Still though...wasn't Obama in high school when the iraq war started? Lol.Seriously, most people you ask what has Obama done that he deserves to be President can't name a single thing outside maybe opposing the Iraq war. That's not good enough.
So don't vote for him.
I don't intend to. I'm voting for McCain..the next commander-in-chief.
I'll take that bet.

I understand being upset over getting stiffed on a bet, and yeah, it's weak as hell for him to disappear like this, but if you guys start effing with him IRL then the "total POS" label shifts from him over to you. Get a grip, none of you are owed more than $700.
Guys, this is right.  It's actually disturbing that so many are keen to ruin a person's well-being/state of mind.  What I gathered from his self- pontificating & arrogant posts made me not too keen on the fellah either, but it's just that; another's opinion.  I hope/think if we can take anything from this election, it is that it is imperative more so NOW to be excellent to one another, than ever before.  I'm straying outside of my lane here, & don't mean to antagonize, but...

*editor's note: should have had @Ramsay Hunt Experience proofread first...

*... and... I used to be a "bookie" too, so...there's that.

let's be clear here, no one is talking about ruining the guy's well being.  but those of us who are owed still have some avenues we can explore, and we intend to do so.

this guy screwed people over and was just a nasty human overall, and somehow in your warped mind he is the victim here?

If you can't take $2000 from an/some account WITHOUT your wife finding out you have not planned well enough.   IMHO

I think he's just saying it's a waste of energy and integrity to put the guys personal life on blast because he's an idiot.

He definitely isn't coming back now

You can't sit here for months talking ####, egging people on and telling them to put their money where their mouth is, and when they do you back out like a world class pu###.  He deserves every single piece of this.  And there are more of you (like you) that deserve it too but most Trump supporters have shown remarkable restraint.
Hey, if you want to give me or anyone else grief on here that's great. As I said in the Trump thread, I was wrong, and will eat whatever crow people want to serve up. I hope this ends well for the country, and that no one will be here in a few years saying "I told you so," even though I have my doubts.

And if the people that this guy owes want to try to contact him to get their money, great, have at it. But... we all know that that isn't how things work around here and online in general. Someone is going to post the guys B & M name publicly, and things will spiral from there. We've had people calling other people's work places and family over FF money here before -- and that is waaaaaaaay over the line.

BTW, I've been ripped off by a guy in a FF league for a comparable amount, and I was pissed off about it. I get it. But I'm not a fan of the lynch mob of random anonymous online screen names. Most of the people going the hardest here aren't even the ones owed money, and IMO it's time to pump the brakes and let the actual people involved in the bet handle this as they see fit. Take it how ever you want.

If I were CSTU and were debating on what to do, reading some of this stuff may sway me to bail -  Searching him out external to the board, calling him a coward etc.

He may have decided to bail anyways Tuesday night.  However, if he was/is considering his options, a simple PM with a "take your time" or similar may increase your odds of getting paid.

More flies with honey , and all that.
Not been my experience when it comes to collecting cash for my business.  Unfortunately when it comes to collecting potential bad debts, you have to do a lot of things you'd rather not have to.

I'm not disputing his demeanor at all, nor am I calling him a victim, & I understand your perspective.  You are also correct in your assertion that my mind is indeed warped.

Yep.  Trying to get money you are owed is pretty much what I'd expect anyone to do.
Agreed, but posting his personal info here for folks that aren't involved can get funky. The guys he owes money to, go find him. I think history here has shown that publicy throwing this stuff out there attracts another kind of idiot.

Hey, gb...it all comes down to this...late at night, when I'm drinking non-FBG- quality beer, will Trump still allow me to piss off of my back deck?

Yes, but why would anyone he owes money to worry about that or affecting him in another way?  When it comes to money, if you want to get paid when someone's initial intent is to not pay, you have to crank up the heat to change their motivation to needing to pay to avoid work/personal issues.  I know whenever we have issues with people owing we bring any pressure to bear on them we can.  If that makes me hard or unfeeling I guess I can live with that as long as I get paid.  I've tracked people to their work and sent a deputy sheriff there to take statements, etc.  When it becomes clear to you that someone's intent is to not pay you a debt they owe, you simply aren't going to change that intent by sitting back.

perfect, we need minds like yours in the Horror movie thread.

You one of the people he owes?

You one of the people he owes?
No, I'm just in a business where unfortunately we have people who owe us or try to commit financial fraud against us without intention of paying.  So I have a little experience in collecting and the mentality of people who try and skip out on debts.

Still missing in action, longest hiatus he has had since my history will show, probably just a coincidence it coincides with him owing $2100 dollars.

The guys not involved care. If @Fox Scream owed me money I'd be very greatful for everyone that gave him a hard time. I wasn't involved in this one, but I was invovled in the NCAA pools where guys welched and this makes me angry just like those guys did.

Just kidding, Em.  :hifive:

Let's all be better humans, overall...can we agree on that, gb?
So if CSTU came into your house and took 2000 dollars worth of stuff you wouldn't report it to the police because you wouldnt want to hurt his state of mind?

Kind of a strange point.  You are not owed money either, but yet here you are weighing in.
Strange? I'm just saying leave the guy's personal info out of here where random people who have nothing to do with it can get dumb. . I've seen how this kind of stuff has played out here before and it can get ugly

Those are legitimate concerns and good points.  But this is a public message board and everyone can weigh in.

If the guy would grow a pair and show his face, apologize, and work with the people he does owe to figure out the bet it would buy a lot of goodwill.  But when you act like an ##### for weeks and weeks, have historical posts here of him outing other people for stealing money, etc... and then run away after losing a bet then he kind of gets what he deserves.

I'm not saying his work should be called or anything else because he doesn't owe me money.  But if he doesn't want that to occur, then again man up and come apologize.  He created his own mess here.

Those are legitimate concerns and good points.  But this is a public message board and everyone can weigh in.
What the hell are you talking about? I said I'd rather not see his personal info posted on a public message board, not that people couldn't post their opinions.

Uhm, what was the bet?  Was the bet Trump would win the Presidency?  Was it Trump takes office by a certain date?  Are there any "you didn't read the fine print" scenarios happening?  Is CSTU going to show up and claim some sort of shenanigans?

Not defending cstu.. but when making political bets via semi anonymous fantasy football message boards, the real possibility of not "collecting" should have been considered beforehand.

Betting on message boards is not analogous to real world business and credit collection.
