I've also wondered that. But I don't think so. It will be something else. This might be the moment that we find out that Simone has superpowers, and that those will prevent her from dying.

From what Ive read Hulk I think you may have your facts wrong.I think someone important is supposed to die the march 5th episode. Could very well mean we dont actually see Simone die until this episode with different characters featured next week, or could be someone else that dies.From this episode they said two things:"Someone flies, someone dies" Peter and mechanic."A hero gets shot, and you'll never guess by who" Simone was shot, and the shooter was a suprise. Shot doesnt have to mean dead though. I assume that they would have worded it "a hero is killed, and you'll never guess by who" as that would have been more dramatic.Now Simone could very well be dead, but I dont think it is a safe assumption yet.

IIRC future Hiro came back and visited Peter on the subway and one of the first things he said was something to the effect of, "I almost didn't recognize you without your SCAR". Maybe a future event such as going nuclear or battling Sylar will leave him "scarred" and eliminate or change his powers.Also, I'm not going to go back through this entire thread but has anyone discussed why Peter was able to see future events even before he met the painter? I think he was having visions/dreams from the very beginning of the show. Does anyone know if this is an inherent ability or something 'sponged' from someone else?

How about this: Peter absorbs the radioactive powers; Sylar captures Peter and cuts him open to obtain his powers; Peter regenerates, as he does not lose his powers at his death; Sylar dies in his own radioactive blast; Peter is left with the scar Sylar carved across his forehead.

Doesn't explain how Peter avoids blowing up. And when I first thought of this, I imagined Peter would be left without any powers, but he would definitely need Claire's power in order to regenerate.

Brain injury affects the regeneration. When Claire was killed, it wasn't until the coroner removed the stick in her head that she started to regenerate.

I think he meant Eden.BTW what was the power Peter had last night with the voice pushing Isaac? Someone attributed it to Sylar, but I can't remember him ever using it. Also, I don't think Peter went bad. He never really did any harm to Isaac, I think he was just confronting him. Isaac was the one who went all killer.

Sylar used it when he threw Claire's mother into the wall. I think its just included for effect.

Her didn't use persuasion. He stopped her telekenetically (sp?)

Who said he used the power of persuasion? All I said was he used that "loud" voice when he threw Claire's mother into the wall.

Sorry - I misunderstood.I was responding to whoever said they thought Sylar absorbed persuasion - he didn't. The loud voice, IMO, is a manifestation of telekenesis.

When Peter arrives in Texas to save Claire the waitress is already dead. According to the graphic novel Sylar kills the waitress after he escapes and is shot by HRG and before he kills Zane (smelting guy). But the waitress is killed before the attack on Claire???

What am I missing here?

Flight does give him the upper hand at this point - but its not like he can sneak up on Sylar. I would be surprised if the flying wasnt equalized by the time they end up battling.

Yup.Also, if you recall, he apparently can use his telekinesis to do some sort of awesome jump (did it when he made blonde FBI chick put a gun to her own head... like a jedi force jump or something. The graphic novel also shows him doing this.

This got me thinking about the powers that Peter and Sylar could/do have. I think we can assume Peter doesnt have to see the power in "action" to get it since he regenerated without being near Claire while she was doing it. Any to add?

-super memory? was Charlie alive in that timeline when Peter was in the diner?

-any other power Sylar had in the first showdown Peter may have (freezing, super memory)

-assume Peter has a power from his father? The power that drove his father mad? Perhaps this is where the visions came from?

-slowing metabolism from cockroaches? Not sure if this is a power?

-He seems to have the power to move through shadows/darkness without being detected. not sure if this is just telekinisis/levitating or something else. When HRG came into the room to look at the dead body, Sylar was hidden in the shadows. This seems pretty unlikely in a small room with limited furniture so perhaps there is something to this.

-potentially other powers from his kills previous to the show.

Time to get into the Professor Xavier, X-men age.

Favorite comic book - by far - growing up. I think that's why I like this series so much. These folks are, essentially, mutants. I had every X-Men from 94 up and about half of the old X-men series, plus any and everything featuring Wolverine - his series' (all three of them), plus his appearances in The Hulk - I still have Hulk 181 (first full feature of Wolverine) sitting in my parent's house.Prof. X would be able to send out a shield to protect his X-men - or he could inhibit the other person's power (essentially putting a bubble around the other person's head). That's where I got the first post of mine - Eden's got some kinda mental ability and the HG is able to contain/cancel other people's mental abilities.Let's compromise - let's say the HG projected a shield around Eden blocking her power so she couldn't influence HRG anymore. Good?

Fine shield boy, we can compromise that we know that you are wrong. Works for me. Not sure what the rest of the discussion has been, so I will just ignore it. All I can figure out is that someone flew and someone dieoos, or something rhyming like that.

Hmmm, I had an alternative interpretation - that the key showed she let herself into the apt. after she tried to give the key back. Issac insisted she keep the key, she used it, and she got killed as a result of using it.

that's how I saw it, too. But, Scupper's interpretation is just as valid - esp., if, as is the case in so many comic books, she's not really dead or she comes back.

She made it sound like it was going to be more like a flashback type thing, than anything.
