They are obviously hoping, at the very least, for another sound bite they can take out of context (see "What difference does it make?") and with hours of testimony they may get their wish.

However, this plan could also backfire and an intense grilling of Hillary for hours asking variations on the same questions over-and-over again could make her come across as a sympathetic figure who is being harassed by this committee for political reasons only (which several Republicans have essentially already admitted).

The only interesting thing that came out today was Hillary sending Chelsey an email saying it was a terrorist attack the day after on September 12th. Politics as usual, back in 2012 by the Democrats and the last 3 years by the GOP. Seeing no winners here with either the Democrats or the Republicans. FBI's investigation of Hillary's emails which they have promised will be over by January will be a tougher hurdle for her.

This is nonsense, of course. First it wasn't a new revelation that Clinton told the Egyptian Prime Minister that the attack had nothing to do with the video. Here's an article that mentions it from two days ago. So that didn't "come out of this." It was already out there. More importantly, of course, is that the whole idea that this was a deliberate lie is fairly silly and irrelevant. It's clear that the initial assessment was that it did stem from protests of the video, so what likely happened was a simple mistake/communication breakdown, not some far-fetched nonsensical conspiracy theory about a deliberate lie which anyone would know would likely be exposed and the benefit of which would have been marginal at best anyway. That was established in CIA testimony over a year ago.

The whole thing is partisan garbage, and pretty much everyone knows it. That's why Clinton is riding high this morning, just as I've been predicting for weeks and weeks. The GOP went all in with 3-9 offsuit because they're slaves to the extremist conspiracy theory nutjob wing of the party, and they got burned for it.

She definitely knows what the game is (none of Obama's starting in the middle to try and work out a compromise with republicans), and she appeared presidential as F.
