible doesn't actually say...and I doubt it seriously...

Actually, I will elaborate a little bit on this...

"Hell" is two things, and we mix them when we speak of it:

1. "Hades" which is just where you go when you die to await judgement... not sure what this exactly intails...

2. the "Lake of Fire" in Revelations... where "hades" and Satan and un-believers go when they are found to be not right with God at judgement....

the second is the fiery place we think of, the first one likely is not...

I honestly have no idea... outside the universe maybe... in another dimension possibly....no real idea... the Bible doesn't even give a hint...

While the Bible says Heaven is a real place that can be seen and touched and inhabited by beings with material bodies, it doesn't specify where it currently is. The Bible also says it is a realm not confined to an area delimited by height, width, and breadth. In fact eventually earth will become the new earth and will be a part of Heaven.

While the Bible says Heaven is a real place that can be seen and touched and inhabited by beings with material bodies, it doesn't specify where it currently is. The Bible also says it is a realm not confined to an area delimited by height, width, and breadth. In fact eventually earth will become the new earth and will be a part of Heaven.

not exactly...Revelations says there will be a New Heaven AND a New Earth, and the they are connected...

but it doesn't really say how they are connected or the relationship is between them or what the purpose of the new Earth is...

If anything the New Heaven will be part of the New Earth, not the other way around...

 
Third question. Angels? Just in general I want to know stuff. Were there angels before or after man? Do new angels get made? Do angels die? Do angels and demons ever fight? If so I assume sometimes they die and we need new angels and demons so I assume they must have a way of making more which would mean angel sex.

about angel sex... not necessarily...but... the Bible tells us very little of angels... actually, it tells us pretty much nothing at all...

Sweet. Getting answers from Spock and Larry Boy both. That part about material bodies in heaven got me thinking....I wonder what you go to heaven looking like. Like if you die as a 98 year old beat up shell of a man do you go to heaven like that or do you get in as yourself in your prime.

you get a new "perfect" body...I don't know what that all entails, but some think that we'll be able to fly and stuff... which would be cool...

but we get a perfect reedeemed body...

oh yeah, did I mention many MANY think that there is no sex in heaven???

The Bible speaks a lot about angels, just not specifically about what you are asking.

lolangels appear, but the Bible doesn't tell us where they come from or how they do things, only that they exist, and even then it says very VERY little about them...

if your interested in angels/demons read "This Present Darkness" and "Piercing the Darkness" by Frank Peretti... pretty decent books...

Does the Bible explain heaven much? I mean, what will it be like? I'm not going by all acounts, but am curious. Do you think it will "live up" to its reputation?

When Adam and Eve were created they didn't know they were naked until they sinned. Some conclude from this that their bodies were "heavenly", and perhaps there was some sort of "light" so to speak that covered their earthly body. When they sinned they no longer had the "light" and could see their nakedness. Maybe our bodies in Heaven are similar.

The Bible pretty much says it is to good to actually describe...but it does say there will be a long time of silence (I've heard 30 minutes... I've also heard like 24 hours or something) where people are just in awe of it so much that they can't speak or do anything...

So, yeah, I think it will be great...

I wanna say Revelations 19 or 20 describes the new heaven... it sounds incredible... :thumbup:

Ok. Seems reasonable. This is what I'm kind of thinking though...lets say you are a good Christian and marry a good Christian woman and she dies. When she goes up to Heaven and waits for you and you end up going up there with another wife is she going to be mad? Also, can you sin in heaven? Like lets say in that situation...what if she gets really pissed and committs some sin (I don't know what the sins are but lets just say like tries to kill you up in heaven) is she going to get booted out?

Malachi has some good stuff on this, and it's a short book, so you could read it pretty quick. Your remarriage may be a sin depending on why you got divorced. It's divorce that God despises, not remarriage.

Wow. That's really cool. Interesting stuff. I wish I was smarter. Seriously...I think if I was I'd consider religion more...it's just so hard to even start to comprehend this stuff though.

no marriage (and very VERY likely no sex) in heaven...I don't think we'll remember our life on earth much when we get there... but again, I don't know...

I'm against divorce too. It happens and is a bad situation, but it really is a bad situation. If I get married and she cheats on me I'm not going to beat on her or shoot her lover or anything. That'd be divorce time. If she decides to get divorced for whatever reason...not much you can do. I hate it when people get married basically "expecting" a divorce though. Really is a problem w/ our society imo.

There is no marriage in Heaven.As for our ability to sin, I don't know. I would think we can't, but that would mean we have no free will in Heaven. There is no promise that I know of that we will have free will in Heaven.
