Who wants to spend all that time and effort building a pipe bomb that may or may not work when all you have to do is have the impulse, jump in the car and go shoot 20 kindergarteners.
The convenience and lack of barriers between impulse and execution is a huge part of the issue. Not to mention, the framers didn't have repeating guns when they drafted the Second Amendment. They also had a much more unstable sociopolitical environment.

So we have this: He made a pipebomb. You didn't know how. It sounds like neither of you proved anything.That still doesn't refute my original claim that on the whole, it is easier to obtain and fire a gun than build a pipe bomb nor does it refute the immediacy of things. We don't know how this went down but some gun crimes seem to be spur of the moment and even massacres like this seem to be that people snap. Guns don't really give you a chance to sit back and think. Building a pipe bomb, you have to go through all the steps which would be a deterrent in itself. Sure it wouldn't stop people like Columbine who planned for it, but it would stop other senseless crimes which happen at a moment's notice.Let's keep talking about the how and not the why. You could just as easily throw a homemade pipe bomb into a classroom.

Yeah, it's funny when some people are tied up, raped and killed by armed assailants. No, having a gun wouldn't have helped. I agree with assault bans and strict gun control but there is no reason why a responsible home owner shouldn't be allowed to own a gun to protect himself from some of these animals. btw..I don't own one.

I think the comments that were made today in that other thread bordered on horrifying. I didn't post a single thing about gun control over there. I keep hearing the same arguments over and over again...Well it wasn't the guns that killed those kids, responsible people are ok with guns, USA! USA! USA! love it or leave it!, people should be allowed to shot people who would harm them or their family, responsible people who hunt and want to target practice or a hobby.
We are never going to have any real reform. I am starting to agree with Otis. No intelligent person needs a gun.
