1) No and many people are upset. Seems like something that will be fixed eventually. 2) Not officially. Flash support was discontinued in Android 4.1. You can still use flash by getting the apk and an older version of Dolphin browser. Unfortunately, Prime videos can only be watched on the Kindle Fire.Sounds like the Kindle Fire might have been a better fit for your needs..EDIT - I see Jaysus disagrees on #1. Might depend on the magazine?

Or an iPad. Maybe amazon will make an app for the regular android software in a year or two of course.

You can watch Amazon Prime videos on the Nexus, but you have to install Flash manually. It's also not a superb experience like watching Youtube or Google Play Movies because you can't make it fit on the screen right. It's watchable though.

Ok - I must be a dummy. My phone - I connect USB and drag and drop anything I want.

N7 tablet everything says unsupported format and to skip it. I know things on my tablet can play it.

Do I have to rename all these things to an mp3 just to cpy over? I have an apk I want to install also.

I have not plugged my tablet into the PC yet... I just use Google Drive for stuff like that.

Yeah I think I found out it has to do with windows media player 10. Can't upgrade that here at work. Oh well will need to wait to get home. What file manager is everyone using File Manager HD

so where does the file go when it's available offline? If I make it available offline can I delete it in drive?

Sorry for the newb talk :bag:

huh, good question. It looks like it gets buried in Android/Data/Google Docs/Files.I failed to mention that I actually use the free version of FolderSync to push Drive files where I want them .

Ok. I found it. It fails when trying to parse :kicksrock: Was trying to install the Amazon Instant Video app - works great on my phone.....Still plodding along, tough with no internet connection here and using my phone as a hot spot. I moved the file but after you do delete the file it's not available in the drive offline but I found it on my phone after I moved it ;) Thanks for the tip

Just click that you don't want to skip it; you want to copy it anyway.

That was the rub - there was no option to do that ;) I traced it back to a WMP10 issue. I'm sure I'll have none of these issues at home

That's weird. I get the same error message when I want to copy over .avi files, for example. It tells me that the file format is unsupported by the device, but then it gives me two buttons I can click: one for skipping, and one for copying anyway.

Right - I bet you have WMP 11 or higher. I get Skip, Skip All, Cancel :kicksrock: Hence my frustration. I wish I could upgrade here to check but oh well, I found a way around it.

Amaozn Prime player installed success - can't see if it really works until I get home :kicksrock:
I'll be shocked if it works. It won't work on my rooted Kindle Fire regardless of what ROM I'm running. You can get it to load and view content but it won't play.
works on my razr maxx - but yeah I'm not anticiapting anything exciting
I'm guessing it was pre-installed on the Razr (Verizon partnership likely), which would mean it won't just work on another device.

Nope. I side loaded the ATVAndroidClient.apk on my phone. I then have to reboot, log into my amazon mp3 account, then sqitch over to the video account. Takes some fiddling but now works great. But who wants to watch video on a phone :P

If you can get this to work on your 7, it will be awesome.

If that's the reason, it would be sort of weird. I never use WMP for anything. I don't know why the operating system would care about WMP when it comes to just doing a file transfer that doesn't involve WMP. But with Microsoft, you never know, I guess . . .

I could be wrong but the the MTP protocol is being used which is built into windows. SO either I'm missing a windows component or the media player is nto fully up to date which has some driver in it. It's a work computer so I have limted crap I can do to it ...
Media Transfer Protocol (commonly referred to as MTP) is part of the "Windows Media" framework and thus closely related to Windows Media Player. Versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system from Windows XP SP2 support MTP. Windows XP requires Windows Media Player 10 or higher

No luck...

Side question... anyway to change the background on this forum. Too much white in mobile format

You guys regret making me get on of these yet? :P

Now that I have most of the general stuff figured out here is what I'm trying to do but can't seem to figure out and it's a bit embarrassing.

Here is what I have done - I used AirDroid app to transfer files from my pc to my nexus but that requires me to actually open my home pc browser. Really good app but this is what I'm trying to do.

I set up a share folder on my office pc to share with Everyone, with files I like to move back and forth. My other laptops can see this folder just fine.

I've tried using ES File Manager and HD File Manager. Each has a LAN setting.

So I scan my network and find my PC-IP. It won't let me log in anonymously. I found the password for my home group (windows 7) and tried that and that did not work. I tried typing in the ip/folder directly, computername/folder directly and still no luck. My laptop , xbox etc can see this shared folder but the nexus won't connect.

I should know how to do this :bag: Any help please, what possibly could be my username, domain? which I'm pretty sure I don't need. I thought the password would be that stupid homegroup password.

Help!!! TIA :bag: :nerd:

I basically want to sit upstairs without having to go to the basement to move files.

See if the Airdroid app will do what you want it to do.
Sorry had a brain cramp - I tried airdroid not airplay. I tried that. Works great but I have to actually go to the pc to "log in" with the code the app generates, once I'm in I'm fine. Messing around I turned off password requirements on my office pc and i was able to connect but I wasn't sure if that was ok to do. As soon as I turn it back on - no matter what I type I can't get in
