The creator is Tim Kring, who I think created Crossing Jordan or something. But not Cuse, Lindelhof, or J.J. Abrams who are the decision makers on Lost.I did notice Jeph Loeb's name on the staff. He's written on Lost and Smallville, but is also a fairly successful comic book writer (sucessful enough to have been given a run on Batman, apparently).I wasn't terribly impressed with the pilot. I thought tonight's episode was better, but we'll see.I saw it last night. I'm mildly intrigued. Someone told me it's written by the same folks who write Lost. If this turns into a Lost-fest.... I'm out.
I noticed his name tonight as well. Thought it was interesting to make a mental note of it. For introducting a story I think the pilot did a wonderful job... now... hopefully they can maintain it.I wonder if NBC at first dibs on this show or if other networks passed on it. Anyone know?I did notice Jeph Loeb's name on the staff. It looks like they are working closely with the SciFi channel on this. SciFi is showing reruns on Friday nights and I noticed there was some SciFi advertising on the show tonight.I wonder if NBC at first dibs on this show or if other networks passed on it. Anyone know?
I don't think that they are working together, but it is some sort of corporate synergy. Sci Fi aired Surface last year, and I think Heroes is probably being cross promoted as part of the same deal.As for tonight's ep, I was mostly thinking that this ep wasn't quite as strong as the first one, but the finale with Hiro blew that thought out of the water. Very nice ending.I'll watch it again, but I'm assuming everyone caught the painted symbol they flashed in Isaac's loft was repeated in the pool in L.A. and in the data flashing across the screen of Mohinder's computer. Was it anywhere else?Another note I will mention is I think the scoring for this show is outstanding. It adds a nice emotional tone to the show that isn't a Super Hero Action Theme.Story wise, Claire's is still hitting the right tone to me, and is the most complete. It even gives her a reason to turn Super Hero as she seemed very happy to hear she saved someone's life. Mohinder's also working well, if a little vague. The cop seems forced in right now, the brothers are still annoying, and the artist is way too stereotypical for psychics. Hiro is an unknown this week, as he got a lot of screentime, but it was all story based, not character intro. But it does give a good future motivation, which works.Based on the strength of these two eps, this will be one of only 2 shows I will definitely watch the night of regularly (Lost the other), rather than Tivoing 2 or 3 weeks for a marathon like I do on some others.Foosball God said:It looks like they are working closely with the SciFi channel on this. I have a feeling she is going to be on the fence on which way to go. The dual side of her pulling her to evil. Her son side pulling her towards doing good. This show has me hooked....Skippy the one eyed Beagle said:i was wondering the same thing.Foosball God said:I wonder how many people Niki has killed?![]()
Yeah, see Twilights post above.did anyone notice when the indian guy was looking at the program on the computer the numbers formed a pattern that was in the painting in the artist loft
Did you miss episode 1? Ali's "alter ego" did the killing and the bodies are the two tough guys that were sent after her to collect the money she owes.Never thought Ali Larter (still dont have the names down yet) killed those other people that were buried. There was 4 hours of her time we dont know about that she was in her car when she was picking up her kid but ended up in the airport. I would maybe picture her killing them even before the show started tracking these people. Brings to question... who are those bodies than? I would say the boys father is one, or the only one if there was only one there.
He's talking about the body that were already buried out in the desert.Did you miss episode 1? Exactly. Her alter ego takes over and does the killing / cleans up the bodies. Not sure why she didn't also bury them when she was in control but maybe it's her way of revelaing herself to Ali. Making sure Ali knows that they're in this together.Who is leaving the trail for the Niki to follow to bury the bodies? Is that her alter-ego? Is she just coming upon the path she created when she was blacked out? Also where's the convertible from? The loansharks?I love the show so far. My only complaints are the poor acting/dialogue for Niki's kid and the younger flying brother.
Ah, I see. Yeah those bodies were defintely killed long ago. The 4 hours of blackour were just her returning to clean up the bodies and steal/buy(?) the car. He's talking about the body that were already buried out in the desert.Did you miss episode 1? police officer - professor XI know a little about the X-Men comics and I believe this show, so far at least, is similar to them. With that said, can we get a character breakdown of who is who:Claire (Cheerleader) = Wolverine (healing powers)Hiro (Japanese) = ??Ali Larter (Net Whore) = Jean Grey (double persona)Fly-Boys (dudes) = Claire's father = Weapon X, government orgPainter = ??Any more?
Hiro warped 5 weeks into the future. The artist is still around, but will be killed (by Sylar?) on November 8 unless Hiro finds a way to stop it.I was hoping the artist would stay around for awhile but that does not seem to be the case unless there is some other alternate universe that he sees and that Hiro warps into.
When the artist was found dead, it was the day of the blast, November 8 (i.e., Hiro had traveled to the future). I suspect that the entire season will unfold in the month leading up to that day. If that's the case, you'll see the artist plenty.Edit: See DaVinci's post.I was hoping the artist would stay around for awhile but that does not seem to be the case unless there is some other alternate universe that he sees and that Hiro warps into.
Im aware it was the future. I wonder if at some point Hiro will warp into the past. And, it is not conclusive yet if he can teleport in the same time frame as he was missing for 5 weeks from Japan. The previews I saw after last nights show showed Hiro plenty for next week. Also, the graphic novels on the NBC page I will look at more closely now.I think the commercials need to be scaled down a lot in order to keep viewers.Edit - I loved seeing Hiro and the comic book. Everything he did was in the comic book. And, I love the fact he went looking for the artist too. Good point. I meant to go back and count how many breaks there were but I deleted it out of habit. It seemed there was a commercial every five f'n minutes.GB the DVR.Im aware it was the future. The father of Niki's boy (Noah) is in prison. From the NBC site:I would maybe picture her killing them even before the show started tracking these people. Brings to question... who are those bodies than? I would say the boys father is one, or the only one if there was only one there.
Ten-year-old Noah Gray-Cabey joins NBC's new ensemble drama series "Heroes" as Micah Sanders, a young genius whose mother is an online stripper and whose father is serving life in prison.
Okay, with that said, who is the body? I would doubt it is the guy she owes money to unless his henchmen do not see him... which would be odd. Or, the body was someone we have not been "introduced" to from her life yet. I guess I am leaning that way for now.Unless, she is Sylar. The father of Niki's boy (Noah) is in prison. I doubt she is Sylar since the voice we heard on the answering machine was a mans and the fact that sylar does not really seem to be in to hiding the bodies of the people he kills.Okay, with that said, who is the body? Without question this will be the last week I watch it live. I'll have to DVR it because it ruined the flow of the show for me.GB the DVR.Im aware it was the future. I dont think it is a showcase of her powers. I think it shows what she did though. Claire walked through fire without getting injured... I dont think she will be able to control fire or anything like that. That is what I get from the picture.
there's a post there that disputes this. something about their powers more being from an ability to use more than 10% of their brain power. the villain (syler?) has been stealing brains. if it was dna/rna based, he would only need their blood. In looking at the 9th wonder cover I noticed two things. 1. The publisher is helix comics2. The logo closely resembles a DNA strand missing one side.So I assume the people we are following in the series are genectically altered as part of an experiment. Didn't the phone message to the Dad say something about you made me?
I distinctly remember Niki telling her friend that her husband (ex?) wouldn't have come to help because the cops were looking for him.The father of Niki's boy (Noah) is in prison. An earlier post here mentions it was in the data feed, pool, etc. So where they able to use more than 10% of the brain? Also, just because syler is taking the brains doesn't mean it's related to the orginal outbreak of the mutations.I'll have to go read the other board to see what they have going.there's a post there that disputes this. something about their powers more being from an ability to use more than 10% of their brain power. the villain (syler?) has been stealing brains. if it was dna/rna based, he would only need their blood. In looking at the 9th wonder cover I noticed two things. 1. I think Claire might have the firepower already...Look at her hands. Also claire has bled when falling from the high catwalk and her ribs were poking out. But when she was in the fire, NOTHING. I think she has something to do with fire. The picture shows here in Psylocke-style pose with something near her hands. Maybe it's just me.I dont think it is a showcase of her powers. In order to have a fire person there needs to be an ice person... seeing that the one body was frozen solid gives credence to your theory. To me, the things by her hands are pom-poms because she is a cheerleader. To go on this point as well though... the artist paints the future but does not tell it. Sure, someone could read his paintings and conclude stuff is going to happen but lets look at Hiro for this example. The painter drew the comic book and Hiro... supposedly... transports 5 weeks in advance. The comic book was published the week or two BEFORE that happened. Hiro sees what has already happened. I think the same is with Claire... he saw her walk through fire and painted such... he was not saying she had the power of fire. Plus, she already has one power of healing... unless she knows more about her power then we are lead to believe... a maturation of powers of sorts.I think Claire might have the firepower already...Look at her hands. I wonder if she has a little Mr. Fantastic thing going on as well as healing. Two powers there I guess.BTW - When Claire was hit by that football player and her neck snapped around :X Not fun to look at.

The artist isn't dead yet - he's not scheduled to be killed until Nov. Obviously, if they can stop the nuke, they can stop the serial killer as well. For those wanting it... the torrent is up on isohunt for episode 2.

Hiro seems to be the most compelling right now. He is actually embracing his power but also has a heart about it. Not trying to abuse it but know more about it.
Claire is nearly the same as Hiro but going about it a different way as she has other obstacles in her way... youth, family, etc. It was also nice to see her inquire about the guy she saved in light of what did just happen to her with the other cheerleaders.

The Fly-boys dont seem like much is going on with them. Yippee, we can fly and run for office... WTF?
