I only saw 1 Hillary 9x12 on the way home, and it happened to be in a ditch by a swamp.  There were a few dozen Trump signs.  I saw 2 groups of people holding up Trump signs & USA flags.  Also, there was a pickup with a huge USA flag in the back, and trump signs all over it.  About a 45min commute on 2 major arteries in Pinellas & Hillsborough.  Both swing counties.

Hard to argue with compelling empirical evidence like that.

 
I will say this....I think one rule NC does have that I think every state should have is removal of "vote for all democrats/republicans" buttons/options on the ballots.  I think every state should do this personally.  It might, just might, get a person to think for a second if they are going through a ballot clicking on names they have never heard of before.  The hope being, they walk away thinking it might be a good idea to know who I am voting for next time I vote thus getting them engaged in the primaries and general election sooner rather than later.

What? You can do this? I've never seen a "vote the full ballot" option?

Except that African-American turnout is UP from 2012 in early voting pretty much everywhere else in the country. The articles compares North Carolina to three other southern states- it's up in the other three and down that 8% in North Carolina.  That combined with the September memo, the state GOP actually sending out a press release that sounds proud of declining black turnout ... this isn't just a "where there's smoke there's fire" situation.  This is a "where there's smoke and heat and flames and guys in fire-######ant yellow jackets there's fire" situation.  Yeah it seems to be getting better, but it still looks pretty awful and in a state that should be very close a couple thousand votes lost due to long lines could make the difference.

On a tangent- saw a great tweet yesterday about pictures and videos of long lines at polling stations.  Sometimes they're presented as sources of pride by the media. "Look at democracy in action, all these people waiting to hear their voice heard!"  They're not sources of pride.  They show fundamental failures of our state and local governments at one of their most important tasks.  If you're waiting more than 20-30 minutes to vote, someone either screwed up or doesn't want you to vote.

I saw a fleet of American bald eagles carrying a giant TRUMP/PENCE banner heading towards the sunset while beneath them a man dressed as Uncle Sam was riding an elephant into the same sunset while surrounded by cowboys shooting guns into the air (they hit a couple of the eagles) .  It was majestic.

Yep...on our ballots there was a "Vote Democratic Ticket" or "Vote Republican Ticket"  (or something similar...don't remember the exact label).  Have that here in SC also...I'll pay closer attention to the label tomorrow.

Based on the signs I saw during my commute today I am projecting that Clinton will win the election in a massive landslide without a single vote cast for Trump.  Also, DC will be the 51st State in the union, refugees will soon be welcome but fascists will have to stay out, and the Archbishop Carroll High School Seniors will "rule."

Oof.  That just strikes me as awful.  I mean, being lazy or blind partisan and just going down the ballot line I can understand.  But to give the two major parties an all in lazy man special? Oof. 

 
I just saw that women are outvoting men 55% to 44% in national early cast ballots... its usually apparently 53 / 47

If between Hillary being a woman and/or their disgust at Trump's misogyny and then some women vote even one percent more than in the past (equating to an additional percent lost by the men), that could be a key factor considering women are skewing so strongly toward Clinton.

For the first time in my voting history, I opened up my voter registration booklet and researched each candidate and proposal, marking down my selections and I will use it tomorrow as a cheat sheet.

Or estimating overall voting numbers with early voting.  I assumed that's what he was doing.  I don't think early voting matters.  Overall voting is what matters.
