Anyone notice at the beginning when they were going through the ending scenes from last week that they inserted dialog that wasn’t there where Nikki questioned why DL didn’t just let the bullet go through them? Writers trolling message boards and seeing people #####ing about that possibly?
Wasn't DL blocking the bullet from hitting Nikki? If that was the case, he wouldn't want the bullet to go through him.
Yeah but he is able to phase other people by touching them. He brought himself and Nikki through the walls to get into Linderman's office. If he phased both of them then Linderman wouldn't have been able to harm either one of them.
Makes sense and I didn't think about that. But it also shows how none of the new "Heroes" have mastered their powers. He reacted quickly and didn't think to use his power to save them.

While I agree with everyone regarding letting Sylar crawl (or get dragged) away, a nuclear bomb did just explode in the sky. So it is somewhat plausible for the Heroes attention to be diverted for a bit.

I have a few questions:

1. Why were the streets empty the entire episode? (Is this a comic book thing?)

2. What flashed in Sylar's eyes after he was stabbed and what is the significance?

3. People keep talking about Peter's dream and where he got the power, doesn't Suresh have this power?
1. Typically yes.2. I think he was seeing the future, Isaacs' powers.

3. I don't think it was Suresh, it was that little boy that was able to enter Suresh's dreams.
Are you talking about right before he said "It turns out your the villian Pete"? I thought the flash in his eyes was the reflection from Peter's glowing hands.
No, I think he meant while Sylar was laying on the ground about to "die". It was several rapid-fire images with the final image himself at that actual point in time bleeding to on the ground. Did not catch any of the other images.
Yeah, I was wondering if the images went past the point of the bomb going off, leading us to believe he is still alive.
OK, I'm re-watching tonight. I must have missed that part.

I originally thought it was the new future flashing in his eyes because of his death. Then I watched it in slow-mo and it looked like it was all the people he killed flashing before is eyes and then his own death. All the people flashing were screaming in terror and I think I saw his mom in there too.

I assumed that's what it was.

Just to save me from reading 4 pages regarding the finale last night...does anyone have an explanation as to why Peter didn't just fly away himself? They seem to have casually left out that ability for the last 5 episodes in the hopes that we'd forget that there's an easy solution to this problem.

Peter was losing control and couldn't handle Ted's power much less try to tackle Nathan. My question is, why didn't Nikki just knock his ### out? That's what the invisible guy did to stop him previously. Also, I think next season it will show Nathan will be around. My guess is that he flew up with Peter and left him in mid air right before he was going to explode.

I was fine with it. People's expectations are too high for anything good.

I just hope they don't follow through on any of this voting nonsense for next season. Just make the tough decisions yourself, that's why you make the big bucks.

I don't think she or anyone in her party had enough facts to ascertain what was actually happening, much less how to resolve it.

If Nathan survives it would have made the series ending even worse. They played it up in several episodes that claire was the only one that could survive being close to him with out being cooked.

Terrible end of the season in my opinion. If this is the standard we are looking forward to after a season then I'm thinking the series won't stay popular to long.

I enjoyed the finale. It didn't WOW me, but it was entertaining. I think in part, expectations get raised and the show can end anti-climatically. The major turn, of Nathan coming to save Peter at the end and turn from the dark path he was headed, was not a major shock. Yeh, the fight could have been orchestrated a bit better, but it did what it needed to do for the characters. Big move for Nikki to make a choice to help someone not in family and move from the dark. Lots of psychological stuff going on. I think we can get trained to lead up to the "big moment" when there is much more going on. I wonder how we would feel if watched the last 3 episodes straight. Would it feel as rushed? Oh, and please don't tell me that comic books always end with the great battle. Comics are limited and it is your imagination that ads to them. So who ever says comics always end with the grand, well done ending. This was not unlike endings you find in comic books, pure and simple.

People complaining about the ending must have great lives they are living. To nit pick about the finale is stupid plain and simple. Not all season finale's need that shocking, wow, cliffhanger. The "finale" leads into a new season rather nicely in my mind.

Think about future viewings on DVD. Will each season have or expect to have some major ending after the season? I dont think so the way they did this one. Much like what LOST did... when the season ending comes it is day X and when the new season comes around it is day X+1 or so. I think Heroes will follow the same example and when the new season starts instead of jumping a mysterious 3 months we will simply pick up on what happens later today, in Heroes time, or tomorrow... not 3 months later.

The confrontation between Peter and Sylar in the future episode was alot better than this one, and you barely saw it.

Can anyone explain why Claire wouldn't shoot Peter? She had already taken a 8 inch long shard of glass out of his head. Just plain silly.

Umm, she woke up on an autopsy table AFTER they used the rib spreader. She knows he absorbs people's powers. Yet she thinks bullets will kill him?

He absorbed the fire guy's power right in front of her. Her dad knows. Her dad was right there to tell her even if he hadn't told her before. Sorry, but no matter how you slice it, the logic in this finale was piss poor.

Ever think he can only use one power at a time? You are getting hyper sensitive about this finale, like others, which I find :lmao:

He was invisible when Sylar sent the glass shard into his head. Im not hyper sensitive, I just think it left alot to be desired.

maybe, but they definitely had it filmed before. Dialog probably got left on the cutting room floor for time constraints, but they snuck it in this week anyway.
Continuation - that was the start of this week's episode, additional dialogue and continuation of that scene. They've done it several (many?) times this year, and especially so the last few weeks.

And he didn't use his regeneration power until after the shard was removed - one power at a time is a plausible explanation.Gamblor - re: Nikki not using all her strength, against Sylar why WOULDN'T she? She tore those mobster guys in HALF for punching her in the face. She wouldn't see Sylar as more of a threat?

Umm, so after she shoots him and he dies, his nuke power turns off. Then you can pull out the bullet and he regenerates. Doesn't seem like a problem.

I agree - I think that was the concept with stopping him. When he gave her the gun, Peter said to Claire that if she saw him losing control she was to shoot him "back of the head - you know the spot"

Maybe they just weren't sure it would work, but without Nathan it was the best plan. When Nathan showed up maybe they felt like that method was more certain to prevent the city from being leveled?Edit cuz i is stoopid.

Yeah but are they actually picking up tommorrow in Heroes time. It was my understanding that there would be a whole new group of Heroes.

I am not a comic book fan and if these endings are typical I can see why.As for Hiro's training I think those arguing that he stopped time to train forget an important plot point. Ando got tired of waiting and left to take care of business himself. Why would he do that if time was frozen.
Nope, I think it was not Hiro but his father that essentially slowed time for the space that they were in. Almost like existing in a vacuum for a time.

Exactly. HTH is Nikki supposed to know that knocking him out will stop anything?

Ando didn't even want him to go in the back room with his father. Neither of them knew that his father was cool with the whole hero thing. Ando was scared for his own life because he thought he was going to die if Hiro didn't kill Sylar, so he took off.

The fist fight was rather lame. You need to kill the guy, yet you stand there giving him an old fashioned beat down with your fists instead of using your powers to give him a whooping?

:sarcasm:

The Nicki save was lame too and rather unnecessary. Sylar pulled the Vader choke on Peter once already, but Peter still stood there and let him do it again. As mentioned above with the Hiro charge, there is no way Sylar would let Nicki get that close to him.
I actually liked the Nikki save. I was expecting the good guys to all contribute, and that was the one instance where it came together. I don't count Hiro's strike, because it was so completely lame. But what I was most disappointed with was that Peter didn't use any of his powers in the battle.
I don't understand how someone with super strength (Nikki), punching you with all her might, doesn't rip your damn head off. Candace should be dead, and Sylar should have had a detached skull.
why do you assume she was punching with all her might? For someone that claims to be the comic book king, how many times have you seen the likes of superman, the thing, the hulk, Colossus, Popeye, Mighty Mouse etc knock someones head off with their super strength?
I'm pretty sure Parkman is still alive. He may die, but when they put him in the ambulance he was still alive. They had him hooked up to an IV with the bag in his lap. Agree with what was posted earlier that if he was dead, they would not be putting him in the ambulance.
To clarify, I think the person said they'd be zipping up a body bag or have a sheet over his face.Either way, they wouldn't be hooking him up to an IV and treating him that way if he was already dead. We will open next year with him recuperating in a hospital bed and he'll be back on his feet and in the action within two or three episodes - because all you need is a few days to recover from four gunshot wounds to the chest. ;)
He's a cop. I assume he was wearing a vest.
He was no longer a cop, he was bleeding from all four holes, and I am sure Stlar could have thrown the bullets with sufficient force to pierce any vest.PLEASE stop trying to make this anything more than a comic book. I can argue against comic book logic all day long.
 :lmao: :lmao: See above
Gamblor - re: Nikki not using all her strength, against Sylar why WOULDN'T she? She tore those mobster guys in HALF for punching her in the face. She wouldn't see Sylar as more of a threat?
She may have been punching with all her might - who knows? Sylar has proven to be no slouch. In comic books, the fight rarely ends with one punch - let alone ripping someone's head off with super strength. PLEASE stop trying to make this anything more than a comic book.

The whole "stop trying to make this anything more than a comic book" defense isn't a blanket exemption from writing a good script, directing an entertaining final fight scene, etc.

Comic book aspects aside, as a TV show, it was a disappointing finale to a show that many people enjoyed watching all season.

I watched every episode, thought some were far weaker than others and will watch again next season. But, you can call a spade a spade without also being an alarmist complainer that just wants to bash a show to prove how highly evolved they are.

Two things I didn't like:

Nathan flying Peter away instead of Claire shooting him.... because that didn't really stop the bomb from going off.... it just didn't destroy the city. Won't their be ramifications from a nuclear explosion over NY?

If the writers wanted Nathan to turn into a good guy, perhaps Clair should have shot Peter but for whatever reason the nuclear reaction didn't subside... then Nathan could have swooped in an flown him away.

The other thing I didn't like was that Sylar apparently survived. If they wanted him to survive Hiro shouldn't have gotten in such a devastating blow. Seems like Sylar doesn't need Clairs powers if he can survive that type of an attack.

Maybe these are nitpicking points, but they bothered me a little.

because that didn't really stop the bomb from going off....
I just thought of something else; since the bomb did still go off, could the "5 years in the future" episode still come true even though the city wasn't destroyed? I don't recall if they talked about the city being destroyed or just a bomb going off.

In the 5 Years episode the city was partially destroyed, with millions losing their lives. That was the catalyst to put Nathan in the presidency and thus allowing the Linderman group to gain control of all mutants.

Thanks.

Was anyone else surprised by Linderman dieing or that who appeared to be the head of the Company died as well? And one other thing....why were all the guns in the last episode the same??? I am pretty sure that every time we saw a gun it was the same kind.

Did anyone else notice the nod to the very old Japanese show "Johnny Sokko and the Giant Robot"?

The main bad guy, Gargoyle, also had atomic type powers. He could take a fingernail off, and blow stuff up with it. As I recall, the show ended when Giant Robot flew Gargoyle into space so that he wouldn't blow up the earth.

Nice job by the writers if it was on purpose.

This is what I thought too, I didn't understand the confusion over this. I'd imagine putting Peter's head back together wouldn't be as easy as removing a shard of glass.

Finally got around to seeing it. I think it was a good finale, but not a great one. As others have noted the fight scene was a major letdown. I liked how nearly everyone got into the action in some way - all the heroes joining forces vs. Sylar - but for Peter to amass all this power and then punch Sylar a few times was pretty weak. Their fight scene in the hallway in the future was far more intense and we didn't even see it. The Sylar crawling away part, though, was nothing short of ridiculous. How in the living hell did he just crawl away and nobody either saw him crawl away or seemed to be bothered by the fact he was gone? And if he crawled away after everyone had left, why was his body just left there by the police and ambulance? This is a great show with great writing but that's incredibly lame.

As far as next season, the person who noted the Whedon-esque reference was on the mark. The man who sees Molly is likely to be the Big Bad and he may or may not be working with Sylar. I hope Peter's not dead. He has the potential to be a great character (we saw that in his future incarnation). I'm fine with Nathan biting the dust.

Just making a note that they are still putting out Heroes comix every week on the NBC website. The past 2 weeks have had the origins of the Haitian

The confrontation between Peter and Sylar in the future episode was alot better than this one, and you barely saw it.Can anyone explain why Claire wouldn't shoot Peter? She had already taken a 8 inch long shard of glass out of his head. Just plain silly.
pulling the shard out saved his lifeshooting him could kill himshe didn't want to kill him
Umm, she woke up on an autopsy table AFTER they used the rib spreader. She knows he absorbs people's powers. Yet she thinks bullets will kill him?
We dont know what she knows nor what she thinks.
He absorbed the fire guy's power right in front of her. Her dad knows. Her dad was right there to tell her even if he hadn't told her before. Sorry, but no matter how you slice it, the logic in this finale was piss poor.
Ever think he can only use one power at a time? You are getting hyper sensitive about this finale, like others, which I find
He was invisible when Sylar sent the glass shard into his head.
Why would she see Sylar as a threat? This is a HUGE plot hole. She has never met Peter and She has never met Syler prior to seeing them square off in front of the sculpture. How did she know that Sylar was the bad guy and not Peter?

Was anyone else surprised by Linderman dieing or that who appeared to be the head of the Company died as well? And one other thing....why were all the guns in the last episode the same??? I am pretty sure that every time we saw a gun it was the same kind.
It was more than just the last episode. Eden killed herself with the same gun. Isaac shot simone with the same gun. The Haitian shot HRG with the same gun. Not sure if HRG shot invisible guy with that gun though. Ugly FBI chick has a different gun as well as Parkman and Jessica, but the company seems to only use those specific .45's.....

Not really a spoiler, but I know some people are really picky about this stuff...

Now that she's helped save the world, the cheerleader may finally be able to focus on her social life.

It was announced Tuesday that Nick D'Agosto, formerly Jan's hottie assistant on The Office, is joining the cast of Heroes next season as West, a would-be boyfriend for Hayden Panettiere's regenerative daddy's girl Claire Bennet.

The actor, who also was recently seen in the indie comedy Rocket Science, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, is one of three new onscreen superhumans set to join the action on the hit NBC series' second season.

Also along for the ride will be Dania Ramirez, most lately of The Sopranos, where she played Blanca, the single mom who sent A.J. into a tailspin. The 26-year-old heartbreaker, whose powers are not yet known, will be a recurring character.

Meanwhile, E! Online's Kristin Veitch reported today that former Alias star David Anders is also coming on board, as 1,000-year-old (yet obviously extremely well-preserved) villain Kane, who, apparently, has more than a few tricks up his sleeve. Anders, 26, is expected to report for work Monday.

There's no word yet on whether these newbies will show up first in Heroes: Origins, the six-episode companion series NBC has on tap for fall to bolster interest in the overall Heroes oeuvre, or whether they'll head right for the main event.

Ramirez's page on IMDb, however, already lists her as having appeared in the first episode of Heroes' second season, entitled "Generations."

Also rumored to be in line for a Heroic romance is Miss Universe Riyo Mori, who could end up getting close to Masi Oka's samurai sword-wielding time traveler Hiro Nakamura, per buddytv.com.

All of which NBC is hoping will sustain interest for what turned out to be its most-watched scripted show of the 2006-07 season. Heroes averaged 14.5 million viewers, second on the Peacock Network only to Deal or No Deal.

To further spread the word, NBC has masterminded a Heroes World Tour to promote the Aug. 28 DVD release of Heroes: Season One that will take cast members to Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Munich, Paris, London and, ultimately, New York, where they'll sign DVDs at the NBC Experience Store.

Stars expected to participate include Panettiere, Oka, Milo Ventimiglia, Ali Larter, Adrian Pasdar, Santiago Cabrera, Sendhil Ramamurthy and Zachary Quinto, among others.

The snippet about the new villian is very interesting. It will throw a whole new kink in this....

I just watched the finale last night.

"Save the cheerleader save the world" Was this just to get peter his regenerative powers so he could survive the fight with Sylar. What else did she do to save the world?
