*** Official Jaguars Thread - Team Putting #DTWD to The Test *** (3 Viewers)

So Khan visited the team yesterday.

Would love to hear how that went.
Probably like this:

"Gus told us to trust the process, Mr Khan, and that's what we're doing. And he told us everything that we are doing is acceptable. And then the mean fans booed us. Can you make them stop booing us Mr. Khan?"

Prepare yourselves, football fans. Jaguars QB Blake Bortles has a warning about tonight's "color rush" uniforms: "They're ugly as hell."

He's not wrong. Hate this uniform.

What are you homer's thoughts on AROB tonight?  Any chance for a breakout or will McCourty (or Bortles) shut him down?

Wow. That's probably worth a fine. lol

All the color rush unis are horrific looking. I don't know why this is possibly a thing. Maybe they're trying to distract us with the horrible on-field product by making something on the field look worse than the playing/officiating?

Money. The reason is always money.

Hate to pile on, but yeah the Bradley era is over. Heard JAX beat writer on NFL network this morning (O'Holloran, or some such), and stated that there is a rift in the locker room, between players that are loyal to the coach (who feel that their success is tied to the success of Bradley) and new arrivals that are waiting for the inevitable.

True stuff.

Well it definitely looks like some players have quit on him tonight.

Does it make me a "bad fan" to root for meltdown of epic proportion to force Khan's hand?
It was reported on ESPN this morning that the Jags weren't likely to fire him mid-season.  "Khan doesn't believe it helps" was the gist of the reasoning.

There is so much hype about this team every year... and every year it is the same thing.  A dumpster fire.  The only thing they have going for them is garbage-time!

I don't understand Khan's  comment about actions. Is he firing coordinator?  Benching Bortles?

Unsure what action he means.

When diehard fans say they're not using their season tickets next home game until Gus is gone, you know things are bad

Just rewatched the highlights (misnomer).

give the ball to Henne.   There are high school quarterbacks who throw a better ball than Blake.  I think he might be Benjamin Button.  His muscle mass is wasting away in the shoulder area.

Again, Gus and Bortles are tied at the hip. Bortles is why Gus and Olsen returned. If they bench Bortles then Gus packs his bags since he failed to develop the franchise QB he promised.

Caldwell should pack his bags, too. It was his pick.

Well the Jags found their scapegoat.

if they don't clean house before next year this dumpster fire will only get worse.

On Thursday I saw a team that quit. That's on the HC, not the OC in my humble opinion.

Here's the official press:

Jaguars fired OC Greg Olson.

QBs coach Nathaniel Hackett is expected to take over as coordinator. This firing seemed inevitable with Blake Bortles getting worse every week. Olson certainly did not help matters by abandoning the running game even when it was working in recent weeks, something which reportedly upset coach Gus Bradley, but the offense is being held hostage by Bortles' mechanical issues, issues the new coordinator failed to fix as the QBs coach. Perhaps the team enjoys a new-coach bump, but the Jags' offensive issues are not going away as long as Bortles is playing like a bottom-tier quarterback.

There's a lot on the HC. A team that looks unprepared.  A team with no discipline.  A team that gets outcoached by otherwise ordinary head coaches. A team that never gets the most out of its talent.

He should have been fired. But the entire coaching staff should have been canned. Olson sucked, but he was just part of the problem, not THE problem.

Coaching staff, QB, GM- All must go.

The lead in the T-U story of Olson's firing:

"After each possession during the second half of Thursday’s loss at Tennessee, Jaguars offensive coordinator Greg Olson would sit on the bench flanked by back-up quarterbacks Chad Henne and Brandon Allen to review uploaded images on his Microsoft Surface tablet.

Several feet away, Blake Bortles watched the Jaguars’ defense, communicating only with Henne."

Way to help yourself out there Blake.

Wow sorry Jags fans. Pleading on the internet for Jaguars fans to stop being so mean, I mean what kind of response did he expect? Especially since they are 16-55 since his dad took over.

Some of those responses to him though were hilarious
