***Official*** Heroes Thread (2 Viewers)

Meh, just more self doubt like his dream about him being the bomb. The comics so far had been pretty interesting, just little side stories that usually added a little bit of info. This one wasn't really interesting.
I dunno, I got the Skywalker in the Tree feeling off of that comic. He's so convinced that he's the hero and he's supposed to save the world, but now he's got the doubts that maybe he's not the hero and he's the cause of the explosion.

That point is emphasized in the comic - he dreams he's chasing an invulnerable flying guy, but he can't actually fly - only when he's near his brother and absorbs his power can he fly. I think the comic is to highlight the "is Peter a hero or is he a cause of destruction" storyline.

I also think the Haitian is not a power cancel guy, but some kind of super-powerful psychic - the analogy would be Charles Xavier from the X-Men. I'm sure he could put up a psychic "shield" to prevent others from getting into his mind or sensing that he is there - and he extended one to shield Claire and her father from mind readers.
In the bar scene with the Haitian and Matt, Matt lost the ability to read anyones thoughts, not just the Haitians. Not sure if the Haitian caused that, but if so that would lead us to believe that he can cancel powers, or at least mind powers.

Same concept - a shield around Matt to prevent him from using his mind powers.

Like others pointed out, it's under his control, and he can only affect mind powers.

No right or wrong answer there, me-thinks and it is not like Lost where they feel they need to explain everything. This is a comic book brought to life. In a comic book, you accept that the Haitian can mess with other people's mind powers - whether you call it "cancelling" or "shielding" is irrelevant.

On a side note, I think they do a piss-poor job of demonstrating Matt's power, unlike most of the others. They just do a bunch of cuts and show him concentrating and breathing out like a bass you just yanked out of the the water. They should simply adopt the Professor X method from the X-Men movies and quit with the distracting cuts and close ups on his face as he is turning around.

In this era of television this show is such a refreshing drama to have. With that said, no matter what the fanbase is it will probably be one two or three seasons only.

Ali Larter is playing a great character. Hayden's character seeking friends is a nice twist in this episode as well. Suresh is getting more screen time which is nice to see and the painter, Mr. Isaac, needs to stay.

Who the hell is Linderman?

Did everyone notice that when Ali Larter was pleading with the guard to let her hug her son and he went to stick her, she caught the stick and snapped it without channeling Jessica? I think this is suppose to show us that she is slowly learning to control her powers and that she may eventually be able to use her super strenght without having Jessica take over.

psyco chick is the one character i can't get into.
Oh, I coould. In a heartbeat :lmao: :goodposting:
:ditto:She might snap my junk like the nightstick, but she's worth the risk.Question: Is doing a chick with multiple personalities like doing more than one chick at the same time?It would probably be two very different 'styles' in bed to say the least...soft and sensual one minute, and rough and dirrrty the next...

That's not what I saw. They had already demonstrated earlier in the show during the interogation that Jessica is able to appear much more quickly and just for brief moments. Jessica appeared for the 3 seconds that it took to catch the baton and snap it, then you can see the look of astonishment and fear when Niki comes back and sees the broken baton in her hand. She realizes that Jessica protected her again but that it was only going to anger the guards more.

Actually Boone, that's the first thing I thought also. I'm not as quick to dismiss it as some others, especially since we don't really know what's going to happen. Some seem to be so sure though. :(

So when do we get to meet the anti-Christ....Lindermann?

This is starting to get annoying that everything points back to him, yet we haven't actually met him yet.

Also, its good to see things are catching up with HRG, he has been a little too smug in the early going.

Read SkyRattlers post. It is 100% right. For further proof just look at what happened at the end. Nikki is lying in the padded cell saying "God help me", then Jessica clearly answers saying "You dont need God when you have me".

I read the post and I watched the show. I'm still not ready to dismiss the possibility that Nikki will not be able to channel Jessica's "powers" and be able to "control" it to some extent. Maybe you're right, maybe I'm wrong - whatever - great show. I was just stating that Boone was not the only one to think as he did since the only replies to his post were basically "you're wrong". Who is to say for sure?

I just remembered something, the scene with Hiro and the dinosaur, he obviously did not have the sword (just the sheathe), but in the painting, wasn't the sword drawn? Was that an artistic inconsistency or is there a different future event involving Hiro and a Dinosaur?

I didn't think last night's episode was all that great. As usual Hiro stole the show though.

Ali Larter is playing her role very well, although I'm with some of the others in that I just can't get attached to her character yet.

I will try and add a gentler opinion. I think Shady is correct. Jessica was jumping in and out the whole time and Nikki seemed surprised about the night stick. I think I remember her getting that angry/smug look on her face that seems to go with Jessica taking over.By the way, I do think that physically Nikki may be able to do the same things, but she seems to have that Hulk thing going on (without the green part) where Jessica takes over when she starts getting her super human strength. I don't think we have seen anything where Nikki uses the power when Jessica is not present, at least not yet. Remember, she was telling DL that she wasn't even able to control Jessica anymore in normal situations, i.e. attorney interview, on the phone right before the night stick incident.

I think it was just Issac's interpretations of what he saw. He may have seen Hiro with the sword in hand and assumed he was holding the entire sword, not a fake in the sheath.

Am I the only one who called the phone number on the card HRGs gave to Suresh?

BTW, I assume invisible guy can turn off his power when he wants too, otherwise why would he be stealing money?
:lmao: I never thought about that. What use is money when you could take anything you want? He kind of looked almost like a homeless guy, which would explain his mannerisms more, i.e. being more of a petty thief. It also makes it seem more of a stretch that he would become Peter's mentor (from the preview).Although, based on his age, I wonder if invisible guy is one of the first gen heroes like Peter's father, but was able to harness his power. Maybe that is why Peter wants him to help him because he might actually know stuff about the origin of the powers. I guess I could see a guy who maybe cannot turn off his invisibility turning into a vagrant because he wouldn't have normal contact with anyone. I assume we will find out a lot more next week.

Just trying to protect anyone here, but I saw nothing on that site that had NBC on it. I just remember that if you checked out the Lost web sites, there was usually a Disney reference in the privacy policies. Can anyone check it out in the registries to see who owns the domain? It has been a while since I did that, so I don't know if there is a good place now.It may be kosher, but that is a lot of personal info. I think the most that any of the Lost sites asked for was an email address to get there little emails.

If you go through their privacy statements it ends up linking back to NBC.The website was shown on the show along with the phone number. It was intentional on NBC's part. Has to be.

Thanks. I didn't notice any of that. Just thought it was odd how much personal information it asked for, but then again it is NBC.Well, just let us know if you find anything cool out or if someone steals your identity. ;)

I just checked it and the painting definitely is not him holding the sheath, but I am pretty sure we have seen that the paintings are potential outcomes and may not be 100%. Based on the fact that they go out of their way to show Hiro holding up the sword next to the dinosaur, that painting is definitely of that scene, i.e. not a future time where Hiro actually goes back in time to the Jurassic age.Maybe it is possible that the original sword was there and that it was replaced more recently by Linderman? He is way to interconnected with all of the characters to not have any idea what is going on. We have no idea who he is, but there is no doubt now that he is a central figure and may have more to do with the bomb than Sylar does.Actually, I will just throw this out now, but I have a feeling Linderman is the guy or one of the guys controlling HRG.

GB NBC for putting the full episodes on their site. I'll never get to watch it "live" due to 24 but because of that I can catch-up Tuesday mornings.

At least we now know what the symbol means.. "Great Talent....God Send"

i think this is why Simone is taking the painting with them to show linderman
