Good god, why the hell won't he get rid of Zack?
:goodposting: in previous seasons he would have been an automatic boot when he sabotaged the other cook.

Just goes to show this stopped being about finding the best chef and has just become another drama show.. My wife is still hooked on it, so I watch with her, but mostly am on my Kindle playing games, reading, etc and just glancing at the screen from time to time now.

Too bad, as the first couple seasons when they truly seemed to be looking for a head chef were the best. :kicksrock:

To be fair, there doesn't seem to be anyone in this group that I would trust to be the head chef at a top shelf restaurant in Vegas. I imagine Ramsey feels the same way. It's just a tv show and the more drama, the better.

that's my point.. They brought in a bunch of drama queens and maybe two legit chefs.. Maybe after reading up on previous winners and finding out that most are not "Top" Chef's at the restaurants they are having a hard time getting good chefs any more

Agreed. There are numerous chefs there that just can't lead. They clam up when the sh#t hits the fan (Ray, Nedra, etc). And that whole sabotage thing ... Ramsey should have kicked him out on the spot.

Jon is the only one that I can see running this. Good chef and has command of the kitchen.

Funny thing I've noticed is that Ramsey expects the kitchens to time themselves. I worked in the industry for many years and one guy ran the kitchen like Ramsey but would call out the whole order as "set" and when he wanted you to start a dish it was "go on the steak well or spaghetti or whatever" and everything should come up together.

Anybody notice the cooks using dried pasta on the episode last week? I was shocked Ramsey allows that. Like seriously shocked. Especially after watching Kitchen Nightmares where he yells at owners for using frozen Raviolis.

Frozen raviolis are different. Pasta is just pasta, but pre-made raviolis has everything inside of them too that is crap.

Agreed about the raviolis, but the difference between fresh and dried pasta is startling.

Seriously, how bad was Anthony if Gordon had to come in and cook Zach's station for him, yet Zach still stayed over him?

at this point Ramsey is just keeping those he thinks make for good tv. No way does he think Zach is a head chef, but he brings drama. Masterchef is 20 times better then hell's kitchen .

My wife and I talked about this last night, that it's not so much finding good cooks as it is making sure you have good ratings. After the first, say, 5 seasons, the quality really headed downhill. But I never much cared for Anthony anyway. My wife made the prediction last night that she thinks Jon and Ja'nel will be in the finals.

Because this is not a show about cooking! Anthony is just a stick in the mud in the background. How can anyone even pretend he could be a faux leader of a kitchen? Zach on the other hand is full of bluster which at least maintains some appearances.

I agree with those predictions.

Nona cleaned up considerably well.

But she was totally trying to hook up with the black dude.
Cleaned up so well Ramsey gave her the triple "WOW WOW WOW".

She lost a lot of weight and looked good, but man she has some serious crazy in her eyes.

Don't stare at me Marry. Two tables 33 pause Mary quit staring at me! I was rolling on the floor dying had to rewind like 6 times.

she did lose a bunch of weight, but she looked "hard" - like tweaker hard.

:lmao:

My son and I had the same reaction, funniest sequence in last night's show. Loved Mary's "don't make eye contact" reminder to herself.

Nona doesn't look any better IMO. Speed freak with fried hair is not an improvement over being fat.

Ja'Nel is going to win. It's been obvious for almost the whole season. The best cook and the best personality for running a kitchen.

"It's like the bloody Shining"
:lmao: at that whole sequence.
Also loved Mary's disturbing glee when she got ahold of the cleaver and the ducks.

"Choppin' heads off here. Wheeeeeee!"

Still think Jon was the best
I feel the same way I almost turned the tv off when he didn't make the final 2.
I'm thinking that Ramsay had already made his decision to hire Ja'nel at that point, so it didn't really matter who was in the final two with her. Mary the underdog made for better television.
I will give Mary credit ... she came on strong at the end. She ran the pass very well when it was down to 4. But she was so bad early on, where as Jon and Janel weren't.

When he was knocked out, I just started skimming the rest of the episode. Watched the 2 hrs in like 15 minutes.

Seemed to me Mary actually did really well at the end in how she handled her team. Thought she had a real chance to win.

Sucked that she ended up with mostly the dregs of the original men's team as support, while Ja'Nel got a lot of all-stars from the girl's team to back her.

I haven't watched every season of the show, but I don't recall ever seeing a competitor kick a chef out during the final service. Has that happened before?

If not, it's about time someone finally did. Being saddled with so many incompetent dumba###s in your brigade is awful. I'm waiting for the day when a contestant puts his foot down and dismisses half the team right after the draft for being idiots.

She should have kicked him out before even getting in the kitchen. Was stupid to allow him on the team at all. I'm sure Ramsey would have been fine with it. Shouldn't have to deal with anyone that ######ed in the finals.

The guy totally baffled me. He definitely needed more camera time . Easily one of the most unique looking dudes I've ever seen.

Not really. As soon as he let Jon go I knew who was going to win so I just skipped to the end. At least with Jon I would have watched it.

Not sure what was stranger in that finale, Mary's husband or Susan dressing like a 55-year-old woman. She could be pretty hot but damn, ####ed up cloths, hair and jewelry selection. Lesbian???? I don't get that.

"Ja'Rule" was the safe pick, she doesn't make a lot of mistakes. I thought Cyndi and Jon was the final, I got both wrong and I'm usually always guessing the final two. Mary was a good story but either of those other two should have been in the finale.

Kind of a boring season, this show needs more Raj types. Nedra and Dan were hte only thing close this year.
