Hard to argue with compelling empirical evidence like that.Quez said:I only saw 1 Hillary 9x12 on the way home, and it happened to be in a ditch by a swamp. There were a few dozen Trump signs. I saw 2 groups of people holding up Trump signs & USA flags. Also, there was a pickup with a huge USA flag in the back, and trump signs all over it. About a 45min commute on 2 major arteries in Pinellas & Hillsborough. Both swing counties.
What? You can do this? I've never seen a "vote the full ballot" option?I will say this....I think one rule NC does have that I think every state should have is removal of "vote for all democrats/republicans" buttons/options on the ballots. I think every state should do this personally. It might, just might, get a person to think for a second if they are going through a ballot clicking on names they have never heard of before. The hope being, they walk away thinking it might be a good idea to know who I am voting for next time I vote thus getting them engaged in the primaries and general election sooner rather than later.
Except that African-American turnout is UP from 2012 in early voting pretty much everywhere else in the country. The articles compares North Carolina to three other southern states- it's up in the other three and down that 8% in North Carolina. That combined with the September memo, the state GOP actually sending out a press release that sounds proud of declining black turnout ... this isn't just a "where there's smoke there's fire" situation. This is a "where there's smoke and heat and flames and guys in fire-######ant yellow jackets there's fire" situation. Yeah it seems to be getting better, but it still looks pretty awful and in a state that should be very close a couple thousand votes lost due to long lines could make the difference. The Commish said:The polling station shenanigans were during the first week....for a period of time, numbers were down 25-30%. In the last week they have close to 8-9%. Doesn't appear the shenanigans were long lasting in terms of their impact. Of course, this being down 8-9% is comparison to the record levels Obama set in the state. The turnout thus far is pretty similar to any other election cycle not involving Obama. So, for example, Mecklenburg county (where Charlotte is) is about 6-7% off it's record turnouts after being down 30ish% early when the restrictions were in place.
As for Cooper and Ross....well, Cooper is Cooper and can't seem to get out of his own way. Should see if the CLT local NPR station has some podcasts of the debates. They were, in a word, brutal. Ross, not much to that race...a lot of he said she saidbetween the two. Poorly run IMO.
I saw a fleet of American bald eagles carrying a giant TRUMP/PENCE banner heading towards the sunset while beneath them a man dressed as Uncle Sam was riding an elephant into the same sunset while surrounded by cowboys shooting guns into the air (they hit a couple of the eagles) . It was majestic.Quez said:I only saw 1 Hillary 9x12 on the way home, and it happened to be in a ditch by a swamp. There were a few dozen Trump signs. Here are the straight ticket states. What? You can do this? I've never seen a "vote the full ballot" option?
Yep...on our ballots there was a "Vote Democratic Ticket" or "Vote Republican Ticket" (or something similar...don't remember the exact label). Have that here in SC also...I'll pay closer attention to the label tomorrow. What? You can do this? I've never seen a "vote the full ballot" option?
Turns out if you call people rapists, threaten to deport them and state you're going to make their relatives pay for a wall, they get all vote-yTrump tomorrow night: "Reeeeid!!!"
Based on the signs I saw during my commute today I am projecting that Clinton will win the election in a massive landslide without a single vote cast for Trump. Also, DC will be the 51st State in the union, refugees will soon be welcome but fascists will have to stay out, and the Archbishop Carroll High School Seniors will "rule."Quez said:I only saw 1 Hillary 9x12 on the way home, and it happened to be in a ditch by a swamp. Not sure this is a comprehensive list....South Carolina is missing unless they did away with it since 2012
Oof. That just strikes me as awful. I mean, being lazy or blind partisan and just going down the ballot line I can understand. But to give the two major parties an all in lazy man special? Oof.Yep...on our ballots there was a "Vote Democratic Ticket" or "Vote Republican Ticket" (or something similar...don't remember the exact label). If Hillary gets more black votes than Obama, I'm calling shenanigans.Except that African-American turnout is UP from 2012
Increases in life expectancy among African-Americans and our expanding diversity are an outrage! I'm getting my broom. If Hillary gets more black votes than Obama, I'm calling shenanigans.

Really? Thank You. My father was ridiculous too.I wasn't posting about the signs as absolute evidence he would be winning.you guys are ridiculous.
These people handle foreign affairs like domestic politics. The only difference is people die.Newsflash: Benghazi security guards were locals who were part of the Ansar al-Sharia and Al Qaeda groups operating in Benghazi,”
Hillary: 'Who cares'. 'What difference does it make?' 'Better them than me'. 'Sacrifices have to be made mister'. 'I'm a fat, old, pear shaped, untouchable, piglet'.

That's the North Carolina GOP's next mission.Increases in life expectancy among African-Americans and our expanding diversity are an outrage! I'm getting my broom.
Do you have a theory as to why black voting is down in North Carolina but up in other battle ground states like Florida? The Commish said:The polling station shenanigans were during the first week....for a period of time, numbers were down 25-30%. For the first time in my voting history, I opened up my voter registration booklet and researched each candidate and proposal, marking down my selections and I will use it tomorrow as a cheat sheet.I will say this....I think one rule NC does have that I think every state should have is removal of "vote for all democrats/republicans" buttons/options on the ballots. Another "they sucked too" deflection. Let's just rain hell down all over the planet because our party isn't as bad as yours was when they were in charge! Solid reasoning.
So, to recap, you believe we haven't had a decent President since... 1993? 1989?Another "they sucked too" deflection. Let's just rain hell down all over the planet because our party isn't as bad as yours was when they were in charge! Solid reasoning.

I have no idea.jonessed said:That's not surprising. I suspect women generally vote earlier.

English, please.you see...places take what yhey have said...and check the facts and come up with stats for it.
ITs not a contortion or excuse...its a statistic that shows one les more than the other.
That seems hard for some people to underatand.
Seems like maybe waiting for the voting to finish would be prudent.Do you have a theory as to why black voting is down in North Carolina but up in other battle ground states like Florida?
When deciding if early voting changes impacted the number of early voters? Okay.Seems like maybe waiting for the voting to finish would be prudent.
You didn't say early voting. When deciding if early voting changes impacted the number of early voters? Okay.
He's got you there, Henry. You could have been posting from the future. You didn't say early voting.
Or estimating overall voting numbers with early voting. I assumed that's what he was doing. I don't think early voting matters. Overall voting is what matters. He's got you there, Henry. You could have been posting from the future.
