*** OFFICIAL *** FFA WAGERING THREAD - Merry Christmas!!! (11 Viewers)

Interesting.  Wouldn't that mean taking the Panthers and fading the Saints though, as part of fading the top 5?
I think the panthers might have been the bet to fade. Where can you see the %s I've never even looked at that contest before. westgate super contest, right?

This is the last game that will be held at Wembley. The next three international games will be held at Twickenham 2x and Estadio Azteca. Giants/Rams played at Twickenham last season to a 17-10 Giants win. That's a rugby venue. Seems low scoring compared to the games played at the Wimbley soccer stadium. Texans/Raiders went over the total at the Azteca Stadium last season. It's a soccer stadium too.

NFL thinks grass at England’s rugby stadium is more suited for football
October 19, 2016
NFL officials say they have no problem with the playing surface at London's Wembley Stadium, but they think this week's grass at Twickenham is better suited for football anyway. According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, NFL vice president of international Mark Waller said that because rugby's a more similar game to American football, that the surface at this week's venue could be better suited for the Rams and Giants than previous games in England. The 82,000-seat Twickenham is the home of England's national rugby team.
"Twickenham is a really good grass field for rugby, and I stress the rugby point because one of the things at Wembley you see is like all soccer stadiums, the field is prepared for a much different game," Waller said. "You're looking for slick movement in soccer. Rugby is much more similar to our NFL game because there's a lot of traction, a lot of grit required in the feet. So I think we'll find it will play a lot more like a football field than a soccer field. I don't anticipate any issues with the field at all."

CL tomorrow

You will hardly see Bayern +241 this much of a dog. I have to jump on it. The smart bet is to take them getting 1/2 goal for -130 but I'm an idiot. There is a little trouble in the Neymar paradise and perhaps BM can get and stay ahead in France.

Also like Benfica +118 a good deal on the road in Switzerland.  Basel is in 4th place in their league and while benfica is in 3rd they will probably win their league and they typically advance in CL group stage. 1pt may not be enough as they are looking at back to back games with ManU. They need 3pta here and are the better team.
I wussed out with Bayern and took the draw no bet at +160.

You follow the MAC a lot closer than I do with all the Phil Steele magazines and stuff, so tell me what you think of those MAC dogs if you can.

Taking the dog in the MAC home opener has not been good - basically ever - but I don't think that any of the MAC teams can hold a candle to the SOS these two have faced non-conference so far. Buffalo just lost their QB last week. Plus this is the Bowling Green head coach's second year in command. The Akron coach, Bowden, hasn't done jack versus the MAC when he's not the big favorite, either.

Luis Ortiz (see avatar) +185.

Kind of like with the Parker fight, these two dudes are in the beauty pageant to land an Anthony Joshua fight, which means a sold-out soccer stadium, several millions of dollars, and probably getting knocked on your ### in front of drunk, screaming limeys.

Deontay Wilder, his opponent, has been incredibly well-protected/guided. He appears to be able to hit hard, but he has #### fundamentals, minimal defensive ability, and what appears to be a weak chin. He's also definitely had at least one opponent just straight up dive for him, probably more. Which is why this fight is confusing, because Ortiz is the goods, could legit threaten to take his belt away, and then end up in line for Joshua.

Ortiz is no Adonis, and his gas tank might be a question, but he can hit hard and he has very good hands for a heavyweight. It's hard to see him trading with Wilder and not getting the best of nearly every exchange. He's either been sandbagging a bit the last couple fights, has been utterly disinterested in crap opposition, or his age (unknown!) is catching up with him.

This doesn't make much sense, unless Wilder's people are just wildly under-estimating Ortiz. He's a lot of risk and relatively minimal reward, which is a big step-up for a guy who's up to almost 40 pro fights and has beaten almost exclusively bums. So, something might be up here, but at this price there's no way you can't take a swing. If this was completely on the up-and-up, it's better value than Mayweather was.

Outstanding boxing bets:

Avalos +3500

Yildrim +500

Soccer sucks!

Presidents Cup Pairings for Thursday

Thursday’s opening foursomes session (alternate shot).

TV schedule (ET)

1-6 p.m. (Golf Channel)

Tee times, pairings (ET)

1:05 p.m. Rickie Fowler/Justin Thomas (USA) vs. Charl Schwartzel/Hideki Matsuyama
1:17 p.m. Dustin Johnson/Matt Kuchar (USA) vs. Adam Scott/Jhonattan Vegas
1:29 p.m. Jordan Spieth/Patrick Reed (USA) vs. Si Woo Kim/Emiliano Grillo
1:41 p.m. Brooks Koepka/Daniel Berger (USA) vs. Branden Grace/Louis Oosthuizen
1:53 p.m. Kevin Kisner/Phil Mickelson (USA) vs. Marc Leishman/Jason Day

In 2016 Ryder cup Spieth and Reed played together in Foursomes format and they beat Pieters/Westwood handily and tied Garcia/Cabrera-Bella.

Ditto with Johnson/Kuchar who beat Rose/Stenson .

MIckelson was matched with Fowler and they went 1-1.

Leishman/Day might be the only matchup where the Internationals have a clear advantage. Kopeka/Berger vs Grace/Oosty mught be toss-up.

I'm just happy to see upstanding schools like Duke, UNC and Kentucky are not paying players.

What a joke.
I heard somewhere that tomorrow is going to be worse.  I don't think it's over.  Just wonder how deep my currently mediocre FSU team is in this.  We got decent players at hoops last few years.  If we get caught paying football players too?  Have to imagine it's happening....this is gonna suck as a college fan.

Bankroll management...

My mlb props are closing out. Made 10 plays. 6 are final i went 4-2 so far and won 240 and lost 240.

The 2 losses are over a unit and the 4 wins are less than unit bets. Worst part is I can't even say I like the unit plays much more than the smaller bets. I just arbitrarily throw some amounts without much thought.

Not sure what imntrying to say but for me as someone who is casual, I have to try to keep my bets consistent. Especially when I never go 2-5 and end up +.

My final 4 have a shot to go 4-0 so I have that going for me.

Sometimes I feel bankroll management is more important over picking actual winners

cowboys mnf hangover

Rams three extra days to prepare after Thursday. Cowboys one less day to prepare after playing on Monday. This is the best number you get against the spread in the NFL until it gets to +10. Jason Garrett and the Cowboys have never won the subsequent game after playing Monday Night Football (0-6 SU and 1-5 ATS) and the Cowboys have gone 0-8 SU and 1-7 ATS overall in that spot since 2009.

Rams +8½ -110 3u
Amazing bet.  I couldn't get it anywhere.  Now +6.

Red star Brigade +373 vs Koln

Kolne has 1 draw 5 losses and 1 measly goal.

Brigade is atop their Croatian league with 9 wins 1 draw and allowing 1 measly goal. They are on the road and the + half goal is safer but eh...

Tailing the first 2. Koln is in a much better league but plays the most infuriating style. Staying away but lean to the under. That could be whoever scores first. A goal for Commie Brigade in the 42nd minute  could be an insurmountable lead.

Did they expand Europa?  I'm used to some of these far flung Eastern Euro teams, but I'm seeing some I never heard of.

Oh and stay far, far away from the Arsenal match. They played Monday, going to Belarus today and play Sunday morning.

They're leaving half of their starters at home. The team they're playing is having a down year.

This has "play like crap for 60 minutes, pull a super sub off the bench, and eke out a draw on the road" written all over it.

I was looking at how Mike McCarthy performed against the spread at home versus the division. It turned out to be pretty good. But I also found this about the Texans: Since 2005 Texans 24-12-1 (.667) O/U home v division (1st NFL). The average line to beat was 44.

British Masters

Round 1 Matchups

Fitzpatrick +127 over McIlroy- Winner

Ilonen +106 over Sterne- Winner

Lewis -111 over Korhonen- Loss
2-1    +1.22u

and

Mikko Ilonen +9442 (1st round +7500) in the clubhouse in a 4-way tie for 1st so it'd only be +1875 if nobody else gets to -6.  Its going to be a challenge to score this afternoon.
