I just watched the finale last night."Save the cheerleader save the world" Was this just to get peter his regenerative powers so he could survive the fight with Sylar. What else did she do to save the world?
That's actually not it. I think it was to keep Sylar from getter her power and allowing him to have all those powers AND be ivulnerable....And it was just future Hiro's guess at what would change the timeline he was stuck in where Ando dies...

How did Nathan hear the conversation between Claire and Peter when she was going to off him? Peter tells her there is no other way but to shoot him, then we see Nathan swoop in from the heavens and say "Yes there is Claire". Dude's got super hearing too.

Just for ####s and giggles, the wife and I are re-watching the LOST series from the first episode...

And I noticed that the pilot who survived the crash but was promptly killed by the Smoke Monster was none other than Matt Parkman.

We pretty much all knew that but thanks

Dammit...I would have thought so, but I must have read every single page of this (and the LOST) threads and I didn't remember anyone pointing that out before.

He's a J.J. Abrahms regular: Felicity, Alias, Lost.

Finally got around to seeing it. I think it was a good finale, but not a great one. As others have noted the fight scene was a major letdown. I liked how nearly everyone got into the action in some way - all the heroes joining forces vs. Sylar - but for Peter to amass all this power and then punch Sylar a few times was pretty weak. Their fight scene in the hallway in the future was far more intense and we didn't even see it. The Sylar crawling away part, though, was nothing short of ridiculous. How in the living hell did he just crawl away and nobody either saw him crawl away or seemed to be bothered by the fact he was gone? And if he crawled away after everyone had left, why was his body just left there by the police and ambulance? This is a great show with great writing but that's incredibly lame.

As far as next season, the person who noted the Whedon-esque reference was on the mark. The man who sees Molly is likely to be the Big Bad and he may or may not be working with Sylar. I hope Peter's not dead. He has the potential to be a great character (we saw that in his future incarnation). I'm fine with Nathan biting the dust.
He slipped down the manhole that he was laying right next to. They made of showing this escape by flashign "end of episode 1" on the side of the removed piece. It's conceivable that as people looked to the sky, he managed to crawl down there.I'd like to know why he did nothing and let Hiro take 3 steps and then stab him.

We watched this on DVD over the last week.

This show ruled.

Don't know if I want to get into watching Season 2, however, as my wife has to watch 4 episodes in a row because she doesn't like not knowing the ending.

I just took season 1 out from the library. I have never watched any of these prior to last night. My first question is how does the Japanese guy get to the girls bathroom or NY? It looked like he could stop time and make it go faster. I dont understand how this allows him to appear in different places

The stripper girl is my favorite so far with the cheerleader being a close second.

Maybe I do need to read this thread. I am 4 episodes in and I am

Now I got Hiro from the future showing up on a train to talk to the guy who thinks he can fly. Did this show come out after Lost? It seems like a cheap ripoff of Lost meets xmen.

I watched 24 like this with the dvds a good 3-4 years after it started and I couldnt watch it fast enough. I am thinking Heroes may have been better with the week in between episodes or it just is not my thing?

It has been a very uneven paced series. It really depends on which characters you enjoy most, as there are some periods that give various characters short shrift. And, since there are no scenes with everyone together, it's unfortunately unavoidable.Overall, I'd say stick through at least through the Saving of the Cheerleader. Although the best overall episode isn't until Ep. 17 ("Company Man").

Man...that show is great. Started watching Season 1 yesterday and I've watched 19 of the 23 episodes. This show is addictive. And by the way....great thread. All the speculation going on almost makes it seem like a WW game.

I think keeping it to 13 episodes might be a good beginning here. Never watched season 3 or 4. Season 1 was epic tv though because the concept was something new to tv at the time. Heroes was one of the biggest tragedies of the writers strike. That strike hurt this show big time... can't think of another show that was "damaged" by that thing.
It did hurt the show, but honestly the ending of season 1 was the thing that hurt it the most. Once they let Sylar live, it ruined everything as it allowed people to come back from death and then that happened other times. If they had killed off Sylar, they could have introduced other villains and it would have been a far better show. I have no idea where they would have taken the story, but I still think that was the start of the end. The strike didn't help, but I thought it was a weak ending and I never liked all the roads they went down with Sylar after that. I'm pretty sure I never even made it through season 4 and missed some of season 3 as well.

Yup, that was the beginning of the end with the show. And like you said, they didn't really know what to do with Sylar after that. They just wanted to keep him alive. I thought that ending and subsequently stripping Peter of all his powers killed the show.
