I know Trump is incredibly dishonest. I think the last time I saw a stat was that he lies like 75% of the time.

But is it true that both of them are incredibly dishonest? I thought Hillary was at like 25%. That seems sort of run of the mill politician liar. Not anything especially egregious. Is it great? Of course not. But she seems just sort of par for the course. 

There's some strategery that can be employed here along with some fuzzy math where by if a derp repeats that she's a liar over and over and over again on the internet for a few years it initiates a multiplying agent where by the 25% becomes 37.5% and that becomes 56.25% and next thing you know it's crossing lines in the sand and all bets are off because samesees!

It is true you can just as surely drown in water an inch over your head (Clinton) as 100 feet over your head (Trump), but given my druthers, I'd opt for the former and take my chances that way. The false equalization squad implicitly is rolling with the candidate that asked twice at a security briefing why we can't use nukes since we have them, who wants to be "unpredictable" with nukes and stands for nuclear proliferation by Japan, South Korea and even Saudi Arabia. The candidate who is undermining and eroding Democracy with dangerous "rigged" rhetoric, and seditiously enlisting the aid of illegal Gestapo-like poll monitor goon squads. Puts the press in harms way by calling them disgusting and pointing them out in rallies if they don't write about him in terms of fawning adoration. A hothead that openly courted violence and talked about wanting to punch opposing politicians and protesters. With such poor impulse control, personal discipline and prioritization sense that HIS OWN STAFF don't trust him with his Twitter feed and wrestled it away from him during crunch time in case he did something "impetuous" or "rash" (such a child). Wannabe dictator.

I'm kind of feeling like nearly every conservative I know either here or in my personal life is going to repeat something similar to this over the next few days and weeks...

I'm not a conservative.  I supported Sanders.  I've never supported either of these two.  I never intended to vote for either so I wasn't going to be happy regardless of who wins but I'm not going to make myself miserable over it either.  I accepted months ago the collective US voters screwed this election up.

I didn't follow the 1st round in detail but didn't they drag that out forever due to the number of emails?

She was going to win regardless so I guess at least we don't have a President under FBI investigation making our country look like an even bigger joke.  

For a change I haven't kept up. However not all 650K related to Hillary. Some smaller number did. Secondly unlike the first time there is a repository of documents to compare against. Software can examine the whole set to identify what is duplicate and what is new. What is new is relatively small. I don't know that the investigation is actually over. It's funny the constant 180 degree reverses we hear from the talking points from both sides. 

Comey issues his letter. GOP yells 'investigation reopened!'. Dems respond that oh no the investigation was never really closed. Oh ok. Now it's closed. Trump goes from 'rigged!' To Comey is a man of integrity bravely battling the DOJ back to Rigged! again. Dems do the flip of that, and now we're back to trusting Comey again. The FBI is supposed to be independent which was GREAT in July, then not in October, now is again in November, and then when Hillary cans Comey on January why that will just be 'just deserts'. I think Hillary - like the Dems said just a couple weeks ago - is still under investigation in a couple directions as is Trump, and if this country is a joke it's for putting our selves in this ridiculous position in the first place. Yeah our country has taken a hit from all of this.

What makes you think this? He was in favor of the Iraq war and the Lybian intervention. He's promised to "kick the ####" out of ISIS. He says the problem with Iraq is that we didn't occupy the country even longer and take the oil while we were there. I have no idea where this image of Trump the pacifist comes from.

Just heard that the 15,000 of the 33,000 deleted emails that were found on Weiner's laptop were mostly duplicates with some personal emails. Unless something changes on that reporting, it seems to back up Hillary's explanation.

They hated the July announcement, wrote seething criticisms of his flagrant attack on Hillary. Of course they were stunned to hysterics over the October letter, and while some may be thankful he cleared things up before Tuesday, he is and always has been despised.

Here’s another truth that is little discussed in the media, because I think most political journalists don’t have much grasp of this reality. In these last days, message matters a lot less than mechanics. That is: When Clinton goes to a city to give a speech, Orlando or Charlotte or Detroit or Las Vegas or wherever, the content of the speech she gives is what the media focus on. What happens is that she sees people. She sees, yes, fundraisers, the local money bags. But she sees local party activists and local black preachers and United Federation of Teachers phone-bankers and who knows who else. They get invited to come backstage and meet her. 


Also, local Democrats and union leaders and others organize caravans to the event, and in those caravans they sign people up to make calls or knock on doors. You may have seen situations in the past where a candidate, Democrat or Republican, showed up in a place and in the next poll gained two points in that place, and you may have wondered why; just because of a speech? But it’s not because of a speech. It’s because the appearance of the candidate activated and engaged hundreds of people, who then reached out to thousands, who amounted to two points.
Is the same thing happening on the Trump side? This is the thing about this election. We don’t know. He has no roots in any local GOP operation. Not even Manhattan’s! Some of them love him, sure. But some of them don’t. And the rich Republicans around the country are very divided on Trump. Some wouldn’t go to a Trump fundraiser if you held a gun to their head. So I would tend to doubt that a Trump appearance in Columbus has the same knock-on effect that a Clinton appearance there does.

Also the more I looked at it, the more I sympathized with Comey's letter. It very well could be he ran a little interference that aided Hillary more than we can know. The laptop was in NYC hands and somewhere I read they were going to town with it. Comey may have said, "Whoa, I promised Congress to apprise them of any new developments, so slow your roll and let's be transparent." 

Also also, the bedside stand against Ashcroft wasn't ever reported thoroughly. Sure he stopped the surveillance order, but not because he was protecting citizens privacy. The fine print was legally screwed up. He fixed it so that the secret domestic spying would go on for years and signed it that month.

It supported every single Republican nominee for president from Truman to Clinton, even providing Nixon and Reagan. It is deep blue for as far as the eyes can see now. I've been wondering if the massive political shift that happened in CA isn't coming to several of the red states Trump will win. If those burritos come to life the GOP is in deep guacamole. Arizona? Could they now?  Is the party too poisoned? And will the current faux populist nee nationalist white uneducated male dominated base be in any position to nominate a Rubio ... especially considering how many Latinos who could have come to voting age / status as Republicans if Rubio were the guy now are likely lost to the Dems, possibly forever or at least a good number of cycles?

not only will these folks feel alienated from the Republican Party and likely not vote for them, but their voice in the primaries will also be lost, further isolating what was mainstream conservatism with Trumpism

Rubio against Hill could have brought on a lot of new, young Latinos into the republican camp. Instead they hung a huge "no bad hombres wanted" sign and sent them running in record numbers to the other Party.
