since Harrier has shown himself to be a 100% jerk (insert a different word for you swearers in the audience, I'm trying to cutback) and that he is 100% unable to be unbiased in his opinions...maybe we should no include him in season 2... or at minimum not have him be the commissioner regardless of whether he will not be in it or not...I mean, he's condoning cheating just to slight my player of an award he earned THE ENTIRE SEASON that had nothing to do with the player I mistakenly used...is that the kind of person you all want as your commissioner for the second time around of this?after all his complaining (again, insert different word) about me cheating, when I didn't cheat because I didn't do it knowing I was breaking a rule, he says that it is OK that Nipsey cheated....that is hypocritical and biased and is not something that someone who wants to be in charge should do...

after all his complaining (again, insert different word) about me cheating, when I didn't cheat because I didn't do it knowing I was breaking a rule, he says that it is OK that Nipsey cheated....

that is hypocritical and biased and is not something that someone who wants to be in charge should do...

I think there is more... and Nipsey even agreed to use a 4-man rotation for the rest of the season at some point after that...I just got sick of looking and didn't feel like re-reading through the WHOLE thread...

 
All kidding aside...it's illegal to bring a pitcher back on short rest for a big game?  I'm getting hammered on his stamina when I do that.  Can we not do that, even though it's a huge risk?  I missed the rule on that.

Sorry Larry, no there wasn't any more. Nipsey did move back to the 4 man rotation after that and started Cy a few extra times at the end of the year to see if he could get him the Cy Young. What was done that was cheating? :shrug: .Honestly, it wouldn't have been close if you didn't have an illegal Quantrill helping Matthewsen to that ridiculous start. Eck and Fingers blew no less than 6 games for Cy. You're really exposing your cheating more by whining about someone who did nothing illegal. You should be ashamed and good luck in your next sim league, where ever that may be and whoever that may be with.

only Cy Young started the game on 4/5 PM2, played 2 innings in relief on 4/6AM game, and then started the 4/6 PM2 game, also...

FOUL!!!

MATHEWSON GOT ROBBED!! HE WAS THE BEST PITCHER THE WHOLE YEAR, #1 IN CY YOUNG STANDINGS THE WHOLE SEASON!!!!

and now he loses the award because Nipsey starts his pitcher too much???

I completely agree. As I said before if Larry_boy's team was losing, no one would have said a word about his cheating with Paul Quantrill.What I find funny is that there apparently is so much value to be found in a player winning an award. So what! It's not like you had anything to do with his great performance. Are we to think a pitcher would perform far differently if say UCONN drafted him in lieu of Larry_boy? Outside of wins and saves a pitcher should perform the same no matter what team their on. They shouldn't strike out more or less. They shouldn't walk more or less. They shouldn't give up more or less hits or runs..... hmmmm.... well fielding would cause a difference there..... Come to think of it how in the world did Larry_boy's team only commit 69 errors all year?!?!?!? Larry drafted one of the worst fielding first baseman of all time, played him there for 161 games, and he committed only ONE error. Let me repeat that: Frank Thomas committed only ONE ERROR in 161 games played at first base in the WIS sim. Frank Thomas averaged one error for every 12 games played at first in his career. I'm sorry but no pitcher deserves an award for pitching when their stats reflect a completely unrealistic representation of a players fielding ability.

Sorry guys, but the Cy Young Award in the sim is moot.

 
If the sim had a "career mode" where they could somehow use a player's career numbers, then I'd be with you. But they don't. The sim can only use a single season of a player. So why try to fight that? Why not just go with it? And if you want to draft a player based on how great his career was, don't expect to win a simulated league based on a single season of that player. It's that simple. If winning the sim is meaningless anyway, then what's the problem?

About 367 pages ago, somebody proposed the idea of not disclosing what year we use for the sim until the drafting is over. Come up with some third-party way to determine it (dice roll I imagine)..I sort of like that idea myself.

35-36.....I'm 36 now. Chasing a baby around the house later this year will keep me young. Or kill me.
