I think he said it would only take a year.   I had a PM RE convo with him in 2015.   And i deleted it. His wife was an agent back then.

Welching on a bet is something I have no patience for.

Hypothetically, everyone who wagered with him took hedges elsewhere at -300, now you've got 4 people out $1200 on his bull####, these people should just eat $1200 bc he's a scumbag. If I took that bet with someone else, I wouldn't say "I can't pay bc some loudmouth deadbeat hasn't paid me yet," I'd take my loss and move on.

Looking on his history, if anyone deserves it, it's this guy.

Such a ##### he won't even come in here and take his lumps. I don't care if he's embarrassed or ashamed for being exposed, that isn't our fault. 

The $700 won't change of our lives at all one way or another, but I'd obviously be happier with it, being that it is mine.

If ####face won't at the minimum come post some sort of response (and I think we all know he's reading along), then he deserves what he gets IMO.

Look, I think just about everyone here has shown we aren't letting him slide on this but I'd never be in the situation you are in because I'd never wager with someone online I don't know.  So, I can't answer your questions.  I'm just suggesting I wouldn't mess with the guys wife or home life - you want to cause the guy to get a divorce because he didn't pay you $700 from an online bet?  Do whatever you want, I just wouldn't want to be that guy.  Have at it here all you want.

Pretty sure year one is like being an apprentice in the Appraisal world and then you can go on your own.  There's a post in here where he's quoted as saying he could make $500k when he had his own office and hired appraisers.   Oh, and that $25k to 100K thing happens in many areas of RE.  Takes a year or two to build things up.

The jokes are fine along with the shaming here.  As others have said, he's not coming back.  He's not going to pay.   You aren't out anything as if you had sent him money.  How much you want to pursue it off the site here is up to you, but I completely agree with above that there's just certain lines that aren't worth crossing.  His online persona here shouldn't change those basic thoughts about how to treat someone else.

IDK, his wife seems to be doing pretty well, she's got a pending sale of $625k right now and just let one rip for $1.615M.

I'm gonna go enjoy my Sunday, but this guy is a huge POS and should be treated as one.

i share similar sentiments as FC42.. not sure yet whether or not I advocate revealing full personal info here, but I know for certain I'm not finished pursuing him outside of this board.

if we let the guy get away with it after a week, maybe he keeps doing it to other people.  maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but he needs to at least sweat a little.

Seriously.  As I posted earlier, let it go.  He brought it upon himself but being internet gangster to ruin his life over a minuscule amount of money, that you aren't truly out, is stupid.  As someone that used to collect money from gamblers, I'm guessing all of you tough guys wouldn't have the balls to do it man to man like I used to.  This guy getting a divorce or worse isn't worth it.  Leave him alone.

Most others I wouldn't consider it, but this guy is such a dirtbag.

 
fc42/hucks (?) is serious business and obviously has a dark side.  it takes this thread from funny to weird in a negative way.

can you guys really not imagine somewhere in the middle between leaving him alone forever and ruining his life?  why does it always have to be binary?

I'm pretty sure this thread has already been that somewhere in the middle as it's clearly neither of the above.  Posting about commissions his wife just made is teetering awfully close to your binary edges.  

But both of you tough guys have at it over your losses. This thread has taken a very disappointing turn. I'm out.

For me, a guy who doesn't have skin in the game, I think that the guys in this thread have to push a little harder than expected to make sure the integrity of the forum and bets that are placed on it remains sacrosanct.
It's obvious that the only reason the bet was made was because it was thought Hillary couldn't lose. There needs to be some cautionary tale for the next guy who thinks that a bet is a 100% lock and doesn't have the ability to pay on the back end.

Was it ever funny that a grown man made bets with people and now refuses to pay after he lost?

There are a lot of things you can legally do to get your money from someone that doesn't include the hysterical examples you listed.

Letting people screw you over doesn't make you a big person, it makes you a sucker.

The anger and self-righteousness of the welched is getting to be almost as high on the ##### scale as the welcher.  FC42 brags about his expensive dinners and watches and yet he's spending hours of his precious time hunting for personal info on CSTU for a mere couple hundred bucks?
